  1. Black 20ts seem to be softer and smoother than the tan versions. I'm guessing they come off a different production line; maybe TLG should check on it. Not that they will.
  2. Maybe they ran scared from the geared slewing in 42097. "Draggy" doesn't even begin to describe it...
  3. That boom looks awful with an entire missing section on the side.
  4. Would a CLAAS-B type setup work with one side flange removed? At least then the snow has somewhere to go.
  5. Try changing the polarity on the remote for one motor (the small black switches on the handset do this for you). If that isn't the issue, it might be that one motor is not working correctly. Test both. Also, some motors are stronger or faster than others since no two are absolutely identical in performance. Remember that as well.
  6. Pictures of your setup would help.
  7. Well hey, you get 42108 to replace it! Just as good, right?
  8. I'm sorry, what the hell are you on about? I can read perfectly well, and I am in no way colour blind. Neither am I blind to the fact that, in lieu of intelligent discussion, you've stooped to the very behaviour you apparently abhor. I have already explained my post above and that I didn't mean to insult you. Apparently that wasn't enough. And you PM'd me after @AVCampos made his pun. Now drop it.
  9. I'm not insulting you, I just thought sending me a PM was unnecessary over a joke @AVCampos made. And I made absolutely no attempt to mislead you in any way. The misunderstandings here are all yours, mate.
  10. Not by me. I'm not really a modder, so I expect decent sets.
  11. You shouldn't have to mod a set to make it functional. Yes, 42009 has a manual slew, but TLG should improve on each set. If 42097 can have a geared slew and outriggers, then 42108 should have been a no-brainer.
  12. I know. He even PM'd me about it. Anyhoo, I do believe 42108 is the topic of the day. At least you could build a replica of Los Angeles and wreck it with the crane... ...so there's that!
  13. No. @AVCampos was talking about the big spoiler on the back of 42109.
  14. Tow truck, maybe. Definitely lifting equipment of some kind. Or a cherry picker, like 8421.
  15. Oddly enough, TLG got the outrigger deployment of 42097 and 42108 round the wrong way. Spider crane outriggers are usually moved into position by hand while, as we know, mobile crane outriggers are lowered remotely.
  16. Don't forget the resulting erection... of the boom.
  17. A tow truck or a grader both look doable.
  18. The dad looks seriously bored watching the boom on the crane getting lifted before the timelapse cut.
  19. Looks cool. Good wheel choice as well.
