2: the LAs in my copy of 42081 had the same rough finish as yours, and one feels a little janky. The dark red input is understandable, as that is the axlehole colour for CONTROL+. 1: The damage to the motor is unbelievable though, especially in a premium product such as this. The fact that this has also happened with 42099 is indicative of a serious quality issue with the CONTROL+ components. -

Talk about a pain in the backside. I had to order extra panels for 42053. -
The actuator shafts in my copy of 42081 look a bit scruffy as well. Scratches and grey/white marks on yours, by any chance? And that motor - total shite.

Audio's a bit loud and tinny on Markus's end so it's a bit difficult to understand him. Written summary would be cool.

Looks to me like a cross between a Caterpillar D9 and a Chetra T6. -

Cool stuff! -
Cars the only subtheme? Hmm. I think the Tech Play and Tech Build distinction still exists in all but name. Sets like 42095 and the pullbacks are clearly Tech Play, while 42094 and 42098 are Tech Build. Not to mention the forestry theme, which started with 42054 and has continued with 42080 and 42094. There's all kinds of subthemes kicking.

Still does little for me, I'm afraid. The motions are fluid and most of the details are spectacular, but to me it's still a big bland white brick on tracks. And no B-model whatsoever, in a set with 4108 parts. Great review though. In-depth doesn't even begin to cover it.
