You could actually make a full circle by combining 2 sets. It has an octagonal shape and there are 4 sides already. The mechanism wouldn't work anymore though. Or well you wouldn't be able to do "dip" Han into the carbonite anymore, it would hit the added other half of the platform.

I would like to see a frontal shot, not really convinced it would look better if the droids stick out from the bottom even more. That's the starfighter from episode II not III. That one did sit flush with the wing, but only because it didn't actually have a lower body. TLG's placement is actually pretty accurate. It could be lower sure but have the body flush with the wing is overdoing it imo. Always nice to see some shoulder anyway.

I like your model. But like your t65 the nose could use some work, it looks too long and wide. Should be more wedge and less beak. The back is really well done but the front is kinda meh. The whole front section doesn't really match your reference. I complain a lot but I couldn't do a better job though. They're already SNOT, I think what you meant is stud-less.

I think you should send me some samples so I can determine if it's a moc or not.

All sets (excluding microfighters) have the same box art, it's not specific to TFA stuff. I think this might even expand to include every toy license and not just LEGO but unsure. They do change it after a period of time so it might change to a RO theme. But unlikely, since 2016 will most likely be Kylo Ren all day, every day. It's probably because they don't have any iconic scenes in the movie besides when they murder all the jedi. They're pretty bland like the rest of the clones, in terms of character anyway.

Just noticed how earily similar this looks to a moc posted in 2011. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=57096

Very very cool, this is probably my favorite Y-wing moc ever. The wings could be a bit bigger/beefier though I think. (also, love the T-18)

I would start by not doing that, buying sets for the sake of owning sets. You want to be a collector right, not a hoarder? Start with buying stuff you actually like. Also I see some non-LEGO in your collection, for shame! -
Oh that's actually pretty nice, did not know the battlepack model was modeled after an existing prop. Looks nice so far. Is the Gian 211 the official name for the thing, I can't find any info about it anywhere except brickset? I don't suppose you have a higher res picture of it?

[MOC] Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle Microfighter
khatmorg replied to khatmorg's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah I feel ya on the droid arms. Every other option I tried was more bulky however, if anyone else has a better option feel free to share. And the stud shooter, well I was too lazy to figure something else out and a true microfighter needs something that can shoot ;) I really dislike flickfires so studshooter it is!- 10 replies

Hello, here's my Microfighter version of Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle. The wings fold out like the real thing. They also collapse for landing mode but not quite like the real one. It also sports studshooters like TLG's latest microfighters.

[MOC] Millennium Falcon - Still the coolest spaceship!
khatmorg replied to marshal_banana's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It looks amazeballs, that first picture blew my mind. Very impressive indeed. I'd love to hear more about the project it looks like a massive undertaking no doubt. The cockpit tube thing looks spot on, can't imagine anyone doing a better job. The amount of detail overall seems just right. The mandibles look a bit too wide though and placed apart a tad too far, or perhaps the front is a tad too long I dunno. If you superimpose one of those top-down blueprint pictures over the model you'll see what I mean. In any case it looks soooo much better than the UCS model, which I always thought was overrated. -
I really like this project, it's turning out to be quite the looker. I do wish you would use different hinges or a different solution for the wings though. Are the pins holding in the engine exhausts secured in that position by an additional means other than the 2x2 corner plate? Also whats that blue color (I'm colorblind so it's hard for me to differentiate between the shades) specifically, is that available in real bricks?
-
I think you overestimate AFOL influence honestly. The whole wall-e thing was because of a design flaw, not being able to pose the head like intended. The wing's not folding out isn't a design flaw, but more like an oversight. The model is, structurally speaking, perfectly fine. If TLG would addres this supposed problem it would just open up a whole new world of nitpicking. I mean I love nitpicking, I really really do, but it just doesn't make sense business wise. What's stopping people from fixing the problem themselves anyway, they're plenty of examples to choose from if you don't have the skill to design a fix yourself. In any case I'm still waiting on TLG to release a fix for all the pilot battle droids they keep stuffing into droid fighters/bombers/gunships.

I saw, but it should be way "deeper". I don't know how else to explain so here's a picture =P. Notice how the engines (jet engines, waaaaaaaat????) are below the line dividing the upper and lower part of the speeder, and the bottom is more or less shaped like one of those swamp boat things.

I like this a lot, looks great.

It looks pretty nice. Though the bottom is missing? It should look like a boat hull, like it could actually float. I wish I had a screengrab but it's pretty obvious in one of the split seconds it appears in the movie

Well he IS the template for the clones after all. At least he's not perpetually angry.

Sweet, ordered one as well. Thanks!

Opposite for me, I really dislike the huge molded mask. The real thing looks ok but, I prefer the hooded look. I wish they did a hooded mold, or just a better scaled mold...

(MOC) Allegiance-class Heavy Star Destroyer (EU-Dark Empire)
khatmorg replied to Outworlder's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It looks pretty neat, the engine detail is beautiful especially. The upper deck looks too clean though, It kind of clashes with the rest of the ship. Accuracy wise it's a bit disappointing though compared to your other works. It looks like a chibi version of the source material, short and stubby.- 32 replies

Treatment of rebels? I don't really get the complaints honestly. Clone wars didnt get "current" sets either before well after they were featured on the show. This has more to do with the (lengthy) design process than any perceived mistreatment.

Judging from the pic you didnt push the pillars into the wing panels far enough. The connection is actually super sturdy, far better than the previous version. The black is supposed to sit flush against the panels, you're not supposed to see any white.
