  1. I don't really get what you mean by old sets being of the "model building" type. If you mean instruction wise I sorta understand I guess but from a build philosophy not really. Building techniques evolve with the addition of new elements but they don't seem to be THAT much different.
  2. Thanks for the heads up. I wish TRU wasn't so expensive to begin with though. Even with the discount, prices are just barely below msrp.
  3. This is probably the least appealing lego star wars set I've seen to date, visually anyway. I like the figs and all but the vehicle looks like some horrible attempt at "wookieeefying" a republic gunship for a contest. The design gets a resounding meh from me.
  4. Out of curiosity, what show are you guys talking about?
  5. Actually there's a blink-and-you-miss-it shot of the phantom docked, cockpit facing rearward in the trailer; The lines of the ship(s) just look a lot cleaner than TLG's version.
  6. It's just the wings that rotate actually, as seen in this scene in the movie; I've always liked the scissor style wings more than the movie version though, so kudos for your version.
  7. I quite like the latest iteration, might have to pick this one up. Also the skirts would look better if you put them on properly =P.
  8. I'm really struggling to understand why people seem to be aching for minifigs of characters that have a combined screen-time of probably 10 seconds. I get that people like variety but come on, they didn't even have names till some lame EU story. I've honestly only read a few lines of wookieepedia on these characters, but they really don't seem to be interesting or even memorable enough for the average fan of the movies. That being said I would like minifigs of all the individual stormtroopers present at arrival of the emperor, preferably with back-story written by a Star Wars fanatic.
  9. Kind of disappointing tbh, isn't that meant to 'dock' with the ghost? Somehow I doubt that's possible with the LEGO versions.
  10. Myea the in-game model seems to be a bit different, looks alot more barren compared to the video version. The video version seems to have a lot more turbolasers (huge ones) and are differently placed. Definitely looks better than the plain look of the in-game model though, always thought the engines looked off.
  11. The engines aren't right on that one though. They're 2 triangle like shapes that cover the entire "diamond", split in the middle. Anywho, looking forward to your progress! I've always wanted to do one myself but I don't have the budget for it atm. I can't wrap my head around building in LDD unfortunately, it just feels really clumsy and unnatural.
  12. The reichsadler on the back of the cloak is a bit offputting I think, considering that's the nazi version. It just looks really wrong to me re-purposed with that republic emblem.
  13. The Twilight meets Slave II, I like! Does it have any play features?
  14. Some sort of description would be nice instead of a linking to somewhere else. Star Wars stuff on cuusoo is pointless anyway, pretty sure it even says so in the guide lines or TOS. In any case, it looks pretty good although the cockpit looks really small for the ships class (which I'm guessing is a TIE class starfighter). And the wings look like they would be too heavy if you ever built it in real-life. I have to admit I'm not a big fan of digital MOCs since they tend to defy the laws of nature. I don't know if this is a original design but it definitely looks star warsy enough.
  15. Probably because of the "dangit why didn't I think of that" factor .
  16. I hope whoever leaked these took pictures of the non-rehashed stuff as well. The visible parts of the Ghost set look interesting at least, although it looks a lot smaller than it should be judging by the box.
  17. Second door on the right, put the seat down when you're done.
  18. You press the rear of the missile down and it fires, you can even insert them in either end.
  19. Yea I love this topic. The B-wing comparison seems to be between a moc and official set though. I'd upload a pic of my own of the two system scale models but sadly I don't own the first version.
  20. Dunno, 10 bucks seems alright. The X-wing has at least 80 pieces that I can count so it's not so bad imo.
  21. Dunno it's allowed but for the dutch people, all LEGO is 25% off on bol.com. So that includes all the new sets, they're out of stock though so you'd have to wait a bit in exchange for the reduced price. [Edit] Forgot to mention but the deal is valid today only!
  22. They're listed on a dutch toy store website ( Bart Smit) as: 75034 - Death Star Troopers - 100pcs 75035 - Kashyyyk Troopers - 99pcs 75036 - Utapau Troopers - 83pcs 75037 - Battle on Saleucami - 178pcs 75038 - Jedi Interceptor - 223pcs 75039 - V-Wing Starfighter - 201pcs 75040 - General Grievous Wheel Bike - 261pcs 75041 - Vulture Droid - 205pcs 75042 - Droid Gunship - 439pcs 75043 - AT-AP - 717pcs 75045 - Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon 434pcs
  23. Not very well, you have to lift the back sort of like a wheelbarrow. The legs are also pretty low to the ground in wheel mode.. It's a pretty bumpy ride really, grievous will surely develop health problems if he still had a meatbag neck =P.
  24. I don't think it's that oversized tbh, if at all. The scale seems about right when you consider the size of the buzz droid missiles in the movie. With a few minor alterations it looks pretty good. I was gonna remove the cockpit but I've sorta grown fond of the feature, since it can also seat normal minifigs, which I think is neat =P.
