42056 - Porsche Speculation

I have to admit that this edited color looks awesome on this car, but they're basically lying when they claim that this is the color of the model. I don't get it. -

I've seen pics of the orange, little tractors Porsche made in the 50's or around that time. Now I'm wondering too how an official Technic version of that would look -

The pins on this part are without friction, as far as I'm aware of. I dunno about the red one, but the LBG ones I have doesn't have any friction. -

I'm wondering if there would be any benefit or point in making a smaller battery box to fit, let's say 2-3 AA or AAA batteries, for the sole purpose of powering lights in e.g. this set, if one would want lights only without having to fit a regular 6 AA battery box. I think it could be of a certain benefit, but TLG probably won't make such a thing. -

Fair enough regarding the rack parts, but IMO it would be a waste to produce new molds for those parts if they're never gonna use them again. Anyway, I can't see the DBG 3x11 panels that made up the front counterweight. Could they have redesigned the plow for the B-model and removed the panels? -

"smallest Technic car ever" made me curious, and for the funny side, you delivered maximal such outstanding design! Those lines! -

I just had the thought that it would be funny to see someone attempt to make a Minecraft Wither with parts and 3 heads from the Darth Vader/Kylo Ren figures

I understood it as not too far off, they might have said just closer to Lego red than Lego orange. I have to look up the lava orange. -

If they go with orange, I'd think it would make the most sense to use the standard TLG orange. I mean, if the official Porsche lava orange is as close to TLG's standard red as people say, I'd think they could rather use red instead of introducing lava orange just a few shades away from their own red. Unless that would be one of the demands from Porsche, to have the final color choice spot on. -

Technic General Discussion
N-4K0 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As a non-purist, I don't see any problem using third party stuff, and if it's similar to the part it replaces, like string, I say go for it. Adding string when the set does not have any string, that's something else. Adding something that didn't come with the set in the first place, I would say that makes it more of a mod than a C-model, as I think a C-model is regarded as strictly using the parts within the set and nothing additional. I usually do as I please though, I'm not really one to give a good answer. -
I got the Lego Minecraft 21126 The Wither today. My first set that's not Technic, kinda gives me a feeling of nostalgia building with regular bricks again.

Speaking of set boxes, I understand that big boxes might help sell the set better by having a bigger, more visible image of the set. But nevertheless, I keep wondering why some sets have a box which is IMO too big when only 50-75% of the box is full. It's not a big issue, I just don't really get it. Also, the part separation in the bags confuse me. I don't get why they don't just gather all the pins and axles by themselves in their own bags, why some of them are mixed with connectors and other things. All the 2L, 3/4 and half pins as well as the 2L axles could just be gathered together in a single bag, all the 3L blue pins, pins with bushes and 3L axles etc. Again no issue, just a detail I don't get. -
