  1. What was the estimated part count guessed here, 800 something? I guess there might be more parts on the inside than what can be estimated from the way it looks.
  2. I think Padmé treating the Gungans as equals was the right thing to do and helped establish her as a good person. Otherwise I think your suggestions are good. I especially agree that Anakin should have been older from the start, as the PT made him 46 when he died, far from the old man I've got the impression that he was supposed to be. I also think Obi-Wan should have been older than the 57 years of age he was when he died.
  3. Excellent review Jim, thumb's up for that! very informal and well executed.
  4. At the very least, they learned from the overuse of CGI and underuse of practical sets and models when making the new movies, from TFA onwards. I expect Rogue One to have practical sets as well, which I see as more enjoyable and will also make it more similar to the OT.
  5. Hah, $599 when people can get it for 300 Euro next week such fail
  6. It seems the primary use of studded beams and plates in Technic today is to more accurately shape the loader and digger arms on sets like the Volvo loader and the upcoming Volvo wheel excavator.
  7. Isn't the set coming with a few different types of bricks to scoop up? I guess it might have a section with different sized holes or slots where the smaller bricks fall through and the bigger ones pass over and fall through further ahead.
  8. As far as I remember, it was stated that the design process for this set started sometimes in 2013. With close to 3 years in process, I can't imagine a major flaw like gearing issues would pass through quality controls and the design video would actually require disconnecting the gearing to actually show off a flawless rolling over a table.
  9. The best option IMO is to just expect August 1 and if you do find it somewhere before that, it's a bonus. I usually settle for the official release dates (January 1, August 1) because the site I usually order from, which I find to have the best prices, get the sets in stock for those dates.
  10. I must have missed it, what exactly is this issue with the clips on the driving ring everyone's talking about? And what exactly is this "major issue"?
  11. No problem. It's worth a try if you want to, the only real modification I can see having to be done is the connection through the turntable, but I imagine that could be dropped in favor of e.g. an extra battery box on the truck part of the 42009, controlling the outriggers without having to go from the superstructure through the turntable.
  12. I don't know if this is the same post you saw, but I found one about this: http://www.eurobrick... crawler&st=250 - post #259 The user have switched the superstructures on the 42009 and 42042.
  13. I wouldn't mind seeing maybe one futuristic/concept thingy every year, maybe replacing one of the usual pullback-racers. Depends what they could come up with thoughl
  14. Honestly, the Porsche appears to me to be intended for display, so I don't really mind the flaws based on that. Also, if I end up getting it at some point, I'll be using it for parts either way. I understand why some of you are disappointed though. I must add that the expense of the "coffee table book" doesn't make much sense to me, seeing as it's the car/parts people buy this set for anyway.
  15. Yes, sorry for the off-topic. I'm still really excited for this set, I wish August would come sooner!
  16. I see. And yes, 16 to start practicing in Norway, I edited the post you quoted, seems I forgot to add that when I wrote it.
  17. I'm not quite sure what you mean with "graduated" licensing. In Norway you can legally start practice driving at 16 with someone at least 25 who's had a license for at least 5 years continuously, then when you turn 18 you can legally get your own license. Sweden and Denmark are quite similar to us in many ways, I believe they have it the same way or similar, but I can only speak for our system.
  18. In many countries you must be 18 to drive, Denmark included. And since Lego is Danish, I imagine they would go with 18+ if the age thing had any relation As for the topic, I am also impatiently waiting for the BWE to be released
  19. Indeed, both cubes are buildable just from looking at the images. Nice job, I love the small one, so simple and funny
  20. The First Order wiped out the Hosnian system, as ChiefPie said, including Hosnian Prime, the "Coruscant wannabe" housing the New Republic.
  21. Not as far as I can remember.
  22. So there is no center hole going through the Porsche rims, but has anyone seen the inside of them? Could there be like 1L axle holes on the inside or something? I don't know how useful that would be though.
  23. I guess the only form of retirement is whenever they make a new mold for an existing part in order to change it, like better reinforcement, cos I assume the existing part is then replaced with the new mold.
  24. Ok, I didn't check the colors, but if the black one hasn't been used in 16 years, I understand that one could conclude it had been retired.
  25. The information on BrickLink says this specific part has been used since 1988 up to 2014. It's only about 2 years since it was last used then.
