42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
N-4K0 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Just picked up my BWE at the post office. I know what I'll be doing this weekend The box really is big, and heavy, I can't wait to start building! -

I hope to get my BWE tomorrow. I'll keep the axle straightness and gear rotation in mind, although I won't keep it permanently assembled. Thanks guys. -
Imagine the number of track links if they modeled the BWE after this one

42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
N-4K0 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It would be cool to see a regular tractor released next year, maybe a licensed John Deere or something, introducing a smaller version of these tires along with the Xerion ones. -

I got around and ordered this beast from TRU earlier today. Can't wait to build it -

I'm 27 and I only recently realized the stud function on the minifig hand as well

I didn't even think about the sanitation thing with Finn as anything special until I saw it mentioned here.

I've always wanted to see more of Mace Windu than the fights we got with him, but I think his death was too important to be negated. I loved his bad-megablocks, intense duel with Sidious, although too short for my liking, and seeing him getting blasted with a torrent of Force lightning and pushed out of the window like that makes a great impact along with the following Order 66.

Independence Day: Resurgence in the cinema earlier tonight.

Anakin cut it off, but yes, I agree. Although that would probably have to be pre-OT, or he'd probably be a bit old.

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
N-4K0 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Same, I'm going to buy it anyway, but I'd love to see a good, proper review a la Jim and Sariel -
Standalone or not, I already view it as equal to the saga movies since it's about the rebellion just prior to A New Hope. If it turns out to be really good, it's just even better.

If I remember correctly and it was 5x7 frames I counted, I think I could spot at least 12 from the images some time back. I haven't made any attempt of further spotting more of them or guessing the total number. -
Seems to me it would have been better if TLG marketed this set as "incomplete" or something and prompting people who were interested in buying it to come up with solutions to fine-tune the friction problems etc. At least you'd know what you got instead of buying a set marked as Ultimate only to find a set with numerous friction flaws.

[REVIEW] 42056 - Porsche 911 GT3 RS
N-4K0 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As far as I know, the people on this forum who create mocs on par with or above the Porsche, use Lego parts only. So what about that makes his creations "not real lego"? I wonder -

I prefer the manual up/down function, I think it would be too boring if there were almost no manual things to do. -

N-4K0 replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
To me it has been logical that the biggest set is the flagship. Among the upcoming sets, the BWE is the logical flagship to me, due to being the one with the biggest part count and overall biggest size. -
Technic in Real Life

In my last year at high school, or our equivalent to that, I went to the construction machine operator line. Due to that, I have driven - excavator, tracked and wheeled - hauler - small type of mining truck/dump truck - wheel loader - backhoe loader - road grader - bulldozer - tractor (shortly) - forklift (shortly)
