  1. Whoa whoa whoa. How the hell was Berty Town?? :wall: Peter was apparently Scum. And we got a verification on Chester...who was killed when and how? I'm missing something. I'm confounded. Nash and Chester, both Oak. I had one person pushing in private for Chester being Scum and one pushing for Nash. I even suspected Nash. I've got a major question about Chester. The chainsaw getting stuck, was that in Chester? Thank you!! I'll check these as soon as I can. Definitely. Unless Peter was the Serial Killer, then the day we had a stagnant vote was because it was Peter vs. Hazel. If we're right about all Scum being removed from the game then our Maples are: Alastair Barry Hazel Peter So there's 2-3 Maples left considering Peter might have been SK, correct?
  2. I believe this is playing outside the thread. One of the major assumptions we are making is that no Scum is revealed when a day thread starts. You made it clear you believed there is a janitor and hinted they would use it on you on Day Six to throw everybody off. Telling us twice in the discussion thread you expect to show up as a stump is continuing to play after you're dead and using the discussion thread to thinly veil that (assuming you're Scum). But even if you're Town, you shouldn't freaking hint towards any expectations. You should stop.
  3. Without the time to look into it, I thought that was what I remembered. Sammy's posts seemed to suggest so as well. I remember a conflict involving Alastair and Hazel. Berty had been poking Hazel until desperately jumping to her defense. I'm not convinced of anything. It's similar behavior which could indicate an overall strategy. I know that once it feels easy, that's when a Town can lose. We need to keep our guard up. That breadcrumb trail I keep referring too may be completely misread. It may lead to a candy house with a witch inside who wants to fatten us up and put us in the oven... sorry, took the metaphor too far. You've done a lot to get the Town organized on the codes, fantastic. That seems like a Townie thing to do, but boy this wine sure is tasty! Any ideas where else we should be looking? I've hosted games where the Town can't win unless they find the Serial Killer. In those instances I've put in the rules "to win, Town must kill all the Scum and any third-party". I was under the impression it was standard to differentiate.
  4. Tunnel vision? I admit I get tunnel vision. Case in point, my Hammerer theory. But, have you noticed this day thread is only 5 pages long? I've been swamped with school and haven't had the time to dig in the way I have in previous days. I haven't had enough time to really tunnel my vision on anything but I think Sammy makes a great point. You, Nash and Sue have been wrapped up in a little triangle of unjustified and seemingly half-hearted accusations. The dead Scum and Berty seem to have engaged in similar behavior. I think we have a good trail of bread crumbs to follow here. During the night I'd like to look back and analyze everyone's reactions to Barry's weird claim. Speaking of Barry, somebody was confused about this in private and I wanted to clarify in case anybody else was confused, there is a serial killer among us. At least that's what it appears. Who knows what is possible in Stump-land? But Occam's Razor, we have a serial killer. There was a third kill on Night 3, Barry's killer (not Bobby, the vig killed Bobby). And last night, the vig did not kill and I can't imagine the Scum took out Maggie who had a good amount of suspicion revolving around her inactivity. Checking the rules: It doesn't say we need to kill off the Maples and any third-party, so the SK can win with either side. Right now, that's bad news for us if we get down to six people with three Scum left, the existence of a Serial Killer tips the Scum number above ours. If we lynch another Scum today, SK please come into the light, we can give you some targets to speed us towards our win. This has been bouncing around in my head all night and there are other possibilities. Hell, two investigators, stumps... I mulled around the possibility that there are two Scum factions. The Maples and some sort of rouge[sic] tree. Without alignments revealed we wouldn't know we had two sets of enemies and they wouldn't know at first. On Day Two when Alastair wasn't revealed, one Scum team would realize the Scum don't get revealed and the other faction would wonder "Why the hell would the Town have a janitor?" I even thought maybe Chester and Hazel were on opposite sides and they had used their role cop on Chester and that's why Hazel and Berty were so persistent about lynching him. Bus an unknown Scum team to appear like Townies. Berty's post about me leading two bandwagons on Oaks still bugs me. Like lynching Chester was going to guarantee a non-stump in the morning. But, I think that theory belongs up on a shelf with my Hammerer theory. These sort of drifting-off thoughts are the reason I wake up thinking one of my alarm clocks is lying to me and I have to figure out which one.
  5. Oh, so you didn't. It felt like you did. Sorry. Don't forget how Nash started out voicing these suspicions on Day Four: Even if William is a vengeful scum, shouldn't this plan still be followed? 1 town for 1 scum isn't bad. Unless one gets janitored. Maybe that was the plan? This sounds a lot like you want to keep Simon around. I have felt for days that the codes are a sort of BS non-helpful thing a Maple would suggest to appear helpful but really confuse the town. Your attitude towards Simon weirds me out too - here you call him out, but earlier you tried to pull him out of harm's way by not having him vote for a possible "vengeful tree" - which is a claim I feel obliged to believe, because if not wouldn't it just be a lynch against him for no real reason? It feels like you're trying to distant yourself but also protect him. I think it's time for Adelaide or Simon to go. I think many oaks agree with me. Stop voting people off for asterisks, starting getting real stuff done. Simon called on us yesterday to stop only focusing on those younger saplings and start to focus on people who know how to play this sort of game. I agree. This is after a couple of days of saying how suspicious he is of me and Bruce but never placing a vote for us. So, indeed, all three have either voted for each other or made weak little pokes at each other like ^ that. All the Scum in one basket, perhaps? Sounds too good to be true, but also looks extremely suspicious.
  6. This is a great point. I know it's been made several times and I might even be repeating myself but why send a PM to a player you don't know and have never played with to ask what to do when there's a resource like Mafiawiki...or at least 4 other people you have played with... This had to have been a message from another Scum player, "Dragonfire, claim to Hinckley. Everyone always does. Be proactive." You read all of his game? You could've just switched to Chester. That's all you've done is tell us he's Scum. We'll be sure to lynch him if the Scum janitor your innocent Townie corpse.
  7. Well, that should be a relief for the maples. You could imagine what the answer could help tell us... Maybe send him a PM?
  8. Then who brings us presents at Christmas? Waldorf, n9254 targets?
  9. I full understand that. Think what your next question would be if you were me.
  10. We're mourning you, your highness...now your stumpness.
  11. I like this new term you're coining. Can we re-brand it numbskull? I like the sound better. I forgot to vote: Berty Birch (Dragonfire) for tickling Nash.
  12. Yes. I spent days talking to him (her? Lassie? ) about Berty's Miller claim. He's prolific. Just humor him. We've been hammering out your interaction with Barry and Berty for a while. It's helping, trust me. Answering his questions helps Oaks. Cool! Codes! Yay! Like Annie's secret decoder pin! "an oak but with one green leaf on it would have answered her;" I don't even need to look that one up. I'll communicate back when I have a claim from Peter. Peter?
  13. So, if you're lynch and become a stump, you would think Hazel is Scum then? Yes, yes. We all know you think Chester is Scummy for twisting Jack Pine's words, which Hazel did first but she's a Townie so it only makes him Scummy. Gotcha. If your intention is for us to lynch Chester last, mission accomplished. Well done. If you are indeed a Maple...which I think you are...so do the runes.
  14. "I'm glad you'll still lynch the Townies I'm accusing when I get 'janitored'" Which one of those is your Scum read? Peter, Chester, Sue or Nash? Generally, one doesn't have to adjust their analysis of players and mechanics to suit their defense. ...unless they're lying. That was implied but I thought I'd be clear just in case? Am I coming off like a dick? I just re-read my last few posts and they felt a bit condescending. Sorry. And yet I can't help myself. Oh, are you thinking he might be Scum? I miss Clem and Waldorf.
  15. Again, my magic runes are broken. They do seem to be spelling out "Lynch Berty". They could be wrong, but logic dictates that it's the lowest risk to take. They say you're doing an admirable job defending yourself. But they point out all of your logic hinges on "don't lynch me" and not an overall analysis of the game mechanics that we've seen evidence of. They admit they don't know for sure until they see your stump or your roots obliterated by dynamite...Don't talk to me, man. Talk to the runes. Maybe there are more Scum than normal because of the Stumps? Who came up with the neutral bomb gambit? That's kind of led to a path of destruction.
  16. OK, that's very good analysis. I'll no longer complain that you're on mechanics analysis duty. Sorry to disappoint you and your Scum buddies. Perverts. I'm too busy to check if this is a new tickle for you. I don't remember you having such a solid read on Berty before. I'll check when I have a chance though. Ping. This is megablocks. We now have no investigator now. And our magic runes of who is Oak and who is Maple aren't working. So where do you expect us to lead you? You're Town, right? () So, shouldn't you be helping to lead the Oaks in the right direction. Why separate yourself so far from the Town block? If you're going to believe for now that there's no janitor, haven't we just given you Hazel? And now we're leading you to Berty. Willing to see where we lead you? Willingly ignorant to see where we've led you is more like it. I even told him not to claim to me because he had no way of knowing what side I was on. And he trusted me anyway. A leap of faith, he called it. Stumps are much easier to like when they're not hurling grammar-error-laden threats at me.
  17. Yes, Lauren hands the Scum a free list of vanilla Townies. Which is why I don't like when you come to me with a list of those who hadn't claimed codes and basically ask which ones are in the Town block.
