Unrest in the Forest - Day 6: Hemispheres
Hinckley replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Berty, same question, did it just say Miller? Oh wait, don't answer. This could be considering using the structure of a role PM, I suppose... Maybe I can ask for a judgement from Alder? -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 6: Hemispheres

We already established that William didn't vote for any red. And I feel my vote for Hazel was credible since I poked her until she started doing Scummy things. Granted it was Town Berty's reaction that made me think she was Scum, but I think it's clear she was manipulating him. Unless by you, you didn't mean me. It's interesting to hear people suspicious of William. He has essentially disappeared. His only major gripe was that I found him suspicious and then he "cleared" himself by proving willing to use his vengeful action, something a Scum would never do. Well, of course they wouldn't if it was just a gambit. And what a freakin' genius gambit it would be if he's Scum. Like sociopathically brilliant. Anyone who wants to live through this game is afraid to place a hammer on him. And that's not even the traditional definition of vengeful. He's defining the Super Saint. Holy Tree would be a clever replacement. So, William's contribution has been to never vote for Scum, flip the hell out when I accuse him, scare anyone from hammering him and then disappear. Chester, what was the name of your role? Paraphrase it, don't quote the host... -

I realize my thought was incomplete there. Trying to do homework and Mafia at the same time... It's hard to bring myself to vote for Jack because being blocked can be totally circumstantial. I feel it's too risky at this stage of the game. But that stresses me out a bit because if we don't find a viable lynch candidate, then we're stuck with the same question about Jack tomorrow. And he has been really helpful with codes and mechanics but as pointed out repeatedly he doesn't talk about suspicions much. I know he has said he would get to his suspicions, but I don't remember him listing any. Has it happened? Lassie, are you still concerned about Sammy's behavior? n4244 If you take away Hazel, since it was a day when the two leading lynch candidates were Scum (no wonder Hazel was trying to get Berty to vote Chester, duh...) then Sammy technically hasn't voted red either. It would be stupid to be around during that day end and not cast a vote for her, if he was Scum. Jack has the highest amount of red meaning that if he is Scum, he's doing exactly what he's accused Adelaide of doing. So, he's analyzed her vote by criteria that his vote could also be analyzed as Scum. Am I understanding his analysis of Adelaide's votes correctly? -

Thanks Catarina and Sammy. Catarina, I know I asked for Stump advice and then basically ignored it. It's hard to bring myself to vote for Jack Someone brought this up in private and my first thought was that it was ridiculous and my second thought is...maybe? Each of the missing trees is a different size. Could size matter? Is it possible that each group of trees, by size, contains one Scum? Games aren't supposed to be set up this way which is what makes me doubt it. But what do you guys think? Could there be something to that or is someone trying to distract me from productive Scum-hunting? -

I tried pasting it into Excel. Waldorf, this is a very important message for you to translate (SWZM): Hh su yueo ntlss ciaac mo rgig ooeu kt I really hope you can decipher it. Don't bother, really. It's just meant to waster the Scum's time the way I feel mine is being consumed right now. megabluck you, Scum! -

Everyone would be great. Sometimes Scum adopt a similar pattern. I have class in 4 hours and haven't done my homework yet. I can't believe I'm 38 and neglecting school work for Mafia. I need to concentrate on that. I'll look at the votes for a minute or two though and see if I can figure anything out. Thanks for finding that, Sammy. I really don't feel good about this game day. Wow, that's really hard to read. I wonder if I meant another vote analysis. I wish we had more time. -

Don't give up everyone! We could be just two Scum away from winning this. Focus. If everybody looks at behavior and voting patterns we can still take this. I really want to find that voting analysis that Berty started so we can fill in the rest of what we know, but I'm swamped with school. We still have time to make a solid informed decision on who to lynch. Does anyone know which analysis I'm referring to? Can you point me to the quote? If I have time, I'll add the other days to it so we can all take a look for patterns. Lassie, that's another thing that's been pinging me. Vote analysis is your strong suit yet I don't recall seeing any from you. Let's see it! Take a look. We can do this! -

I agree with this. As Lassie pointed out, nothing is random about these decisions. Considering the stump aspect of the game and the Scum having to alter their strategy of who to kill, I think all three might be looking at the same type of target. Also, in the infamous Forest II, the Serial Killer tricked the Scum by choosing not to kill. Maybe the Scum forgot to get their Night Action in. That's happened before too. Or maybe the Scum blocked the Serial Killer. Maybe there's some wacky Stump-land option we haven't even considered. There are all sorts of options and this sort of "discovery" lynch is risky this late in the game. I'm not feeling confident about any of our options. This is frustrating. unvote: Lassie Sassafrass (fhomess) Sue fought against Peter's lynch? I thought she voted second for him... A lot of people have mentioned Sue as a suspicion today and yet nobody is voting for her... -

That thought makes me want to puke. What do the stumps think? It's easier to see things from outside sometimes. Anything clear to you guys about who would make a good lynch today? -

I hope I'm going crazy. But I wasn't suggesting that if there was a janitor they had targeted all Townies. Rudimentary mathematics is a speciality of mine. True. Barry was not a neutral bomb converting into a killer. -
Unrest in the Forest - Day 6: Hemispheres
Hinckley replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
It wasn't about weird theories, it was about conflicting and potentially purposely misleading ideas. It started to ping me when she suspected Chester. Sorry I'm the only one who finds that weird, but her thinking that he needed to be lynched or vig-killed struck me as odd since we knew Hazel tried to draw suspicion away from herself onto him and Super-Scummy Berty actually seemed desperate to have him lynched as opposed to Hazel. Then she seemed to conflict herself by going after Sammy in-thread while suggesting Dragonfire's list of who he was willing to vote for possibly contained two Scum, being Sue or Adelaide. All of those pings culminated with the talk of Bruce being converted, which I highly doubt is possible. It was if when I told you to let her ask you as many questions as she wanted she got the nerve to start trying to manipulate the town block. Berty flipping Oak certainly didn't help since he spent two days building a case against him in private. Haven't I said all of this already? I feel like I'm repeating myself. I have to agree with this 100%. Just because we were cleared by dead investigators doesn't mean we are clairvoyant. I realize I'm a bit manic, suspecting everyone. I do feel a bit overwhelmed but I'm trying. I feel continuous poking helped us on Day Four when we caught Hazel. If we're going to work on people, we should all pitch in. We're down to the wire, let's put some pressure on the people who are suspicious. Speaking of being manic, I know that other people who have mentioned the idea of a janitor have pinged me. But let's consider for a second that there is one. Jack was blocked on the only night we didn't lose a stump. Is there something to that or am I crazy? Please tell me I'm crazy. I know that Peter and Barry make bad janitor targets but being Scum doesn't make you a good strategist. Wasn't it Jack himself that explained why Waldord would've made a better janitor target than Barry? -

If I ever get my own sitcom, it will be called this. It's suspicious that you can only think of one reason for withholding information; to catch Scum. Can't think of the other reason? Perhaps because you're stuck in Scum PerspectiveTM. I shall call you "Fox News". Of course you didn't ask "Will you have the vig target Chester?". That's not how it would be played. But saying you thought Chester was the last Scum and asking if we should lynch him or have the vig take him out is the same as asking. It's a subtle way to try to get me to talk about the subject of what Chester claimed and who the vig might be targeting. If the Scum came up and asked me who was targeting who, it'd be a pretty easy win. I also love Math, but that has nothing to do with this. I asked for clarification and you said that Berty's statement about being willing to vote for four people was proof of your theory about every group of four players contains two Scum or at least one. Containing two or at least one is not quantifiable with your equation. And his list of who he would vote for having two Scum in it doesn't prove anything and I don't every remember hearing this theory before that. And why would anyone base a vote off of it? Let's grab four random players and kill them all because two must be Scum. WACKO! Thinking that Chester was the last remaining Scum and then making a case against three others, but dismissing Sue is wishy-washy. Think hard. You may come up with it. You didn't. Somebody else did. I can't remember who. I'll find it. Don't you worry. Sorry I mixed your PM up with someone else's. How did he "lose it"? -

I know someone who's going to be suspended from games for a while. That's a lie, Berty. That's not what he claimed when he was alive. Why would the claim be different now that he's dead. Think about it. He's a dirty manipulator and he's lying to you. I'm going to have a talk with the host about Hazel's behavior. You should delete your PM thread. The rule goes both ways. Hazel, it's a game. Stop breaking rules if you ever want to play again. -

You must have sent first. So, Jack Pine was blocked on Night Two and it's the only night we haven't seen a stump removed... While I like the idea that only Oaks are stumped, it's worth considering the other possibility. -

There was only one killer. Fear. No, wait. It was Quarryman. And the megablocks killed me. I doubt any host wants to tarnish their name by repeating an atrocity like Witch Hunt. Just kidding, Adelaide. I loved that game. Classic. Jerk. That is strange. Speaking of you and your belief in a janitor, that reminds me of some other Scummy Lassie moves. He is the one that pointed out Barry must've known who was killed at night since he switched back and forth between saying he'd kill Bobby or Clem. Then when we all (mostly all) started believing that Scum were just removed and not stumped, I pointed out that his theory no longer made sense and he brushed it off with "Once the game is over, I look forward to hearing the explanation of Barry's actions that night." And, in private, he was promoting your dumb idea that Hazel was an Oak. Anyone who believes that is suspect. With the special exception of Berty. Has there been one body non-stumped every night except for Night Two?? -

Bruce thought that you were a bad lynch. Then he thought if anyone voted for Jack, they were Scum. So then he was contradicting himself. Now he can't help but take my suspicion of you more seriously. Bruce and I may need couples counseling when this is all through. Anyway, why am I suspicious of you, Lassie? Oh, let me count the ways. You average less than 10 posts a day and yet you say so much more in private. Our PM conversation is 124 messages long. I have trouble trusting someone who feels they need to play in private. You spent two days talking to me about Dragonfire's miller claim. Now that we know he's an Oak, that's suspect. Two days undermining a Townie. I thought he was Scum the way he was behaving and your suspicion wouldn't be suspicious if it wasn't coupled with other things. Like yesterday when you said Chester was your greatest suspicion and would we lynch him or would I be targeting him in the night? Fishing for night actions and suspecting another Townie, which made little sense to me since if you thought Hazel and Berty were both Scum I would imagine Chester would be somewhere in the middle range of your suspicion. Why would Hazel and Berty trying to lynch him be enough for the vig to target him? After telling me Chester was your top suspicion you went on to talk about how great the points that Sammy made were about Sue, Nash and Adelaide. However, you dismiss his suspicion of Sue and talk about Nash and Adelaide. The vig thought Nash was suspicious enough to kill him, granted, but there's another Townie you try to build a case against, in private. I found Nash and Berty both to be very Scummy too, but once a person shows up as Oak that would generally mean we can stop suspecting them. But not you. Today, you tried to base a theory off of who Berty said he'd be willing to vote for. Did you forget Berty's alignment had been revealed and you couldn't base things on him being Scum? Then, when I called you out on that, you bring up some theory about any group of four players contains two Scum or at least one. You even wrote it out algebraically. Something like b=u/ll*sh-it2. Your newest fun theory is that Bruce has been converted. Also, you started the day suspecting Sammy whose theories you liked yesterday. Lastly, for now, you keep fishing fishing fishing about the blocker in private and public. Why would an Oak need to know about the timing of me revealing that? That's where my suspicions come from without even reading over our PM conversation to see if there's anything else. I will do that tomorrow as I am up way too late with homework and wanted to make this case before going to bed. Thank you for being so Scummy and causing me to go to bed late. You are the direct cause of my lack of sleep. I seem to remember William complaining that you were PMing him a lot as well. Why are you playing your entire game in Scummy private? vote: Lassie Sassafrass (fhomess) wishy-washy, fishy-fashy, behind-the-scenes, algebraic, megablocks-meter-through-the-roof. Oh, nutty fudgekins. In point 3 above, to clarify, it should read "would we lynch him or would the vig take care of him during the night?". Sorry. I'm tired and I ran two thoughts together. It's Scummy to ask who the vig will be targeting. Especially considering that's who the Scum ended up killing. I have the feeling the Scum thought Chester was the vig and that's why he wasn't getting any bandwagon momentum. By they way, shout out to Chester for playing the bomb perfectly. Fishing for if the vig would be killing Chester is painfully suspicious. Ouch, it hurt me. What the hell am I saying? I need to go to sleep and stop saying things... ZZZzzzzzzzzz -
