Um, point of order: Licensed means other companies IPs. Ninjago is directly and entirely TLG's IP, they created and developed it. Other companies have the contract to produce cartoons, games and books. Superman is a DC (Warner) IP, LEGO has the license to produce brick based building toys based on this IP.

ASDA never sells at RRP, always under it by at least a little. One example is Sainsbury's had the Boulder Blaster at £25, ASDA has it £22.97. Not a huge drop but a fair enough discount. There is also clearance pricing at times, to make way for new sets. I always get good deals at this time of year.

Actually, a significant anniversary can be marked all through the anniversary year. There may be extra effort on the precise day, but something as fluid as a toy launch date (that varies from market to market) is impossible to pin to one day. So these sets do mark the fifth year of the theme.

Which angle are you going to highlight? Is It NinjaFriends or a FriendsNinja? I mean, if the Ninja thing is now a sculpture or kiddie-ride in Heartlake than Town would be best. If Mia has decided to follow the path of a shinobi, then it is probably more Ninjago. That's how I aim with any mash-ups I attempt.
