Fast Alternative to Bevel in LDD2POV
Superkalle replied to JM1971's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I like 1.0 best Joking aside, I have to agree that 0.025 looks best for this model Thanks for doing the testing! -
Fast Alternative to Bevel in LDD2POV
Superkalle replied to JM1971's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Looks great. Maybe the shrinkage are a tiny, tiny bit too much though. How would it look if you chose for example 0.015? -
Hello cassi_91 and welcome to Eurobricks. I'm moving your topic to our Town section, where I think you'll get better help on general designs questions. The Digital Design Forum is actually more geared towards questions and topic about digital tools and similar. However, you are welcome back to the Digital Design forum if you have issues and questions about LDD

Revert LDD to fix shock absorber
Superkalle replied to JM1971's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Good question. Firstly, I normally only report brick issues to the LDD Team, and when I do that they sometime hint to me that they are planning a fix "shortly" so I can pass it on here. The info about "a couple of weeks" is in all honestly my guess, based on how long time these sort of things usually take. Secondly, about the launch issue, I honestly don't know since I focus on the brick bugs and not so much SW bugs. Also it's kind of tricky with launch issues, because they tend to be sporadic and/or difficult to pin-point; Sometimes they are due to server issues, sometimes because of issues on the users computer, and sometimes because of...well, other things. In this case, I'd call the LEGO Customer Services, because then the LDD Team would get reports also through the official channels which actually sometimes is more effective then it coming from us in the community. -
NEW LDD Brickset out - 1392
Superkalle replied to Lyichir's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm not sure exactly what your remark has to do with the latest brickset? That type of file has been created in the appdata folder for many versions of LDD whenever you try to load a file with unplacable bricks. Do a search here in the forum, and I you'll find a lot of good info about the file, and how you can use it to identify the parts being removed. -
Revert LDD to fix shock absorber
Superkalle replied to JM1971's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
From what I've been told, the LDD Team are working on fixing the shock absorber issue, along with the color palette in LDD mode. So if you can hold out for a few weeks, it should get fixed. -
Hello and welcome to Eurobricks. I'm moving this topic to the Special Themes secions here at Eurobricks, where I think you will get more and better feedback (despite the fact the model was done in LDD).

Yes it does, but not the new bricks, only the old ones. I'm working on an update though. -
Problem bending tube 71986
Superkalle replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
What Zblj meant is that 71986 is indeed flexible in LDD, and he wanted you simply to do a quick check in LDD yourself before replying. I understand your reply was meant in the best of intention, so I think this was just a case of an experienced forum and LDD user meeting a newer one (now, how's that for diplomacy ) As a general comment, when you see that someone has a "LDD Builder"-tag, you can normally estimate that they ask valid questions (and I'm mentioning that to bak318 also). The LDD tag is awarded to LDD users that have been here in the forum for some time, or has a high skill in LDD. There is an equivalent tag for Ldraw users. In this case, what Zblj is asking for is someone with programming or "manual LXFML-tweaking" skills, such as bbqqq to help curve the 71986. Now, let's see if someone picks up the bone (pun intended) -
LDD brick #64230 interpretation
Superkalle replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
A question: 64230 is a flex part. Does other flex parts in LDD export correctly to LDR? Or is it only 64230 that causes problems? -
LDD brick #64230 interpretation
Superkalle replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm not sure I understand the question/issue to be honest. -
Amazing!!! There are a few small thing that still give it away as a rendering, but it's becoming increasingly hard to find them. So I'm only mentioning the following super-small details because everything is so good, they are the only things left 1) There is something odd about how this looks. I believe the hole should be a bit larger - or it could be something about the way the radius/bevels should be. Not sure 2) Here you can still see some anomaly where it looks as though the bricks fuse together. 3) Here you can see that the the bricks are still a fraction too translucent.

Well built But I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 1), since from what I can see, there are indeed the 4x2 wedges in the LDD Model About 2, I'm not sure what you mean by "I prefered to replace". The purpose of this topic is to create exactly the model as in the building instruction, without modifications or customization (unless required because of issues in LDD of course).

Make sure you have switched to Extended Mode...you have more choices of bricks there: In LDD; on the View Menu > New Themes > Extended If you can't find the brick there, it's not available in LDD.

I'm moving this to our Town section as I think you'll get more and better feedback there than in the Digital Design forum.

I agree...excellent work. Would you mind to make a topic about it here in the forum. I think it's such a nice tutorial, it could warrant it's own topic
