Illegal design from TLG. And no easy workaround either as far as I can tell.

LDD crashes over 40-50 thousand bricks
Superkalle replied to milovan's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Ha, ha....yes...the reason is my brain is failing me and I can't calculate 48x48 -
LDD crashes over 40-50 thousand bricks
Superkalle replied to milovan's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm not sure I follow what you want to communicate Dilvish The topic is about viewing many bricks in LDD, not Ldraw (which in this respect probably is much better then LDD). Hm, why does a 48x48 baseplate have so many more polygons in memory. The LDD gemoetry itself probably doesn't have more then 2100 or so I would assume (44x48)? -
Yepp, the non-beveled version never existed. (at least not to my knowledge...) Or put in another way - it has always looked the same. Just pick one up and you'll see it has rounded corners (same rounding as the 1x2 slope). Now, if the corners in LDD are too rounded compared to a physical brick, then that is something that could be adjusted, but IMHO it's better to have them rounded, then 100% sharp corners like before, because those made the MOC in LDD look different (too precise/good) compared to real life.
-
I'm not really sure I follow your comment. The cheese slope now looks like it's supposed to do (and has always done - with rounded edges). What's the problem? Personally I think it's great that it's been updated so LDD better reflects how a MOC will look in real plastic.

Fixed here. I just grabbed the 60478 and allowed it to snap a tiny bit to the right. The "bug" is that the 60478 doesn't snap exactly to the center of 61252. nindroid_mechdragon_carfix.lxf

70722 - not sure if is an illegal design from TLG and not bug in LDD 70724 - confirm that it seems a collision error 70725 - it will fit if you just move the two 60748 a tiny little bit (some nudging "bug")

LDD FoV = 30 = binoculars + duct tape.
Superkalle replied to Alcom1's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'll bring you into the PM to jamesster. You guys need to understand this is a serious forum, and if you want use an "over-dramatic writing style", then there are other forums on the internet where you can do that. -
LDD crashes over 40-50 thousand bricks
Superkalle replied to milovan's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I'm not aware if there any changes in 4.3.8 that reduces the amount of bricks you can view. So should be the same amount as discussed previously in this topic. -

Please avoid these kind of meaningless outbursts. This is a forum for AFOLs = Adult fans of LEGO. We need to have a talk. Sending PM. -

Agree. But parts are not released in LDD until the sets they're in are in the shops....unfortunately

[Software] LDD2PovRay
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That's strange, because 2412 is there as far as I can tell. I'm moving this over to the LDD2PovRay topic. -
Just got informed that you can download the new LDD directly from here: http://cache.lego.com/downloads/ldd2.0/installer/setupLDD-PC-4_3_8.exe http://cache.lego.com/downloads/ldd2.0/installer/setupLDD-MAC-4_3_8.zip I only tested with the PC version, and it works. Will get back soon with info about news, but preliminary there are no changes in the software itself, only added bricks.

I just had a look at the model too now, and that is a huge error with the stud on the rear that can't be fitted. Almost 1 mm that the bricks collide from what I can tell.

Really great looking MOC. Feels really "fresh" somehow with the color scheme and all. Moving it to Town forum

Head on over here to download. And then discuss and comment here

Hello Alient_Ant2. You posted your question in a 2 year old topic (that related to a very old version of LDD), so I split this into a new topic for you. Secondly, did you try the tip by Brickdoctor in that original topic to use Ctrl-K? Yes, you'll have to save the file to disk first, but it will give you a transparent PNG.
