  1. Completed. Will your thesis be published on-line or in any other way?
  2. Excellent, excellent and .... excellent (PS: Topic title changed as instructed...)
  3. Prizes are "global" i.e. only one set of prices for all themes Depends on what kind of car. If it's a City style car, it would go under Town. If it's a Technics car, it would go under Technics etc.
  4. Here's the 8097 Slave I. Only major problem are the semi-cicles around the stabilizers that don't exist in LDD. It's a pity since it's a center piece on this particular model. LXF here And if you want to see how my mod looks, you can find it here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=42887
  5. Benefits society? Well, I dunno, bu I use Lego bricks under some of my furniture legs to take up the unevenness of the floor No, but seriously, it's an interesting topic you've brought up. I know TLG has experimented with (and supported) many business oriented applications over the years: Lego InMotion Modulex SeriousPlay Production Plant Visualization Lean Manufacturing games Mindstorms / robotics learning at universities LDD/Virtual building Right now however, I get the feeling TLG is going back to the roots and are focusing on their core business - Toys. EDIT: Regarding how Lego can be used for everyday objects, I recall seeing a site/blogg about this some time ago. A long list of really cool uses of Lego that people had discovered. But this was more on a household/personal level rather then business.
  6. + 1 to Henning M. for sending me the gift box from the Lego Museeum. Fantastic gesture!! Thanks Henning
  7. Well, I agree that the 6209 is in some respects better, but I think a combination of the two might have been the ultimate flying vessel.
  8. Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted...sublte changes that I wish TLG could have done in the first place
  9. Here's how I would have liked TLG to make the new 8097 Slave I The TLG verion on the left, my mod on the right. I've tried not to go beserk on the design, just some moddest changes, like smaller guns, and 2 stud longer rear fuselage. And with color, much of the dark grey replaced by light grey and a tad more sand green. I guess you could argue about the color of those semicirlces around the stabilizers, but in my mind dark grey looks more realistic than the too brightish dark green. And of course sand red would have looked much better than dark red, but since sand red is no longer in the Lego color scheme, I couldn't use it. Note: the "Round Corner 6 x 6 x 2" is missing in LDD, so I had to replace it with some home made stuff for the time being. EDIT: You can download the LDD file here and play around with your own color scheme:
  10. G'day Mate Welcome to Eurobricks. I'm not an Aussie myself, but we have quite a few here at EB Hope you're going to enjoy it here!
  11. Just noticed that the minifig collectors series 1 is now sold out at Shop@Home in Europe (checked for Sweden, Germany, UK). Stlll seems to be available in US.
  12. Hey, I agree it. It's just friggin awesom. Hey, Zjblj - maybe you should apply for that design job at TLG
  13. Sure, it's OK. We're not going to be that tough in the judgement
  14. Hi there A very warm welcome Hope you're going to like it here among peers
  15. No prob Greenskull. And good luck with your creation!
  16. Welcome to Eurobricks Eduard. Hope you will enjoy it here!
  17. The answer to this is allready stated in the previous posts, but I'll take it again: If your old MOC has never been published, then YES you can use it since there is no way anybody could know if it's old or new. If your old MOC has at one time been published, then NO you cannot use it.
  18. Hi, Sorry, I would have to say no. And I appreciate your honesty in asking The whole thing about the "LDD + Real bricks" class is that you design something in LDD first and then build it with physcial bricks. This to promote LDD as a really good first stage design tool. And remember, it doesn't have to be a big MOC. Naturally, you're always welcome to enter the "LDD Only" class too.
  19. I'll rephrase myself - It depends if your MOC has allready been published on the internet: If it has, you cannot enter it into the contest (it's concidered recycled). If it hasen't, you can enter it i the contest.
  20. Base sure is that you can only use the colors that Lego has produced that particular part in. However, if you can't find that specific color in LDD, and it is as similar as you descrive, then Yes you can substitute like that. Sorry, you can not use old MOCs that have allready been published. If the MOC has never been published, then you can use it, or if the MOC was published just recently (the last few days/weeks) we could make an exception, and you can uset it.
  21. This was certainly a tought one. Wow, so many good entries. Here's my vote 1 point to legitimatealex 1 point to Sandy 1 point to Noodles140
  22. It's kind of funny with these threads sometimes. We all just write and don't always read what's allready been said. For example, a couple of posts up is one reason why the Architecture sets are more expensive. And regarding the Fallingwater, there's an awful lot of tan plates in there, so you get a least some value for your money (but I'm not saying it's not expensive). Now we're talking. Or any building outside the US for a change.
  23. Welcome to Eurobricks. WhAt! noW i GOt A PROBLEM WITH cAPs too Sorry about that bad joke - Welcome and hope you enjoy it here at Eurobricks!
