  1. Thanks for the nice comments on the contest. And you're more than welcome to join the rest of us LDD geeks/users/superpeople (chose whichever suits you best) here at the LDD forum. That's a good question, and the answer is yes, it's OK to use generic figures as a representation if it's only the print that's missing in LDD. However you cannot use a part that's not in LDD (like the Darth Vaders Helmet).
  2. Hi Holodoc. Welcome to this corner of the EB forum I've made a tool you can use to find if a part exists in LDD and if so, in which category it can be found. Check it out here. Freeware of course Anyway, perhaps you and your son should enter the LDD Design contest? Cheers Superkalle PS: Like that South African horn (can't remember what it's called) you got in your Avatar. Even though I can't stand the sound of it on TV
  3. Thanks, I'll have to fix that! No, sorry, not for MAC Thanks! If there is anything missing, please let me know!
  4. When you do mouse-over on a link to another post on the forum, it says "External Link", which is kind of confusing. Like this (mouse over to see)
  5. Don't worry. From what I hear there will be more parts, a lot of bug fixes and some additional "really cool features". We'll see EDIT: And don't forget this is a request from the DbM team at Lego, not the LDD team, so when the press release comes out for the new LDD version, it will hopefully contain a lot more info.
  6. Some official information from LEGO: ===================== Dear LEGO Fan, By September 2010 LEGO Customization and the LDD team presents LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) 4.0 with many new, cool features. As a part of the launch Design byME will also introduce an update of the opening page in LDD. The new opening page will include more starter models than today and we’ll also introduce three different “completion levels” of the starter models. By introducing the completion levels we hope to make it easier for the less experienced builders to use LDD. The users can the choose starter models from “Just begun”, “Halfway” and “Finished”. Each level offers different challenges whether the user just want to change colours, add-on or built from almost scratch. To get a wide variety in the types of models we hereby invite you to help creating starter models for the new Design byME opening page. We need models in the following categories which you can freely choose from: Animals, Buildings, Fantasy, Places, Space, Vehicles (and Other). To honour the new concept of “Completion Levels” we ask you to save and deliver the creations in 3 .lxf files (the LDD file format) – one for each level (ie. named: Car 1, Car 2 and Car 3). Before launching in September we’ll select the models that will be part of the new opening page. The designers of the used models will be credited on http://www.designbyme.lego.com. We hope that you are interested in taking part of this opportunity and look forward to receive your models by email (jacob.agertoft@lego.com) before August 1st 2010. All the best and happy building, The LEGO Design byME team. ================== Please note that they are not saying anything about which palette they want the models to be based on, but my guess is the very limited DbM palette. I guess if you are doing something nice for the LDD contest, you can also sent that to LEGO, but don't forget then to strip it down to only the bricks in the DbM palette.
  7. In my mind the MOCs are nice as they are without having to resors to that sort of technique. Kind of blurs what is Lego building and what is not.
  8. The search function is still not working with short search terms, Like "MOC", "LDD" etc Also, when you do search for e.g. MOC, you get back "No results found" which is incorrect and throughs the user off. It should say "Your search term is too short" Is it a IP.board restriction or something that is specific to EB?
  9. I can fit them quite easily, so I'm not sure what you mean?
  10. Strange with the parasol, because it fits fine here Try again. And shouldn't the color of the glass be black transparent? Sorry, being picky again, but the reason is that I see this library we're building up here as a great asset for other users in the future, and then the LDD models need to be as accurate as possible. Thanks!
  11. Hi AndyC I see you too have been productive when the board was down But can you please downsize your images. They take up a bit too much real estate in your posts. Reduce somewhat would be good.
  12. Professor - please read carefully the instructions for this thread. The images should be downsized much more. You can't post images in the original size. Look how Prateek has done with the image of "7751 Ahsoka's Starfighter & Vulture Droid" in the post above. That's the size we want! And BTW, In the Pizza-to-go, why is not the parasol placed on it's stand? Also, a question: Is the windscreen on the car in the fire station transparent black or clear transparent?
  13. Important TIP to everyone regarding placing minifig torsos onto the legs. I see some of you have gaps between the torso and legs. You can eliminate the gap by simpling draging the torso down a bit more with your mouse for a perfect fit.
  14. I'm probably going to get flamed, but being a purist, I think the chrome wheels are a bit too much. The models themselves are so increadibly fantastic that they don't need that non-original-Lego bling-bling. ....ok, go ahead, flame me....I can take it...
  15. Well, I kind of figured. I just had to be a smart megablocks, didn't I
  16. Good find. Concider it reported! (However, you can actually place round 1x1 brick and plates in that place)
  17. Getting better all the time professor, now it's just the skin tone of the minifigs left Sorry for being picky, but in this topic the idea is to get as absolute close to the orginal as possible, so please mind the details.
  18. It's silly time! I don't know about you, but doesn't this look like a giant........Canon? Or maybe a..... (It'a NXT 9842 Servo Motor) And while we're on the subject, what this supposed to be? It sure doesn't look like one
  19. Hi Very welcome to Eurobricks. Hope you will enjoy it here
  20. Hi Hemish Lovely to see another AFOL joining in. Welcome to Eurobricks!
  21. 1) You can add the string and put it next to the model and add a comment. 2) You got it. No custom parts allowed
  22. I keep record of all the wanted bricks and have a dialouge with Lego about this. As soon as I get the list with bricks they are going to add for the next version, I will get back here at the forum and we can have a discussion about it.
  23. Excellent work Prateek. I didn't even know about the glitch with the stop axle. I'll report it to LEGO. When you update a model, please edit the original post, instead of posting the new version in a new post. Thanks!
