  1. That's a pretty amazing flock of birds, especially with all the parts which I would never have even imagined to use in such a way. Well done!
  2. The use of monorail tracks is a very interesting and faithful re-creation or a real driving mechanism, and the monorail engine appears to have just the right power for operation so the connection between the engine and the bridge does not fall apart when 'pulling' the entire thing. But there are some other fine details as well, especially the pit wall made of masonry bricks. Good luck with the rest of the layout.
  3. Another great creation from your hands. The curved lines on the front end are really original. Hope you could resume this work some day.
  4. Nice review of a classic set. I'm glad that you also included the re-designs that emerged in the following years, as my first though when seeing the picture of it was 'This one looks just like the tractor from 6541 Intercoastal seaport, which was one of my favourite childhood sets'.
  5. That's the way that I mostly do it, especially when building houses or any larger buildings. I build it with mostly plain walls first and then take most of it apart and add details. Sometimes I don't have all the details in my mind beforehand and many times I get the ideas along the way as I build.

    Lego underwear

If it was so, I hope it would be made of plenty of flexible parts and hinges to make it comfortable at least and have no exposed studs inside, especially on the back.
  7. The auction would probably be the best way to find out if it has any value. An average Lego fan that seeks a MISB set on Bricklink or Ebay probably won't go in for the signatures. As they are the factor that makes this set unique, it might also be interesting to find out what would be the value of the signed empty box without the contents.
  8. Very well done! The dimensions are simply impressive as well as the details such as scoreboard and ice resurfacer. Now it only needs players and a capacity crowd full of excitement.
  9. Another nice remake. Though I must say that this one looks very colourful. Keep up the good work.
  10. I completely agree with this. Though I generally also disapprove of modifying the bricks, I must admit that it was worth to do it here. The drilled jumpers are not disturbing at all and I like that you also included a vintage tube map inside.
  11. Really cool. Though if I had to do something like this, I would first have thought of using a technic plate - I simply cannot do that much harm to lego.
  12. Tower Bridge, about 12 hours. But I deliberately kept quite slow building pace and didn't sort the pieces first and built the sections in parallel as I wanted to enjoy constructing it as much as possible.
  13. This is really a nice design. What I like especially are the power cords looking as ornaments, very clever detail.
  14. I think that 'not being really into lego' might be a certain advantage for her, no need for thinking about advanced building techniques and all that complex stuff, just let the imagination run free. All the scenes are very beautiful, they are simple but complete. Congratulations to her from me too.
  15. Amazing work. The building is equally impressive outside and inside. Some details really stand out, like the smooth curve of the wall on the ground level, antenna and your 'signature' on the back wall. Well done!
  16. From my point of view (father of two huge Thomas fans), this is simply amazing! When looking at this, I could almost hear Ringo Starr's voice.
  17. This is exactly the way that I started with trains few years ago. Keep in mind that if you want to build a proper train you'll need some very specific parts (and some of them in larger quantities), so the easiest way to start is to get a regular train set first. Bricklink is also an option to buy individual train engines or carriages from official sets, but individual units will always be proportionally more expensive than the entire set, regardless if it still in production or not.
  18. Congratulations for your first moc. It looks very nice both inside and outside. The best parts are the cyclist sign on the roof and the awning going around the corner. Just two suggestions: what about removing the middle brick in the right column of the letter 'B' in bike sign? It looks a bit like the number 8 the way it is built now. And if there is no room to take a proper photo of a certain detail, it is always possible to temporarily remove a part of the creation to get a good shot of it. Keep up the good work.
  19. Well, 30011 Police Dinghy from 2010 has this kind of 'catalog' printed on back side of the instructions, though the reason for including it might just as well be the fact the instructions are extremely short and consequently something had to be put on the other side. But nevertheless it is a nice reminder of these mini fold-out catalogs from classic town/castle/space era.
  20. Spent twelve hours at Lego exhibition in which our LUG has been invited to participate. Another six hours to follow tomorrow.
  21. Amazing. It looks much better than previous modulars. It's nice to see that the modulars are contanstly improving on small details.
  22. I have 10 years of formal music education (french horn and piano as well as theoretical subjects such as harmony and counterpoint) and music was my main hobby for some 15 years (both playing and creating), most notably during my lego dark ages . Though just recently I came out of my 'music dark ages' and started playing piano again, just for my pleasure.

    MOC: Barbershop

Very nicely done, and yes, the scissors are definitely the best part of this moc. Both those representing the shop sign and those that the barber holds in the hand.
  24. The incorporation of the museum into an old tower is a very clever idea. The clock - both the dial and the mechanism - is the most genuine detail of the entire creation. Though the dial on the real medieval tower would most likely have hour marks in Roman numerals, but these would be much more difficult to represent on this scale. Well done!
  25. Great MOC, the scale that matches the size of the original building in the picture is amazing. The details are fantastic, especially the windows. Very well done.
