  1. Those are the US non-shooting cannons. In the rest of the world the cannons could shoot Apparantly US children can't be trusted with dangerous toys.
  2. Maybe someone should edit the post a few lines above, so we don't have to load ALL the pictures again here on page 3. Thanks for all the positive comments and the interesting views on the ship's design and color scheme. The new QAR cabin area looks very much like the SES cabin which is kind of cool and a great tribute to SES (although unintentional). I hope to find the time to spice up this review even more, as there are still some pictures I am unhappy with.
  3. Feel free to buy my Imperial Trading Post :P - check out my Bricklink store ;) My favourite theme has always been Pirates. I remember the first time I saw the first teaser image of the pirate and captain Redbeard in 1989, LEGO instantly became my favourite toy, and I only wanted LEGO for birthdays and christmasses
  4. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing... I tried to guess, but the only thing I ever came close with was "keys" I really didn't understand how the game worked. Can someone enlighten me?
  5. We need to applaud LEGO for making a minifig Penelope Cruz. I cant wait to see how she looks
  6. Wow - thank you gwenju, so much for sharing those pictures. I woke up in the middle of the night here in Denmark and just checked eurobricks on my iPhone for the heck of it... When I saw that new and final pics had gone up, I spent almost half an hour just looking at them. I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the theme as a whole, and especially impressed with QAR. What I also like is the fact that Jack Sparrow is different in each set, and you can get all the important figs like Will, Elizabeth, Jack, Barbossa and Blackbeard in the smaller cheaper sets. Great call LEGO. Gotta love the many many new hats, hair pieces and mermaid tails, PLUS the globe and bones. I cannot wait to get my hands on these sets!
  7. This is sad news - my thoughts are with his family and friends. He will surely be missed in the community. He did wonderful things for us all.
  8. Wow - I really love the tree. You can easily see what kind of tree it is. Great work on such a small MOC :)
  9. Yummy - this is very very nice. As others already told you, this is simple, elegant, beautiful and I also think that you've managed to create some great dirt below the temple
  10. There seem to be some excellent design features on the QAR - I think that the cabin area is pretty well constructed, and the fact that the middle mast has three sails makes it look really great.
  11. I agree - there are so many signs that these pictures are still of prelim boxes. But I guess the actual design of the sets are close to finished IMO
  12. Excellent and very thorough review with great clear pictures. This should definitely be frontpaged - also because it is a review of a formerly MISB set, making the review even more appealing and educational
  13. Whoa - excellent review of a set that looks extremely well designed. There are so many great details and the new pieces and faces are also great. Thanks for the thorough review. Great pictures
  14. QAR: 1097 pcs - yummy But it will probably not be as detailed as most people had wished for though.
  15. There are so many wonderful ships... I am in awe of those who have the talent to build such beautiful ships out of LEGO. I decided to cast my votes not necessarily on ships that are 100% realistic, but on ships that are pleasing to my eyes. In no particular order: 6 La Mort Royale: 1 point 9 Nuestra Senora de la Conception: 2 points 11 Le Sang Royale: 1 point 15 Vesta: 1 point 17 Tornado of Souls: 1 point 25 The Maeve Aulsebrock: 1 point Good luck to everyone
  16. Yay - I'm a completist so I am all for this :) I can't wait to see the scans
  17. When I follow the link I get an error 404 message
  18. Wow - this is excellent work indeed. You've captured the fairytale feeling spot on. Excellent use of hair and face for the prince!!
  19. It is SO great that you're back! You have always been my favourite MOCer, and I was afraid that you had gone into your dark ages. This scenery is excellent and full of trademark SlyOwl details, and everthing is just so spot on. Congrats on creating such an awesome MOC
  20. This is wonderful. I especially love your simple and clever use of small 1x2 bley plates as walls. It looks like building stones - excellent indeed
  21. I wish I had the space to save ALL the various LEGO boxes fro my sets, but I have limited it down to only a few. I love LEGO boxes and they are actually very valuable to me... especially the classic boxes
  22. What a wonderful thread :) - thanks for the images. I have the catalogs from 1989-1996 and I often sit and look at them and dream myself back to boyhood and pirating :)
  23. Paul Rudd is an AFOL and thus he is now even more cool in my book ;) As mentioned a few posts above, Beckham loves to build with LEGO, too: http://thesoccerroom.com/?p=14154
  24. Wow - what a wonderful MOC - I love the fact that it has feature on the front, the back and inside on each of the floors. And I've never seen your other MOC, which I also love very much. You are very skilled indeed :)
