Holy megabluck.... I have not seen many things that are as impressive as this creation. I love to look at the pictures, but I feel I need even more pictures of the creation - in close up so that I can appreciate the details even more. Thank you for sharing this with us. I envy those who have seen it irl

If you're not in a hurry and want to sell the sets for a good price, I'd suggest putting them for sale on Bricklink.com and see how long it takes to sell them. Try to look at each set's average sale price before listing your items. BE VERY PRECISE WHEN LISTING THE SETS LEGO collectors want to get excactly what the description says. We can't be fooled Good luck with your sale, and I hope that you some day find the space in your budget to buy the sets again. You're gonna miss them while they are gone

Building round castle tower- need idea or suggestion
Lorentzen replied to Lego Otaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I know this wont be very helpful at first, but I hope someone who has seen the same MOC as me a couple of years ago: There is a very large MOC out there that is a white snowy landscape with a huge cave beneath it. At the top of the hill there was a round tower. It was built using different wedge-bricks - but I can't remember excactly. Sorry -
Whoa - that's an incredible design. Excellent job. Even though you say that It's impossible to create an interior it would be awesome to see you try - how about a 'minimal' interior design?

My top five is: Black Seas Barracuda Eldorado Fortress Lagoon's Lockup Rock Island Refuge Caribbean Clipper

That is pretty friggin' awesome. How much would that cost to do for maybe ten lamps?

REVIEW: Creator 5770 Lighthouse Island
Lorentzen replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Wonderful and interesting review :) you've made some excellent reviews lately that's for sure. I really love this set - Creator house sets are becoming better and better The torso on the minifig is quite cool - where is that from originally? -
Oh dear god - this looks like an amazing set. So many details and so many new ideas. My favourite is the painter at work - cool idea

I'm currently writing an article on the evolution of the LEGO car - the most sold car brand in the world - I think Now that LEGO has begun to release Creator sets with minifigs (Log Cabin, Light House and Hill Side House) I really hope that they won't forget about the regular houses - I really hope that they keep releasing houses like the recent "City House" - My LEGO town needs Modular houses such as Green Grocer, Cafe Corner etc, but also residential homes of a much smaller size...

Come on.... he's bought that classic ship because he wanted that one, and not the newer ship - which by the way is much more expensive and a completely different kind of ship - both in terms of nostalgia and overall usage and design. Of course he could have bought the new ship (maybe he even has that one) but that's not the point of this thread at all. Sorry for my rant

I think my favourites are 1472 - Vacation House from 1987 or 6349 Holiday Villa from 1988 - two of my favourite LEGO years for some strange reason (the other favourite year for me is 1989 because of the release of the initial Pirate line)

The final version of my article has been added to my dropbox. I've added some eBay prices and a little extra text and images here and there. Thanks for all your nice comments so far - nice to know that I haven't written this article to my own enjoyment only ;)

Even though I haven't updated my article with the changes I plan to, it would still be interesting to hear from those who do not need LEGO to release sets with smaller houses like they used to do in the 1980's and 90's I think that the smaller residential houses are a must for any LEGO town: They represent the past (i.e. LEGO town past) and we can't keep raising police station after police station and hospitals, gasoline stations and train stations etc without having small families to keep the public buildings and transportation occupied

Thanks for your feedback ThomaS :) I'm definitely going to add the original retail prices in USD - that's a good idea :) but I still think that the Bricklink prices give us a good idea of how valuable these sets are to collectors. The eBay values are of course also a pretty good and accurate ressource for those who want to find these sets for cheap. I'll add a list at the end of the document :) I guess it would be pretty cool to have the article published, but not until I've edited it much more with the help from people on here.

I'm not sure I understand? I didn't include the Creator houses because they do not categorize as Classic Town houses (to me, that is)
-
I have followed your town for quite some time now - The way you come up with details for the interior in each of your buildings is a joy to watch :) I like the simple yet detailed and genuine exterior look to your buildings

It took me three nights a couple of months back, but then I dropped it because I didn't know how to publish it properly. Then I found out about dropbox and began to proof read my article. Thank you very much for taking the time to read it - I know that it is rather long :)

Wow I am very very amazed with these cars. You have simply NAILED it. They look incredible

Hello everybody - I've written an article on the many wonderful LEGO houses that have emerged from Billund since 1978 - the year the theme "Town" was introduced. My main focus is on the houses released in the theme "Town" and its subtheme "Leisure". I hope you enjoy the read - it was an idea that came to me last year when The LEGO Group introduced the new set 8403 City House; a house that was the first of its kind in 15 years, and only the second of its kind since 1990. I've uploaded the PDF file to my dropbox, and you can download the article by clicking on the link below: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16088906/The%20LEGO%20house%20-%20article.pdf Please let me know if you have suggestions to add or I have made some grammatical errors that I should edit. Kristian UPDATE: I've added a poll - we could use this topic to discuss whether or not we want more (official) smaller family homes in our LEGO Town, or if we think that the Fire Departments/Police Stations/Emergency Centers/Gas Stations/Creator houses/Large Exclusive buildings are fine enough to have in our Town plans

What the heck is going on? What did they do? And why should we all ALMOST know about it? Why even begin telling us part of this, if you're not going to let us in on the greasy details? Please someone explain in detail

Nice reviews - It's interesting to see these sets, but oh dear god they make me cringe... It is just so obvious that the quality is extremely poor and the printing on the minifigs and bricks leaves me with nightmares.... I would never ever consider buying any of these Enlighten sets, ever... I'd MUCH rather pay overprice for LEGO's quality toys

Forget about how silly the story is, or isn't - the quality of the video is excellent! Excellent, I tell you There are many places throughout this movie where the figures' movements are done superbly - for instance take a look at one of the soldiers after he's been thrown backwards ( approx. 1:08 -> ) His "flight" through the air is magnificent. I applaud you for making such a high quality LEGO video, although I think that the overall smoothness of the video could have been even better. But I have not tried this, so I my guess is, that it is extremely difficult to smoothen the movements up. I'd definitely like to see more videos from you - perhaps some that have a more classic piraty tale But as I said in the beginning, the story is not the most important part of this video, IMO... It is the quality of it - great job

Hmm - this is a build I might actually be able to pull off I'll enter for sure. Thanks for creating this excellent raffle

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Lorentzen replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
That's just friggin' awesome. Thanks :) I noticed that the oars are slightly different than the original mould -
I can never fully understand how one can be so extremely skilled with LEGO bricks. Your style is simply stunning in each MOC, and you have a way of creating buildings and landscapes that look like reality. Thank you for building MOCs that I can drool over for several hours! I really mean it. You are so talented, it's unbelieveable
