  1. I really wouldn't be surprised if Chima is discontinued soon, especially with the news that Ninjago is set to continue beyond 2015. It's a shame, because I love Chima and never really got in to NInjago all that much, despite bieng a fan of a fair few of the models.\ These new sets sound really good, anyway!
  2. Excellent MOC here! I think the colour scheme is great, the armour is well placed and she looks exceptionally solid. The articulation is also very good. One part I don't like as much is the feet - specifically the clawed toes, they seem a little too bestial compared to the rest of the body. Have you considered using Furno XL's cape? I think it could look rather cool here, but of course then your MOC would probably end up looking too close to simply a Furno XL mod. Hmm.
  3. I have to say the colour scheme for the beasts is outstanding - they remind me so much of the Technic "competition" theme that I so loved as a kid (that theme is still one of my favourites to this day). Those transparent bones are very nice, but the purple parts that are really grabbing my attention. I only with the beast heads had sculpted details rather than printed ones, though.
  4. Sorry, but we tend to get the new sets way after December - I seem to remember picking my first Breakout set up either early February or late January and it was the same for the Brain Attack sets - and only the medium sized (£10) appeared local to me, then the smaller sets and Furno XL about one or two weeks later.
  5. Apparently one of the villains we're getting in the upcoming wave of Hero Factory will be a praying mantis style character. I'm almost certain it will appear in that set, it seems like such a good fit.
  6. Maybe the other bat will have a more sinister face. I don't mind this one, but I think the nose is too big - the ears, too, but I can live with that given that it's a minifigure and big heads are just part of the aesthetic.
  7. If anything, I'd say Lavertus is Laval's brother. Similar naming scheme, similar "royal" armour...it makes sense. I heard somewhere (probably in this thread) that he lives in the desert which would explain his ragged clothing...I think he'll come with the ripped crocodile cape or the cape that Worriz wears in dark blue. Whether he's evil or not I don't know, but I think that he could be associated with the nomads. He might just be a high ranking lion though, perhaps the head of a Lion outpost in the desert.
  8. We might have something as soon as the end of the month. October is usually the time pictures tend to surface...at least it has been in past years (unless you're an action figure fan, of course, then it can take a while longer)
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks!...I'm sure you'll fit right in here.
  10. Agreed! that's something that has really annoyed me, too - perhaps we'll get another wave of them in the summer, or it'll appear as part of a set. I'm annoyed at the lack of ravens in general - it doesn't seem like we're getting any in this first wave of sets for next year!
  11. Thanks very much for the news about the upcoming sets, they sound very interesting! however I fear a slew of brick built arachnids could get a bit boring, especially given Galaxy Squad also features insectoid mechs which could end up being very similar...hopefully these will be unique enough to stand out. One question, though... do you remember which characters came with the Legend Beasts?
  12. I have the same thing going on with two of the gold shells that came with my Ultrabuild Iron Man set. I noticed it last summer and I've not found anything about it online until now so it must be a fairly uncommon error since it's quite noticeable, in my opinion.
  13. Wow! this is so good. Very nice idea. The tool belt is a great touch and that drill is so much nicer looking than the one piece moulded part, I think.
  14. I think this is nicely done. The colour scheme is lovely and I'm a fan of the scale and the angles. Nice work!
  15. Very nice looking little gas station LT! very atmospheric. Keep up the good work.
  16. Absolutely fantastic MOC! It's going to look really good as part of the finished project. Great work!
  17. http://brickset.com/minifigs/?m=wc001 This guy has a grey torso (hard to see under the armour) though technically he's a security guard and not a police officer the torso still would work quite well as one. EDIT: Here's the torso without the armour - http://brickset.com/minifigs/?m=bat020 I think that's the closest you'll be able to get.
  18. I got my black brain today too. I placed an order for Frost Beast a few days later too, and a second black brain set got added to my basket. Hopefully I'll get it but the "one per household only" clause in the small print has me concerned.
  19. 2 points to Koboldon 1 point to Gambrodon Koboldon is perhaps my favourite MOC of the competition - the combination of pieces that make up the face just works out SO well....plus it reminds me of Onua. Great work! Gambrodon is adorable to begin with (and reminds me of how Spyro used to look back in his early PlayStation days) but it's the H.R Gieger like aesthetic of the mutated form that really stood out to me. Those eyes are great too (in both forms!) Good luck to everyone!
  20. 1 point for Marshall Boyle 1 point for Gerald Spectrum 1 point for Quazara Angelata Some really nice digital mocs here, I chose my favourites mainly due to the way the colours were presented and the complexity of the builds.
  21. 1 point to Torvax 2 points for Hector Steelson XL I chose both of these entries because I really, really like the way the asymetry is implemented with each figure, and I think they are also the most gruesome and organic of the lot with the most balanced colour schemes (not that I don't think the other entries good either, of course!) Hector Steelson gets the majority of my points here, however, because of the way the infected side creeps across the body. Great work!
  22. Has anyone in the UK tried getting a brain polybag from UK S@H? the polybag gets added to your basket if you add any of the Brain Atttack sets but if you add any of the leftover Breakout Sets that are still in stock it doesn't get added, yet the terms and conditions state that it's with ANY Hero Factory purchase. Hmm. I really want another Stringer!
  23. Magnificent MOC! the pre-mutation state reminds me very much of the original Toa Onua, which is just great. I really love the faces on both of these, I think you've really succeeded with rivaling the other faceplates despite them being brick built. The colours are great too, I'm very fond of black and transparent green colours together, especially this particular shade of trans green. I also like that this MOC is a collaboration between yourself and your brother. Part of me thinks that using two brains would be more appropriate
  24. Wow! an extra hilt piece! I'm really looking forward to getting the black brain set. I was hoping to get two of them for a two headed MOC, but it seems that it's "one per household" at least for the UK iteration of the promotion. I suppose it's easy enough to work around but it's a hassle. Either way, I'd be happy with just the one. I may just have to try to get to a LEGO store and be crafty Thanks for the great review!
  25. Thanks for the great review! I think the jetpack is quite nice but the Rocka figure is easily his worst incarnation. Of course that doesn't matter much to me at all, I'm just happy that LEGO are still producing Hero Factory vehicles. I really like the use of the swords on the wings here, but I think if I get this set I'll replace the green blades with silver ones. In fact I may replace all of the green parts with silver or white ones to make the vehicle as neutral as possible (and of course replace the windscreen with a clear one)
