  1. Well done! A great review of a great set - I'm picking this one up tomorrow, if it's still in the shop It does look like a great little set for the price, and of course there's the obligatory rock monster But I'll probably put the big container piece it tows and the chain to use in a Power Miners Moc, however. 2. Wow. The wait is finally over. I prefer the medium sized monsters to the big, brick-built one. I'm sad to see it's just the same monster in a different colour though, but they still look awesome, and I too believe that they'll have some sort of feature that allows them to throw things with their arms. I read somewhere (maybe further back in this topic) that they have a sort of lever on the back . As for the sets themselves, I don't really like the biggest one. As others have said, it just looks too much like the "Mobile Devastator" from Exo force. The other two look like fair game though. I'll probably end up Bricklinking the bigger monster, and just buying the Crystal king. I actually may buy two CKs, since it looks like you get a quite a few of the "power crystals" and that head looks pretty useful does anyone know anyhting about the pricing of these sets yet? 3. I'm fairly new here, so hi everyone, hope you're all well! Well, my views on the Power Miners theme are fairly positive. Sure, the colour scheme is hardly "discrete"...but really....if you're mining underground in the pitch black, having bright reflective colours surrounding you can only be a good thing I've picked up the two lower priced sets, the bike and the mech and I'm pleasantly surprised. The Monsters are significantly smaller than I thought: I was expecting them to only be a fraction shorter than a minifig, but when my monster tumbled out of the box for the first time, seeing it in the plastic was quite a shock. Regarding the Summer wave of sets...I can hardly wait. Mainly because of those new, awesome monsters . I've only seen the one, but I hear there is going to be two? hopefully it'll be two different monsters, and not just the same one in different colours. Of course, I only have a small budget, and as much as I can hope to get those big monsters, I suppose they'll end up in the larger sets which sadly for me are for the most part out of the question...curse you, budget! And I'd LOVE to see a human/monster hybrid....perhaps a minifig with rock monster arms and maybe a special head or something? it seems pretty unlikely though. But who knows what TLC has got planned? 4. Superb. A VERY well constructed MOC, and I mean that. The squid is lovely. At first glance I'll admit I thought that it looked fairly simple to constuct, but upon seeing the closeup shots of it (espescially it's mouth) I was very impressed. You've crammed a lot of detail into this, and that squid attacking that superbly put together tower serves as an excellent centrepiece. It reminds me of Pirates Of The Caribbean - not just the kraken-esque giant squid, but the whole idea of undead creatures attacking a small settlement. Inspired. And As much as I liked the sand in your small MOC, using yellow pieces for sand here reminds me more of the original Pirates sets. I prefer the yellow sand for that reason. Well done and good luck! 5. Great idea well executed. no pun inteneded It really does look like a small island, and the idea of having to choose your "death" inspires me to do somethng similar but I wont be entering it. The use of the fang/ tooth pieces for waves is simplistic but also very realistic. And great choice f minifigs, especially the lady tied to the tree. As for the villainous pirate minifig - one tiny error....how does he expect to fire his pistol with a hook? he'd probably blow the rest of his arm off just trying apart from that, brilliant! if it was a real small set, I'd certainly buy it!
  6. I like this. And I LOVE the story behind it. Especially the guy in the boat, the imperial who appears to be missing a sleeve. Great choice of minifig heads - they all look terrified, but that guy in particular. Although I'd be just as scared if there was a cannibalisitic pirate about to gnaw my arm off!, and that little statue/ idol in the clearing is well constructed from what looks like so few pieces. And I adore your use of skleton and standard minifig pieces combined together, they really do have a "decomposing corpse" effect. Macabre, but awesome, great MOC! :pir-skull: PS - the minifig head is from Hagrid :D Rocketbilly
  7. I've been following this for a while, but have been unable to make a EB account. However, circumstances have changed and now I have finally made an account , so please count me in! (If you'll have me) Rocketbilly
