  1. Agreed. To me, from some angles, it looks like some sort of tank with some wings bolted on to the side. One that is too tall for its wheelbase. On the other hand, it looks like a big chunky dropship from other angles, which I suppose is rather what it is - and you don't have to dosplat the two components of the ship together anyway, and I think the main ship looks a lot nicer with the ground vehicle deployed. I'll probably get it if it's ever cheap, though I'm suspecting Galaxy Squad won't be available in normal shops here in the UK, so chances of getting it at a rediced price are slim if so.
  2. It's possible - but I think then the gorilla clan would be at a disadvantage compared to the other minfigures from the other clans because there isn't a lot of space for the minifigure head underneath to show through which would result in far fewer options for facial expressions compared to all of the other characters.
  3. I think that the cyclops minifigure will be great - I've got a feeling that his giant head is a helmet piece with a gap in it to allow a minifigure head witha printed eyeball on it to show through. That'd be awesome if so...
  4. I think they alleged "Alien Trooper" is NOT white - it's a bad colour filter. It looks to be the dark stone grey colour with lime arms - basically the same figure we got a poor "review" of a few weeks ago. The printing also appears to be on the shoulder pads.
  5. The ship that appeared in the comic that you are referring to is a different modelt from a different set, and the antenna look like they're going to be removable.
  6. I doubt the figures will be so sepcific that they won't work in multiples. If you want to just use a mixture of heads and build an army on the same generic body I imagine that could be possible with at least one of the figures in the line.
  7. Nice work! Llyod's Spinjitsu tornado is really nice, and the Serpentine warriors seem to match each Ninja they're fighting rather well with regards to the colours. Was that your intention?
  8. Sadly I doubt the theme will continue for another wave. While Monster Fighters seems to be gettin gmore attention from LEGO than other "one shot" themes tend to get, it still reeks of "one wave and done" to me. It just seems to be the direction LEGO is travelling - one or two themes running at a time with multiple waves, with a new one shot theme every six months or so. From the beginning I believe it was understood that LEGO would be marketing this theme heavily around the Halloween period, so that would probably why LEGO are putting a lot of effort into this theme compared to previous single-run themes.
  9. Euugh. I thought that Bulks giant nose on his original helmet was just an unfortunate design flaw but no, it appears that LEGO are intending Bulk to have a strange nose on his face in as many of his incarnations as possible. Why? it just looks ridiculous in my opinion. Still, those head shots are nice. Thanks for posting.
  10. I really like that robot. Great design, great colours and what appears to be decent articulation too - and the fact that its other builds are vehicles, combined with the headlights and windscreen on the chest (and even the "mouth guard" on its face) hint to me that this is some kind of transformer. Perhaps LEGO Is trying to show Kreo how it's done?
  11. From what I understand, these figures were part of badges or something of that sort that were released some times ago. I'm not one hundred percent sure about what exactly they were for but the "error" is intentional. I seem to recall something similar with some Blacktron figures that were attached to badges before.
  12. We didn't get Space Police III or World Racers here in the UK - the only place we could get them was through Lego's retail stores or the Shop at Home website. Well, sort of - a good year after the theme ended a few sets turned up in a specialty toy shop near me, but that must have been some kind of surplus deal - they've had the Winter Village sets before when they're only available through Lego too. Strange. But that's against the point, this shop was a one off. For the most part in the UK, if you wanted Space Police III or World Racers you'd have to buy from Lego themselves or not at all. I hope this theme doesn't go that way.
  13. You make a fair point - I expect that perhaps the brain creature is an expensive part to manufacture. That would lead to the sets being more costly. ALSO we're yet to see the backs of these figures. From what I can tell there's some sort of Technic assembly behind some of them. There may be more to them than meets the eye (and I don't mean they're going to transform)... I do hope that the Hero torso shell and the area on the chest around the core with the robot arms will be a seperate piece - but they look to be one and the same, which is really disappointing. It makes them less customisable and also I really don't like how the abdomen looks. It looks too skinny for my tastes, and I've been fine with the previous torso pieces whereas I know many have considered them too skinny. Looks like they've finally crossed the line for me
  14. I think the hero heads will be the 2.0 and 3.0 series heads as opposed to the Glatorian heads. They have the same chins from what I can see and it would make sense, what with the helmets and visors being seperate pieces. Breez's weapon looks like it's going to be very floppy. I don't like it when weapons use pins as opposed to axles for weapons that really look like they're supposed to be static. I expect the game codes will be printed on the brain slug creaure things for the villains and on the cores again for the Heroes. It would be nice if the Heroes contained a brain slug withthe code on instead but like Aanchir pointed out, it seems likely that that would be pointed out on the packaging. Furthermore a brain slug looks like it would be more expensive to produce than a Hero Core...and TLG already have the means to print the cores with codes anyway. Just a few random musings.
  15. I'm of mixed opinion about these sets. The heroes will be good to modify completley - their weapons aren't impressive to me, they all look a little flimsy but with some tweaks they could be ok, if a tad generic. The aliens are nicer, I like them. They could still do with some minor tweaks but nothing too major in my opinion. Furno XL....well he looks too cluttered. Sadly I feel Hero Factory has gone the routeo f many Bionicle sets of old - too many weapons tacked on and too much silver. Still, I can find a lot of redeeming features and when we get reviews/more pictures then I might find more to like. I expect a good chunk of these pieces (Furno's cape, some of the sword pieces, less brightly coloured cladding) will turn up in the Legends of Chima Constraction figures that we're apparently going to get.
  16. It seems unlikely we'll see the illegally leaked pictures this time round. LEGO is probably taking better precautions this time, and I'd imagine that retailers only have access to the catalogue for so long anyway. Basically I think our window of opportunity has passed so it's up to one of the upcoming conventions/toy fairs for us to get our first glimpse at what to expect - and I'm not expecting HF to make much of an appearance. Star Wars, Superheroes..whatever other licensed property LEGO are pushing as well as perhaps Legends of Chima (next years "big" theme if I'm not mistaken) will likely get most of the limelight...and that's if LEGO are going to be showing off a lot of product at all. I'm not completely sure which conventions LEGO shows new products off at and which ones they just sort of...have a presence at and hand out promos.
  17. I noticed that too. Action Figure themes very rarely get much appreciation from AFOLs in general I've noticed, though - perhaps there's a slim chance they were just overlooked. Then again I doubt it - they'd likely be in with the rest of the Superheroes stuff and that theme is incredibly popular... I'd at least expect a mention of " j uniorised Bionicle figures" or whatever it is a lot of AFOLs (in my experience)tend to brush action figure themes off as... looks like we're not getting Ultrabuilds. Maybe in the Summer wave? for some reason though I really can't see them being a mainstay in the Superheroes line, sadly.
  18. If you count the Collectible Minifgures as "mainstream" appearaces then perhaps it is slightly overused. If you count the times it has appeared in sets only then I'd say no. We got in in about five Space Police III sets, pretty much every Alien Conquest set and a few World Racers and City sets. Other pieces have appeared in far more sets and nobody complains that they're overused. It makes sense for this helmet to be used in this theme really. It's a good sci-fi helmet that finishes on the shoulders to allow a minifgs back to be uncovered (to allow figs to fit into cockpits better) and it can take a visor, whereas the Galaxy Patrol helmet does not. If LEGO wanted a helmet like this and didn't want to make a new mould then the only other helmet that fits the bill (with a full enclosed head) would be the standard crash helmet as far as I'm aware.
  19. I'd say go for it. It's a lovely set with some great details and features, a nice selection of minfigures and a really great overall look. Plus I'd say that that was a good price too - I personally think the RRP for this set is actually pretty good as it is. No it's not cheap but I think you still get your money's worth - But that price is great.
  20. This is a fantastic MOC. It looks very accurate, sleek and menacing and it has all of the details correct, I'd say. The fact it fits a minifigure too is really great.
  21. It's likely that you'll have to pay a fair amount of shipping from the US, plus a nice import fee too. I bought a couple of sets and ended up paying about £28 for the shipping/tax combined. However I bought it from eBay, not Bricklink so maybe a Bricklink seller would be more knowledgable, but you'd likely still end up paying the inport tax.
  22. They don't look moulded to me... Well, the black one at least doesn't - it looks to use the bat creature headpiece like the one in the Monster Fighers Vampyre Castle. Hard to tell with the grey one. These remind me a bit of Roboriders. I like what I'm seeing so far. EDIT Ok, now I've seen those other pics I see what you mean. Moulded heads seem likely. Still, they're nice heads.
  23. Odd! by "the catalogue" do you mean the offical LEGO one?
  24. I was wondering about that, too. But then again this isn't the Tennant Doctor. Maybe this is the start of a story arc where the Doctor gets a little...darker? Certain events that are said to happen in episdoe five may cement this...and then it's up to the new assistant to redeem him in some way?
  25. He's at Tesco too. I think I was right when I predicted he'd be a Tesco exclusive since that seems to be the only place besides Shop at Home where you can find him.
