Confusing, isn't it? From what I understand, the icy 2013 teaser image is something to do with Legends of Chima.
-
That would look awesome! I'm going to get Speeda Demon soon, I can't wait.
-
Maybe not the ripcord - it has that Bionicle aesthetic to it and I doubt that it will really "work" with the sets - but the other element could quite possibly turn up, yeah. I doubt it though, I've got a feeling ha the ripcord gimmic wont really be constructible itself - just an element to inegrate into the sets (if it is designed to be used with sets, perhaps the ripcord components are standalone like the Ninjago spinners were)
-
It'll just fizzle out. The sets might be really good, of course but I really doubt that there will be new spinners and a large amount of sets. Multi wave action themes have all recently ended on a small wave of sets, and with Legends of Chima containing a game element that sounds much like Ninjago's it seems a little pointless for them to release spinners when Chima will likely have an analogous item available.

I'd say Core Hunter and Bulk instead of Stormer; as much as I like Stormer himself I think his XL form isn't as good as it could be whereas Bulk looks pretty cool and Core hunter has a great colour scheme and helmet, though his build is of course a tad generic. Maybe if you're going for build and pieces get Stormer. Cool looking figures to keep and dispay? Bulk and Core Hunter.

Wouldn't any location allow for more vehicles though? submersibles for an underwater theme, jets and things like that for a sky theme etcetera. Sadly, I think 2013 will be HFs last year and whatever "theme" the sets follow will span the whole of the year - my money is on that theme being the "villain factory" that is being discussed. "Rampant Oeans" and "Empire of Frost" to me just sound like fan-created rumours.

This is brilliant! I love glow in the dark pieces. I don't have many myself but if I did I'd definitely do something like this! the effect is marvellous and they glow so well! keep up the good work.
-
It wouldn't work. It would be too fragile, apparently and the friction between two transparent elements is too great. There's been a lot of talk about this over the years, and it's an interesting topic.

I disagree. I think it looks pretty good. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was worth the RRP, but here in the UK these books can frequently be found at a discount so I'm not letting the price get to me too much. I like the motorcycle, it's brilliant and some of the other builds look good, too. I'll admit that ramp looks a little cobbled together though - I suppose it had to be on the cover of the book because it accompanies the awesome motorcycle. I wish it was black though - maybe it was red to match Kai, but they decided to include Cole instead as a last minute change or something. Either way I'm sure it can be made in black - I'd actually like to make one of these bikes in each of the ninja colours. I hope it's possible.

That sounds like the most practical and satisfying mod EVER To be fair though, I'd take the Skyrim kids over the Fallout 3 ones any day... Little Lamplight *shudders*

It's looking great! shame my fellow PS3 users will have to wait even longer....we've not even gotten a release date for Dawnguard yet as far as I'm aware. Not that it matters too much to me - I've been playing since December and the game still feels fresh. I don't know why anyone would want kids in Skyrim full stop, adopted or nay - they're so annoying with their running everywhere!

Very nicely done! I really like the small yet well detailed interior and the fact that there's a hatch to allow the figure to get into the cockpit - for some reason I find a lot of people overlook that detail. Maybe I'm just looking at the wrong MOCS but either way it's great to see. Very nice work!
-
This is very good! instantly recognisable and quite accurare. I'm not so sure about the droid torso/tauntaun arm assembly on the left hand though - apart from that, just right. Well done!

This is a great review of a lovely little set, thanks for posting I really do think this is one of the nicest polybag sets Lego has ever produced. When combined with the Batman Jet Ski polybag, they make a great pair - just like the Jack Sparrow boat and the Mini Black Pearl do. I hope Lego continues making sets of two polybags- one containing a character and a mini vehicle and the other containing a micro-scale version of their trademark vehicle. I hope this is a pattern. I could see, for example, a Han Solo with small speeder bike as one, then a mini- scale Millenium Falcon to go with it.

This is a fantastic MOC! it looks well built and sturdy, and like others have said the features are astonishing given the scale. My favourite feature is of course the retractable roof - amazing! Everything looks so compact too, and the colour scheme is nice and simple, which I can appreciate. Superb MOC all around.
-
I like this, the shape of the car is actually really nice, and the whole MOC reminds me of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Nice work!

Legomilk's information has proven to be accurate in the past. He is trustworthy.

I understand what you mean, though personally I prefer knowing in advance - I was very close to buying a complete set of all of the original Hero helmets (which would actually have been an expensive endeavour) this time last year as I'd sadly missed out on the majority of the first wave of Heroes until I saw the picture of the Breakout sets, and saw that my coveted helmets were being re-used. I think it plan your current purchases if you know what is round the corner. For example, there are a few of the Breakout sets that I'd like to buy to finish my collection, however if I see the leaked pics and decide there's a set or two coming out soon that I can't live without then I might decide to save my money for those instead of finishing my Breakout collection with sets that I'm a little more ambivalent to. IF, however, the 2013 sets turn out to be a steaming pile of naff then I might decide that finishing my Breakout collection would be a better use of my money. If I'd waited until early 2013 to see the new sets, that decission might be very difficult since it might be harder to finish my Breakout collection then as they'd likely be discontinued.

Very nice, I really like all of the little details here and the layout is very nice. I seem to remember seeing the original, and this is just as impressive. I really like the colours and that Spinjitzu Dojo fits in really well!

Ahhh, I understand that. I thought it was part of one of the novels, though. Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, I was expecting this topic to lure a few folks in with hopes for set news. Hopefully soon!

Nice to have somewhere to speculate! Let's just hope we have something more solid to speculate about soon What's all this about a "Villain Factory" I've been hearing about?
-
Well yeah, Medium Azure is the proper LEGO name, but not a lot of fans really use that...though I prefer using the lego names to AFOL nomenclature most times, sometimes it just slips out I hope we get at least a set list soon...it furstrates me that most every year we action figrue fans have to wait until last to see the pics/lists of the upcoming sets. It makes sense though. Is this off topic? I supppse it's a little early to open a 2013 Hero Factory topic...perhaps a 2013 wish list until we've got something more concrete?

That would be cool. Personally for next year I'd like to see glow in the dark pieces, or more transparent ones. I think it'd be cool to have, say, glow in the dark bones with transparent cladding over the top, or just glow in the dark cladding. I also think it would be great to have transparent bones, but I doubt we'd get these for several reasons - the friction would be too great so connecting them together would be difficult, for a start, which is a shame really.
-
All of those pieces would be useful, though I'm hoping rather for purple feet, hands and some sort of purple helmet. We already have purple clading between Voltix and The Joker to be able to make a mostly purple character, but with these extra elements then we'd be able to make an all purple figure, well, mostly. Obviously there'd be things like bones, weapons and the head to take into account but a figure that is literally completely purple would look a bit odd to me anyway. I hope we get a teal character, too. As great as Thronraxx is, imagine how cool it woul dbe to have more teal bones or cladding!

Seconded. Steampunk is assosciated with its own set of tropes and naming conventions, and a name like "Speedorz" really wouldn't work with what is generally accepted and conceived to be Steampunk. IF it's some sort of racing theme then maybe each racer could have its own motif... we might see a Steampunk themed racer then but I can't see the entire theme being set around it with a name like that.
