  1. Excellent. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for any updates. This moc might just be good enough to finally win you a thirdwiggy award.
  2. Paul, were you and Eric going to do instructions for this new model? Or do you happen to have more pictures of the modules? I've been trying to build them, but I am stuck on the shifting unit and main chassis. I also probably don't have the suspensions correct either.
  3. Picked up the 42070 and 42069 from TRU today. Going to have a fun weekend with the kids.
  4. Nice model so far. Will be following this project.
  5. Well Paul, as usual, no matter what you build, it's never enough.
  6. Perhaps the wheels are slightly too large for the scale? IDK. When you look at it from the side compared to the actual car, it looks like maybe it should be a few studs longer. Still a great representation and one that you should be proud of.
  7. While I am not a fan of this building style at all, I cannot deny that it looks really good. The wheel base does perhaps look just a tad short from the side view compared to the real car and the front fenders look a little over proportioned, but still a beautiful looking moc. Well done! Interested in seeing the meat and potatoes of this.
  8. Wow Paul. The engineering behind that modular chassis and how it works is simply amazing. I also like the song choices in the video. Kill Bill - Phantom of the Opera - Back Street Boys
  9. Pretty cool.Where did you get the black engine blocks?
  10. I am going to assume that they are 3/4 pins. I don't think that it is possible for a 3L pin to fit into that steering arm without bending and damaging it.
  11. Cool, thanks Paul. That will give me something to tinker with until the new sets get released. The color vomit comment is kind of bizarre because the underside actually looks more interesting with certain areas done in certain colors. I hate looking at undercarriage shots of model where the entire thing is black and you cannot see what is going on. When I think of color vomit, I think of multi colored liftarms being used and not necessarily pins or connectors. Your model looks more "color coded" so to speak than actual "color vomit". You also cannot see any of these colors from the underneath on the finished model, so I don't understand how these colors are taking away from the model's appearance. The person who made that youtube comment is actually a poster here at eurobricks.
  12. Good start. Might be tricky to fit in a sequential at that scale. But hey, anything is possible.
  13. Paul, when you do your new vid of the chassis and stuff, could you also please take some detailed pics of the modules, gearbox, etc? I would like to try and replicate that chassis the best that I can. The button system has me intrigued.
  14. Here is the video. I just read on facebook that Paul did say that he is doing a second video on covering just the mechanics in the model.
  15. It's quite amazing how similar these two models look despite being aesthetically and mechanically designed completely differently. The curves in this new black car are pretty darn impressive though and it is one of the prettiest cars that I've ever seen. Would like to see more of the gearbox and other mechanics as the video was pretty short.
  16. I like it. But it would have been more impressive if it had front wheel drive like the real car.
  17. The roof looks rough with the combination of dark blue gray technic parts combined with system bricks. The windscreen looks odd because of the sharp angles sticking out and those 4L thin dark blue gray liftarms that are connecting the top of it to the sides do not look good at all as they are cutting into the cockpit and look like they would seriously be blocking the driver/passenger's view. It just doesn't look very good from this angle. I think you should also consider using flexible axles above the rear wheel because the car looks very unbalanced when you view it from front to back. Your new front end design looks much much better.
  18. The color is interesting, but the paint work quality is terrible.
  19. I don't know Erik. I have to agree with much of what Kumbbl has said. The wheels just don't look right on a model like this and the entire roof looks really rough, especially the very odd looking front windscreen. I don't have a problem with the colors at all, I think they're great, but the design is not very appealing. But if you are happy with it, then I guess that is all that matters.
  20. All of those years in development and they couldn't solve 2 highly critical flaws in the model. 1.) A gearbox that shifts in order and 2.) The same suspension set up as in the 42039 that isn't even strong enough to support the weight of the car. Seriously, why would TLC talk up how great the chassis is when it has these serious flaws? They bragged about the gearbox as if it was so revolutionary and it didn't even shift in the proper sequence. Can you imagine one of the more well known AFOL car builders doing something like this and not getting criticized for it? After Lego released their lame excuse about why the model shifted out of order, there were actually people defending them. You pay $300 for a "USC Technic" model for basically one function, and that function doesn't even function properly. When I built the 42056, I really enjoyed the build, but now looking back at the model a year later with all of the problems that it has, it doesn't seem as special anymore.
  21. I like the use of that curved piece from the 42006 that he used for the head and eyebrows. It give the little fellow personality.
  22. This just popped up on the Technic Facebook page.
  23. You're not kidding. Many great mocs and WIP mocs. Paul also shared a few pics with me today on facebook of his new Outlaw supercar. It's been a sunday technic overload.
