Oh, thank for explaining that the Eagle isn't Gwaihir but the baby! Did LEGO explain it to you? (S A R C A S M) -

I like the Iron Patriot, but there are two problems: 1. I don't want the game. 2. I don't shop at Walmart. This'll just be yet another missed/skipped promo fig to add to the list. (Voodoo doll Jack Sparrow, Elrond, armored Lex Luthor, Bilbo Baggins, all SDCC figs, Hoth Han Solo, and now Iron Parriot.) In fact, the only exclusive promo minifigure I have is the Hulk! I would much rather have the Mouth of Sauron or robed Saruman from the summer LotR sets, anyway! TheLegoDr is right: It's a LEGO minifigure. Not a million dollars. Life goes on. It would be nice to have, but there's no easy way to get it for me except for paying Amazon/eBay/Bricklink scalpers. -
I probably won't get the ship, so that cost is omitted from my list.

You're right! $200+$30+$60+$60+$12=$362, not 422! I was wrong! I am juggling about the two Black Gates. It doesn't look great with the two doors, but if it could be modded with a central pair of doors, it would be worthwhile.

Well, May 1 is tomorrow. We'll fond out if the date is false if they don't appear on the S@H! So, the two Black Gates. All of the sections attach via Technic pins? I assume the tower has Technic holes on either side to allow this. The only problem I have with the combined Gates is that there isn't a central door that way. There are two on either side. I have calculated that with Orthanc, two Black Gates, one council, and one Wizard Battle, I will be spending $422 on LotR. Yikes. LEGO is quite good at marketing, though. Otherwise, I wouldn't get anything from LotR, but Orthanc interested me in the theme. Don't even get me started on the Hobbit sets, either. Both Tolkien themes will have me bankrupt!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion

You, cheater, you! Well, I guess it could work! Although, it seems needlessly complicated when you could just feel. It's not that hard! Unfortunately for me, 3 Mr. Golds have been found in Illinois. Doesn't make me feel hopeful at all. People on Brickset are saying, "Don't worry, just keep trying. The odds aren't against you finding him" and other stuff like that, and they are the ones who have him! A person who doesn't have him would say something completely different! I would actually frame that! If (and that's a ginormous if) I get him, I plan to get a small clear wall-mounted case next to the diploma and pamphlet with the "You Found Mr. Gold" side showing. A Mr. Gold showcase wall! Framed diploma+pamphlet+wall case for Mr. Gold (when on display, of course). Sadly, that may be one of the coolest things on display in my room (until I get Orthanc! )- 1,076 replies

Excellent photoshop, Deathleech! It looks much better that way. -
Well, you win some, you lose some. That hair is adapted fot the quiver, but not the beard. I still don't know why the Dumbledore hair even exists. It was never accurate on any licensed minifigure who had it.

Some people are recommending the Creator eagle, the Fierce Flyer, but some pieces, like the tooth pieces at the end of its tail, aren't in/hard to come by in brown (or at least I think they are). The only other problem with this is that the Eagle in 10237 is properly scaled with Orthanc. It is awful with a minifigure, though. A minifigure-scaled Eagle would be too large in comparison to Orthanc. The only solution is a 5-foot tall, 6 cm wide Orthanc with the Fierce Flyer! EDIT: I just realized that this press release has been top of the frontpage for a while now, compared to the other breaking news articles I've seen. This one's had a long run, as they go. -
Good old Knowyourmeme! I go there all the time to find stuff out due to periodical Internet ignorance. I read that entry before but missed out on the canonicity section. And that's terrible!

Well, the Cave Troll is shown with the orcs and Uruk-Hai pouring out the doors in the magazine spotlight. It didn't look disproportionate, but it's CG, and therefore unreliable.

Well, a lot of people are complaining that the Eagle is not so great due to its (small) size. It's more suitable for a zoo than LotR at any rate. -
Well, you can see, in the render, two doors, and two walls on either side, with a tower on the right. I'm sure if you go to a LEGO store, you can get a magazine!

Deskp has posted two earlier. Here they are, anyway. You know, I don't care about a Treebeard or Minas Tirith set, what we really need is a set with Sauron. Sauron being the Hero Factory/Knights Kingdom entity from the video game:

New LEGO magazine showcases the Black Gate-two combined! LEGO really wants us to buy two. Why not make it a larger set? The Mouth of Sauron render looks really good...

Review: The Lone Ranger 79108 - Stagecoach Escape
8BrickMario replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for picking up on my Kyle/Barret info! I couldn't see the pictures on my 3DS yesterday, so now I have seen them properly. 1. I think the pictures make Red's hat look lavender, but I believe it is green. LEGO has seen the film for reference, so I'm sure they're right. 2. Tonto has a better expression (both sides) in the silver mine: frowning and grimacing, not smiling and scared silly! 3. You know, knowing Johnny Depp, he would probably wear Helena's "Red" hat! Although I have no idea how it would make one look fat. Although, the ridiculousness of the funny makes it, well, funny. 4. Interesting how Helena Bonham Carter's last redhead character (Red Queen-Alice in Wonderland) had a huge head, now her character has a small hat!- 39 replies

Minor correction. Luthor stole cakes. Simon makes pies. Still funny, though. Never would've thought of using Merry's head.

In the Council, I think the two best pieces are the pearl gold circle plates in the table? Have they appeared before, in, say, Prince of Persia, or are they new?

By gold plating, you mean chroming, right? Is this topic also a place to talk about the book, too? I would like to see discussion about the Character Encylopedia and Toy Soldier...- 1,076 replies

Actually, the box error is that the minifigure labelled "Barret" is actually Kyle from the Silver Mine! Very well done review; entertaining, informative (to those who haven't been searching for info on the movie like I have), and detailed. Thanks!- 39 replies

True, but don't forget Hans Henrik! He did the Goblin King Battle and Mines of Moria, and those are great, too! -
Hi! I'm a bit late on this thread, but I've gotta say, ^That^ is one of the funniest non-single-pane-funny thing I've read on Eurobricks. My thoughts on the summer sets (excluding Orthanc, you can see my thoughts on that in the press release discussion): Council of Elrond- I think this is a minifig set, and as I do not own a Gimli, a good place to get him. Elrond and Arwen are terrific, and I suspect Elrond to have rubber hair, but I hope this is not true for Arwen. The set captures Rivendell nicely, and the gold pieces and white Gothic arches...amazing. I will certainly get this set. I wonder what play features it has? Battle at the Black Gate-I like this set purely for looks and minifigs. It looks great and dark. While I know Orthanc and the gate have nothing to do with each other, I think they would look good together. I may buy two, I am currently undecided. The Mouth of Sauron and Gandalf the White are really cool, and I'd like to see the Mouth's head under the helmet. On sight, though, (which is my only problem with this set) it would appear to be 40-50 dollars. Wish it were cheaper, but it is still nice. Pirate Ship Ambush-I don't know about this one. I need to see more pictures of the ship's play features, because right now it does not catch my eye. I really want the Army of the Dead minifigures. Exclusive sand green capes, helmets, and a crown! Also, I believe it is the first use of "pale spring green" on a minifig outside of the Friends theme, and of the the color itself outside of Friends. The Wizard Battle- A good place to get Saruman for those who cannot afford/wait for Orthanc. Saruman has no robes in this set, however. I think it's a cool actor reference that the new Dooku and Saruman share the same head, as they're both Christopher Lee, and both ^^^need help out of their chair! The spinning palantir and Saruman launcher aren't great, but it's a cheap set. What do you expect? I really want that Eye of Sauron piece in the palantir. Is this the first time trans-yellow crystal balls have been seen? I will certainly get this set, if only for the trans-yellow globes and the Eye of Sauron. Those are my thoughts. Feel free to reply.

I hope that there is a set with Radagast in it later. The Istari portaits would be cruel if none of them make it into minifigure form. I like how they made Radagst's portrait brown to suit his color. I've worked out the Istari staffs: From left (who they belong to) : Gandalf, Radagast, Pallando, Saruman, Alatar. If you look at http://lotr.wikia.co...ki/Wizard_Staff, you can see that they are well replicated using minimal and existing pieces.
