  1. It is not the PotC head. It looks so familiar, but maybe it just looks so generic yet it's new. It certainly is interesting that Brickset listed it, and curious that they filed it under the Marvel Super Heroes theme. I wonder....???
  2. Brickset has posted the Jor-El polybag as a product. They've oddly filed it under Marvel. http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=5001623-1
  3. Orthanc is more likely to be like Arkham and be a primarily LEGO store and S@H exclusive
  4. ?????WHY????? I really hope this is not true, I wanted the Batman one as well!
  5. I think that when I get the Ent I will change the building procedure slightly to make his eyes even, i.e., taking out or adding a 1x1 brown plate. I think I'd like a serious Ent, not a stupid/drunk/both one! I hope he comes with more ratchet joints than ball joints, because ball joints are as annoying as #%@& to pose so that the figure has both feet firmly on the ground. I do bemoan the gray parts on the Ent, though. Why couldn't it be brown, at that price? I do have high hopes for the throwing arm, as it looks like it could chuck an orc over its shoulder OR hurl an Uruk-Hai to the ground. It's gotta be better than the Power Miners throwing monsters!
  6. I actually don't care that much about the minifigures. Gríma is okay, and Saruman with robe is excellent, but, again, the minifigures aren't driving me toward buying Orthanc. The Ent and the tower, and maybe robed Saruman are why I will buy it. EDIT: Every time I go to look at this magnificent beauty (and what will be my "precious") the duplicate photos of the Ent, and Gríma/Saruman inside the tower bug me. There should only be one of each photo. Could that be fixed?
  7. I know the helmet piece well. I felt a lot of domes with a rough texture on one side, not the crash helmet. I may be wrong, but I am fairly certain I got of box with a lot elderly men...that sounded odd!
  8. You know, I just came up with a horrible pun: I'm sure the people who get this set will be very "Orthanc-ful" to LEGO!
  9. Indeed. That set is for those who can't afford or wait for Orthanc to get Saruman.
  10. Well, LEGO won't have me buying anything from them until after August! This set is just too great to pass up. I also like that unlike the other 10_37, this set has much more playability than the Asylum. I'm gonna have to find a good place to display this. And now, my deep dark secret: I am a complete novice to LoTR! I haven't seen the movies, and yet I still love this set!! And now I wait for the onslaught of "WHY HAVEN"T YOU SEEN THE FILMS" or such like! Hey, at least I know about the terminology and what makes a Hobbit unique from a Dwarf and other things like that. The LotR and Hobbit sets have always attracted me, but I don't own one, and won't own another until after this! P.S. Detail I just noticed in the dungeon: the demonic faces in the darkness on the back wall. Neat stickers! This may be the first set I want that the minifigures don't drive me toward getting. The only minifigure-related thing I want is Saruman's robe piece. And (preparing myself for another onslaught) the Ent is actually one of the selling points for me. It was the first thing I liked about the set.
  11. Actually the beard is Neptune's and Wu's. Only in black. The Tennis Ace's hair isn't brick yellow, but Aquaman is currently the only minifigure to have so.
  12. For all you Ent-lovers, consider this: the back will probably look terrible!
  13. Actually, no. If you watch the designers' video, you can see the light is red.
  14. Yep, the one in the Wizard Battle shows the Eye of Sauron in it. The only selling point of the set for those who can't wait. (I do like those yellow crytal balls, though...) I don't understand the Ent hate either. I like him. The mushroom on its foor, its eyes, the tree on its head....he looks adorably stupid. I only wish the ratchet joint pieces could be brown. Gray and black just don't look right. Is this the second time a buildable figure like this but not Bionicle or Hero Factory has been made, with the Crystal King being the first? (CREATOR doesn't count.) The tower...I am stunned. It is absolutely enormous! It looks beautiful, and its open back doesn't bother me a bit. Just turn it to the wall!
  15. Nope, I pride myself on my feeling skills. I felt a lot of circular bald caps....The box I felt was opened in front of me, so I think it was fresh from the factory. I know enough not to judge a minifigure by a common piece, like the Grandpa and Librarian, or Librarian and Trendsetter. I search for definitive pieces.
  16. Really? 2 in a box? I don't know about WhiteFang. but the box I felt had 10+ in it.
  17. They have. Minifigures Series 7's Tennis Ace:
  18. *pic* Hmm...ya got me there! But I am glad that LEGO gave her the black spiky hair because I want it. Could be useful for a Thalia Grace custom (Rick Riordan, anyone.....?)
  19. I want to do that! In the meantime, got a pic of the messed-up headgear? I'd like to see Red's scared face with the crow on her head!
  20. True, and, more importantly, it gives LEGO more shelf space!
  21. I hope either the Christmas Elf, the Gingerbread Man or both ( ) have a candy cane piece! I'd love to see how they pull of the GM's golden-brown color! It would be awesome if the Elf came with curly shoes like the skates or rollerskates. They should attach to LEGO studs, and cover the bottom of the foot if they are made.
  22. I don't like his head. He looks like the villiage idiot dressed up. Otherwise, he's cool.
  23. Someone said way earlier that the Mine's box was, "HUGE". so I think they're somewhat new to LEGO. I mean. have they seen Arkham Asylum's box?!?
  24. I agree with you on all three! The Gingerbread Man or Holiday Elf from the next series may come with a candy cane piece, allowing to be recolored brown, though! I think the Sad Clown would be a really stupid idea for the Minifig Encyclopedia, as it really doesn't capture the spirit of the Minifigures to me, but they should've given the book Mr. Gold, instead! A book figure being an army builder is poorly thought out. We also need minifig-sized books! Playmobil has appropriately sized books! I mean, some tomes really are that big, but not every one. I mean, the Librarian is resting her arm (or it is up to arm level) on the book on the pamphelt! EDIT: I had not even thought the seagull was rubbery!
  25. That's what everyone is asking. What we need is a person who can access an unopened box with a Mr. Gold in it!
