LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
These are great! An original wizard with a new hat and a different beard (perfectly Merlin-esque), and the Battle Goddess is amazingly done as well, but I'm still not quite sure how to feel about her, The Dino Tracker's hair might be interesting, an apparent style combination of the bun and Padme's hair (I also thought of Katniss, and Dino Tracker may be an inaccurate translation), and the space miner looks like some bizarre Mars Mission and Galaxy Squad mashup. The Swashbuckler doesn't interest me except for that hat in brown, and the Gamer Guy looks a little bland, but okay. And unfortunately, we can't judge the skirt based on the renders. Most of the time, it doesn't look overly cloth-like but it turns out to be. The only time LEGO has done a plastic skirt-like piece was for the Mandalorian leg armor.- 1,109 replies

Well, unfortunately, that seems like the likeliest way to get him (and several other characters) but I don't want to even make predictions about the exclusives!

That's great, and well thought out, but you should make your own topic for it (when you can) so that it can get separate attention.

I don't think the new cowl is a redesign, just a new cowl (not to replace the current one). As to Iron Man, it's unlikely, but I'd like to see the Mk. 1 and Rescue. The big-figs have been used by TT Games now wherever they can. LEGO The Hobbit had them, too.

To validate a previous discussion, the hooded figure on Psyclone's screen and Terabyte's laptop is indeed a cliffhanger plot point. In the HQ chapter of the app, it tries to teleport into the truck using the prison pod before Hydron ends the teleportation transmission. and it's hinted at providing info to the other villains "Tremor not know. Tracks knows". The end of the chapter has the narrator asking "Who is this mysterious leader", etc. and has a "to be continued..." The plot truly does thicken. It may be a supernatural force or a renegade Agent. Hmm...

Well, the exclusives don't ban the minifigures from appearing in sets. LEGO is probably still laughing about Azog in Dol Guldur Battle. So Phoenix, Green Arrow, and the more well-known characters aren't impossible, just not terribly likely. Beyond Gotham is giving us more of a possibility than ever before for a GL.

It comes up in the search bar as a suggested address, but 404s when I load it.

Neither LEGO nor DC would endorse that, so if you noticed it, then they did. It probably isn't that.

I don't think that's supposed to be a heart shape, if that's what you mean. It's just a weird impossible minifig pose.

Just trying out the app, it's interesting, but no backstory whatsoever. Why does Toxikita sound like a fifty-year old woman with a deep voice when she looks around 20? All of the voices are strange. The games are standard Lego.com-style fare, and the comics are slightly animated.

I blame the Eurobricks community, but I am (now) a LEGO purist, i.e, no Mega Bloks, KRE-O, etc. I have heard people confuse the "rip-off brands" for LEGO, but, honestly, I don't mind too much. In fact, that people identify other building toys as LEGO just proves that it's still on top. I also have a peeve of owners of both mixing the two brick types. I seek old assortments of LEGO at garage sales, and when I do score a bag or two, there are always Mega Bloks and other toys mixed in. These are separated or trashed.

The new space wings are trans-clear! It's almost certain this Batman will appear in at least one set physically.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 12 Rumours and Discussion
8BrickMario replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is odd that the S8 Diver used those. As mentioned, the 1x1s were declared a design flaw for the "Frankenstein's Monster" minifigure, so I don't see why they used the same idea later when they could have stuck with the foot printing and avoid loose connection flaws. For the same reason, Lord Business's legs come with slopes inserted in them to enforce the connection to the giant feet.- 1,109 replies

I'd say the developers got sneak peeks of the unreleased sets (Lab Smash, Blackbird, Truck Heist) and based the characters/vehicles in-game off of the sets. Some elements, like M.O.D.O.K.'s chair are slightly different from the physical models, meaning the sets may have been tweaked since the game was made prerelease. I'm fairly certain that TT Games don't have the LEGO rendering skills to create their own models from scratch for the games without a reference. So yes, the sets existed and the game designers used those as reference for the game, and then the sets were released. I hope that's cleared up now.

Batman gets top billing as usual... isn't this more of a Green Lantern game? Either way, I'm excited about it. I can't wait to see how it plays compared to the previous Batman and Lego Marvel.

May 25 was the official release date of the sets, so it's odd that the website and app weren't added at the same time.

The dresses attach with studs, being slope bricks. The legs have special pegs that fit more snugly in the torso, A specific dress piece would be welcome.- 1,109 replies

I appreciate the references, but by now his art is being overlinked on this topic We already have links. Good point, though, but it wouldn't make too much sense, but it's always possible.- 1,109 replies

Content-wise I would go for the Charger and Destructoid. Both look better to me, and have really clever play features.

Strangely, the minisite isn't up yet. It should be within a couple of days, though.

I really liked the open-world exploration of MSH, and that you performed tasks to unlock characters, rather than the small-world TLM and Hobbit games, where characters were unlocked after levels and only bought. An open Gotham would be great to see done on the newer consoles!

Glass slippers could be like the ice skates or roller skates. But the frog idea is really clever as well.- 1,109 replies
