    I don't know about seasonal. I think this is just LEGO taking advantage of the perfect opportunity to run a Scooby-Doo theme, a Halloween CMF series both around Halloween time. I still don't believe that this series releases in October. By the three-month shelf life pattern, the Simspons series 2 should be on its way out and replaced by 14 in August, and it will run through October. If it's released in October, it doesn't give people nearly as much time to collect them before Halloween (LEGO releases seasonal characters in their CMF series in plenty of time for the holiday it corresponds to), and it would be stupid for the series to still be in stores during November and December. Unless they plan to sell Simpsons S2 for a longer time or they leave a gap between it and S14, there's no reason it would come out in October.

    Somehow the rumor got out of hand and everyone equated "monsters" to "Scooby". And now we know it's more general than either of the two. I like the real monsters more than the costumes, though, since the costumes have proven to be rather obvious so far.

    Before the pictures leaked, everyone thought it was a Scooby-Doo series. Once the pictures leaked, we realized that some of the characters (Tiger Girl, Man-eating Plant Guy) were obvious costumes.

    I saw the movie today, and I was so tempted to get it- Batzarro looked great- but I'm going to wait a couple of days. I'm not going to miss out though. I want that figure (and the black tattered cape could be quite useful).

    Why make it white at all? Batzarro's mask never has eyeholes.

    When I said clues, it was meant as a pun, since the pictures gave us no idea how the unmasking will work. I'm guessing at spare heads so the monster faces can be used as separate masks, and the Zombie can't have a second face.

    So, on Valentine's Day, we're seeing the villainous couple in an abusive relationship that have had the term "Mad Love" associated with them? Okay! (But seriously, I am really hoping they'll have the final DC figs. We know from Harley's legs that they're being produced.

    This. I saw the set only once in person at Target. A few weeks later when I got into MF, I missed the set because it had just sold out permanently and became discontinued. The online prices for The Zombies and its minifigures are brutal. Honestly, though, I'll take any monstrous bride. Ghost, Frankenstein, zombie, anything! EDIT: What if there's an Igor (hunchback) in the series? We haven't had one since the Studios theme, but now there's three mad scientists since. Perhaps they'd figure out a better way to create the hunched bask than using a basket on his back.

    The only thing about Batzarro that bugs me is that he has white eyes. Batzarro always has an opaque visor on his cowl that covers his eyes. LEGO could have just made it a black sweatband...The lavender color is another odd choice.

    It's a nice idea, but it seems too vague/overlapping to be its own topic. Speculation isn't really helpful or fun without evidence, though, and a thread with random ideas doesn't seem like it would do much.

    Why? I don't understand what you mean by "Future DC discussion". We've mostly discussed the 2015 releases (as it's what we know). Everything else is speculation, not confirmed for the future.

    I'm wondering how each monster is "unmasked". The photos of Mystery Mansion and the Mystery Machine (which look like they will be S@H images) didn't show any spare minifigure heads for Big Bob or Zeke's faces, but in the Zombie's case, he can't have a second face, and for the Vampire, it doesn't look like it would work on a white head to have two faces. I'm honestly hoping there are alternate heads so I can use the monsters as real ones instead of disguises, but so far there are no...clues...as to how LEGO will do the unmasking.

    I like the snowmobile one. On the contrary, though, I feel like these new ones aren't as interesting as their predecessors. They feel less "quirky and unique" and more "C'mon, guys! We have to churn out more Frosticons and Glorp Corp!" I thought the second round of Infernites was fine, but these seem less interesting than the groups before them. Maybe I was too attached to Slumbo and Torts to accept Slusho (who's not at all original in design) and the others. I'm totally picking up Berp, Vaka-Waka, and the scrap and tongue tribes, though!

    If the prelim boxes didn't show the helmet, then we're probably not going to get it. They will usually have prototypes of the new pieces in the prelims (if the fig doesn't have a placeholder), such as Drillex's drill gloves being shown in white, then changing to gunmetal gray in the final set. I didn't see a blank Deathstroke helmet on him, so I don't think we'll get it.

    I just hope that if they do a mummy/vampire/headless horseman that they can make it different enough from either previous versions or the Scooby versions. We've had several mummies before, as Halloween monsters and undead Egyptians. I would love an evil genie (it would be an opportunity for LEGO to reuse the Snake Charmer's turban in red or dark red, and there's a Boudon design of such a thing waiting for LEGO) but that'll probably be for a regular series. It's not very Halloween-themed.

    The one with the huge tongue has Chima wings? Okay! I'm really starting to like the scrap-metal tribe.

    That's the thing, too. I'm really hoping that the shining reports of Jokerland mean that it's better looking than the prelims indicate. How did so much discussion about the Flash arise? Oh well, I'll contribute. If we got a set with Reverse Flash, it would make more sense for LEGO to go classic, since they can just repaint the Flash instead of creating a different mask to match the 52 version better. Although I never thought Zoom looked like a threat running around in bright yellow...

    There's really no other image that comes to mind when one hears "Bride of Frankenstein". Everyone thinks of Elsa Lanchester's character with the black beehive and white stripes. She's become an iconic Universal Monster, but I don't know if LEGO would make her, because she's slipped in and out of the public domain. A ghostly bride would be really cool, though. I would probably turn a figure like that into a Constance Hatchaway from Disney's Haunted Mansion. If there is a vampire in this series, what if he's not a Dracula-styled one? What if it was a homage to Count Orlok?

    Don't expect major changes. Prelims often differ little from the final product. Hope for greater depth to the set, because it's not going to be very different when we see it next week.

    About half of those would take a lot of effort to make into effective playsets, and if play features can't be added, LEGO won't make it, which is a shame.

    I doubt it. I don't think any monsters would be exclusives. Probably just a variant of Scooby or the Mystery Gang.

    If only mine wasn't next month. I'll just have to settle for the new Ultra Agents sets! I'll try to find some way to save up for it, because I know I'm going to get it no matter how much it lives up to its price. And I won't be able to wait for the holidays!
