  1. At first my mentality was "I'll buy all of the sets, just to get the monsters", but seeing the Toy Fair pics has made me appreciate the sets as well as their minifigures. There's just some great things in all of them.
  2. Hmm. That's interesting. Then what color are LEGO using for her skin? I was trying to guess what the Super Jumper gimmick in Jokerland is. It can only be one of two things, though, judging by the play features: 1. The jumping figure knocks Robin down from under Harley's bike or 2. The jumping figure tips back the sign and plant on the free fall to lower Starfire to the ground. As for the Batboat, no clue what the Jumper's for. I've noticed there are a lot of pink pieces in the clown's mouth, including a door frame. I think it's sort of hilarious that everyone complains about Friends being too pink and girly, while the first pink LEGO door frame is in a DC set...
  3. They're probably just going to be reworded. For example, I'm guessing the scientist will be called "Mad" instead of "Crazy" to distinguish him from the CMF and MF Crazy Scientists. The witch might be referred to as a "Halloween Witch", because her design revolves on the Halloween witch stereotypes (wild hair, stripy stockings, etc.) and resembles a costume. My guess list for official names: Zombie Cheerleader Tiger Girl Halloween Witch Flytrap Man/Man-eating Plant Skeleton Guy/Boy Lady Vampire/Vampiress Lumberjack Werewolf/Werewolf Lumberjack Zombie Businessman Mad Scientist Zombie Pirate Captain Rocker Monster
  4. I think the lighting is confusing my eyes, because it's making Starfire look like she has tanner skin than Ivy or Penguin. I keep looking again, but she still looks darker-skinned. Even on the box in the minifigure lineup. I know there's no color that matches what I'm seeing, but it's odd how the lighting on her is making her skin look darker. And I do sincerely apologize for my annoying ranting and raving. But for me, giving New 52 Harley a hat instead of the hair that's made for her is like finally releasing Raven in a set and somehow neglecting to give her a hood. It's a stupid choice that ignores the obvious solution.
  5. I think what you say is validI do feel like the separate Jokerland modules are a bit lacking as separate pieces, but their play features and the park as a whole are terrific in my opinion. I hated the Batboat, too. It's not sleek or organized. In Harley's case, I agree. Even if the costume used the hat, the minifigure just looks horrible with it. It gives up an odd "toughness" vibe that really clashes with the New 52 look. I feel bad for griping about it so much, but what really makes me want to bash my head against the wall and weep is that LEGO is apparently ignoring the perfect piece, either through a lazy unwillingness to make an accurate fig, or pure stupidity: I am praying to the LEGO Gods (that's right, the CMF Ocean King and Battle Goddess ) that Harley includes that pigtails hair piece in red and black in the final set. Perhaps it couldn't make it to Toy Fair and the hat will also be included? That's my delusional explanation for why the hat's on the box art. I'm actually legitimately worried that it really won't be there, since the existence of the mold is the only thing keeping me hoping.... Nothing else about what we've seen today indicates that Harley will have anything else. Okay, I'm done. No more.
  6. I would guess that there's a Technic pin on either the head or the neck, so kids don't traumatize themselves by knocking Scooby's head off in the middle of play. (In other words, to make the attachment more secure).
  7. I was suspicious that the picture was a trick of the eye, but I just haven't trained my skepticism well enough. Alright, then. I'm almost glad they're the same. For LEGO to make such a large design retcon probably would send the community up in flames, anyway.
  8. Nice spot! I wonder what this massive change will mean. All the stiff-legged children, Yodas and dwarves will be invalidated now! I wonder how the legs look when sitting, because the third-party ones looked ridiculous when bent in the sitting position.
  9. I love the new coffin print! That spiked ball shouldn't be too effective, though, if it doesn't look like it would reach the doors of the Mystery Mansion...
  10. It looks nothing like him.
  11. More DC pics! (for those who didn't see the video.) Harley's other face looks good! Penguin's the Arkham version, Starfire is terrific, the man-eating plant uses the new giant shell pieces, and I'm loving the graffitied signs! The set's play features, however...make me want it immediately! The tongue of the clown throwing a minifig down the slide, the dropper ride, the Ducky Wheel, Harley's bike, the fact that they all work so well makes it a perfect playset. Never mind that I might find myself playing with it every now and then... I'm just hoping some production complications prevented a red/black pigtails hairpiece from being ready to show at the Toy Fair...
  12. I'm glad about the new dual-plastic legs. LEGO's certainly taking advantage of it; several minifigures in Series 14 have them as well.
  13. So it is Brainstein! The plot thickens...
  14. It's not makeup. Harley's skin was bleached in the New 52, thanks to Joker. Her eyes do match the source material she's (99 percent) based on.
  15. Those look great! The Keeper looks good, though he would be better with a cape, and the Horseman is still a bit bright, but he looks nice. Is that chain behind the museum wall to pull up the sarcophagus? The Swamp ??? looks good, and it's definitely not a match for any previous Gill-men on the Scooby-Doo shows, so I'll assume he's on a new one. I also like how well the skull rock blends into the Lighthouse.
  16. No. Bizarro has two faces, one angry, one sad. There's just not enough space on a minifigure head (nor has the technology adjusted) to allow for three faces to be printed on it, not mentioning that it wouldn't work with headgear. Bizarro also has only one head, so no, three-faced minifigures do not exist and are not possible.
  17. Without two minifigure heads, that shouldn't be possible. Maybe the tooth-sticking out face is the same as the squiggly-mouth face?
  18. Considering that Starfire and Beast Boy are in the same set, I'm calling TTG on his design.
  19. I'm still crossing my fingers on Harley. That hat really makes her look awful, never mind the inaccuracy. I understand why New 52 Harley doesn't wear a hat now, because it doesn't look good on the new costume. Everything else looks perfect. The only way I would excuse LEGO for not using the pigtails hair in red and black is that they couldn't make it work. But if Two-Face can have two-color hair, why can't Harley? I'll hold out a tiny bit of hope that there will be a hairpiece for her by the time the set's in stores, but it worries me that it wasn't shown if she does have it. ...But when I said that a prelim image would usually contain prototypes for new molds (citing Drillex's gauntlets)...the Zombie Cheerleader's hair wasn't on the Jokerland box. Harley's hat was. Taking another look at Jokerland: Beast Boy looks sort of evil, doesn't he? Starfire still looks excellent. It's the cartoon design without the annoying gigantic animesque eyes! That magenta hair is really nice, too. I like the acid-splash stickers on the vat at Jokerland. And the signs for the villains' attractions. Yes, I am praising the stickers. Joker's face looks slightly different. The new Batmobile's cab looks nice, but it's still quite similar to the 2006 and 2012 ones. I'm going to get both sets no matter what, but seeing them here has made me warm up to them quite a bit.
  20. TT Games designs are never actually used by LEGO once they decide to make a character featured in a previous LEGO game.Harley and Deathstroke are proof of it.
  21. I'm thinking "King Nixel" due to the golden crystal.
  22. I think it's just a cylinder that's printed, but the dome makes it difficult to tell.
  23. I want these! The Horseman looks much better now. The Mummy is a cross between the MF and Pharaoh's Quest mummies, but it still looks good. I'm glad to see some scared faces for the gang!
  24. NO! Harley cannot have that hat! What is LEGO thinking? How can they miss such a perfect opportunity? What did they design that pigtail hair for?!?! Okay, calm down...She looks good, but I will be incredibly disappointed if she does not have the pigtails as an alternative in the set. To not use the piece would be lazy and stupid. We guessed we were getting the New 52 version because of the hair, so why wouldn't she have it? Jokerland looks good. I like the slide much better in purple, and the duck Ferris wheel looks okay. Ivy's man-eating plant looks like it uses new pieces on the jaws, since they don't look like the standard dishes. The little bomb clown robot is neat, and I'll forgive the not-Joker archway. Starfire looks really nice, and the small dishes on her hands look good. Deathstroke was to be expected, and the new Robins look really nice. The Batboat is..unique. Happy Valentine's Day! I put Mr. J and Harley together...well, maybe other people can celebrate properly!
  25. It's just that the head doesn't appear to relate to the costume-or anything else. He should have a skull-shaped mask of some sort.
