Hi folks, Not really a brickflick, but Shell have a competition at the moment to make a film or take a photo of one of their lego cars that they are giving away with £30 of fuel at their petrol stations (“giving” isn’t the right term. If you buy £30 you then have the privilege of buying one for £1.50…). The idea is to create a video or photo of the car doing stunts around the house. Here’s my entry! The competition (and all important voting page! :) for anyone that's interested can be found here! http://www.shell.co.uk/gbr/products-services/on-the-road/shell-fuels/ferrari-model-lego-collection/lego-challenge.html Duck

#5Goals August Edition - Lego Premier League Action
Duck replied to Duck's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Had to be done with Fellaini's hair! Just typical Moyes had to do a last-second grab for him before I published the video :P. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! :D -
Hi folks, I’m a bit later than planned getting this up and running (due to me going on holiday quite inconsiderately!) – anyway. I’ve created 5 goals from August from the English Premier League and am getting people to vote. This project may work or it might fall flat on it’s face but worth a shot eh? ;) See what you think! LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Duck replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Picked up a couple from my local ASDA - the barbarian (will make a good gladiator!) and the policeman. I think the policemans hat is the best part of this series - as that's what policemen (on foot) generally wear in my little corner of England. Good show TLG! -
Spotted this while in my local lego shop (Liverpool) the other day. Great to see a pirates set released, but disappointed with the lack of new parts. I think if they'd removed one of the generic pirates and added a different one (even pre-existing) or a redcoat I'd be swayed into buying it though. Sadly £10.99 is too much for me for something I already own the entirety of (except the females head!)

Thanks for the replies! I'll probably go down the very similar kit but no real logos route to be on the safe side. I'll let you know how I get on!

Okay so a couple of things before I start! 1) I'm not sure if this should be here or in the academy - feel free to move this mods, as appropriate 2) I'm not expecting there to be a solicitor out there to answer this in a legal advice way! (although if there is, that would certainly help!) So, I have this idea for a brickflick series. Basically I'd like to base it on the coming Premier League season (similar to brick-by-brick but with a slight twist). I generally tend to monetize my videos if they dont breach copyright - I dont upload them with any intention of making money (Lets face it, no one would ever make a living from youtube advertising) but as their there, why not earn a tiny bit from them? Now, I'm just a bit concerned about where the line is where I could go from it all being fine and dandy to me getting sued from here until tomorrow... I'd like to use custom decals - but if they include a club logo or sponsorship, I'm assuming this is in breach of trademark laws? Is this any different to someone monetizing a video of an official lego batman with the logo on it (there are plenty of those around!)? If I choose not to monetize, would I then get away with decals? If it's all a big no-no (which is what I suspect), I'll just go for blank kits and I'm assuming I should get away with that? As I say, I'm just a bit unsure what's legal and what's not - I might be being overly paranoid however. Any help is appreciated! Duck

Hi all, There is currently a twitter campaign to get SEGA to release Shenmue 3, the final part of a trilogy of games from the dreamcast days. The campaign centres around fans making the same tweet @Sega on the 3rd of each month (for Shenmue 3) asking for the original writer to be given the license to make the 3rd installment elsewhere if SEGA wont. For a creative tweet, I made a lego video of one of the old mini-games from Shenmue 2 - accompanied by the original (comical) dubbed soundtrack. As a result, after uploading this video last night I've already had 300+ views, which is a first for me in less than 24 hours! If you've never played the game, this probably wont make much sense at all! Here goes anyway!

I'm struggling to understand? Were you quoting my second post or have you made your own version? And yep, Fred, it was fun to make as the original clip was so random anyway it deserved a remake! Hehe. -

I've now created a second version of this using the original viral video's soundtrack :) -

Hi folks, I dont know if anyone has watched the original - but a video that has just gone viral in the last couple of days features an utterly gripping telephone conversation, the dialogue of which can never be matched up to, from an old unknown film. I'd highly recommend watching the original first - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hroUeu4IvpE Purely for my own amusement, I recreated the scene, using the original unbeatable script: Camera went a bit crazy at the end, sorry! I hope you enjoyed it anyway - cheers for looking Duck

I'm pretty certain that at the tender age of six or seven, this was my first ''big'' set, bought for a birthday or christmas. It was truelly amazing and provided many many hours of fun. I still have the base, much to the missus's anoyance given that it's a difficult to store discreetly one! Nothing would make me part with it however. A fantastic remake. Well done!

Using the Collectable Series Minifigs to Create Custom Blue and Red Co
Duck replied to Dr. Steve's topic in Pirate MOCs
Let us not forget the wig! That's one of the most amazing piratey-themed items to come from the CMF series so far. I think that will be excellent for any MOC's concerning "posher" members of society. Those bluecoats look great also! I've got a couple so far, but am yet to try them in full bluecoat attire, so thanks for sharing! -
REVIEW: 71001 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10
Duck replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The Roman, Warrior Woman & Revolutionary soldiers are the only ones I'm too bothered about from this series, and thus they are the ones I've got a couple of each so far! The revolutionary soldier is going to be so useful for pirate-related stuff. Finally there is a bluecoat design to fit in with the good old 2009 redcoats! And the wig is amazing! The Roman meanwhile is awesome, although I would have preferred that they'd kept the silvery helmet to fit in with the Legionaries better. The warrior womans shield is fantastic and I've actually been using it as a shield for the Romans (as the bird could be an eagle - I know it's not quite the typical roman shield but it's close enough!).- 114 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Duck replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Being in the middle of a temporary break from Lego, yesterday was my first time spotting (or even realising) S10 was out in UK shops. I got the three I wanted: The centurion, revolutionary soldier and warrior lady and was happy. I think my favourite out of them is the revolutionary soldier (new-style bluecoats huzzar!) . I'm a bit disappointed that the centurions helmet is just grey and not silver like the other roman soldiers - he just looks a bit "cheap" next to the others - would have been great with a shield also. With regards to Mr Gold.... I didn't know of his existence but I did think it was a little odd that there were 12 opened boxes of them CMF's on the shop floor!- 1,076 replies

Recieved mine today! Thanks CopMike! I then had to convince the missus that I hadnt been buying things off ebay again... I think I managed it. Eventually.
-
It's all lies about me at the end there!... I could never climb that high... Great entry Sebeus, really enjoyable and great that you used so many avatars!
-
Great looking sets! The Cavalry builder looks great! Anyone sense that ebay is going to be full of the (actual) lone ranger minifigure - given he's going to be quite common in those sets! Another Jack Sparrow, basically!
-
Some of us are shorter so need to be further forward! Nice team photo! Only just spotted it!

With the aniversary, I wouldnt be too surprised to see a re-re-release of BSB perhaps? If it was literally going to be a one off special I think that would be more in TLC's interest than making a brand new set for the occasion... Beat me to it! It wouldnt look too out of place going up against the fancy 2009 redcoat torso!
-
Glad you like it, on the first picture however I do explain that the redcoats and pirates were "engaged in an intense battle" - so they certainly are firing at each other!
