That's brilliant! The ending really made me chuckle as sorting bricks is a large chunk of being an AFOL! Saw one of these about girl gamers the other day and thought about if there was a lego option!

Bagpiper all the way! I'm a bit disappointed to see that there are no Romans this time... Better get stocked up on soldiers before the current wave ends!

Hi chaps! Here is a short brickflick I made just for fun really. Its only fifty seconds long but I hope you'll like it! Let me know! Thanks for watching! Duck

I was actually after wheels on the last occasion I was in for a city project - they had the tyres but not hub-cap bits which was slightly illogical! Similarly they had castle/pirate window panes but no arched outer windows. I'm going back to Liverpool in a week or so, and so I'll have a look what redcoat/piratey bits are in the minifig station then!

This is very cool! I may look into it as a possibility for my larger ship - as its always a trauma trying to get each cannon out during a brickflick while not moving the ship out of position/disrupting minifigures or generally ruining the entire scene! If it was done with a mechanism it would make life easier and smoother! Thanks for sharing!

Very impressive! Yet still classic-piratey! What a spacious cabin Redbeard now has! Lucky fella'! Take that Brickbeard!
-
A very nice MOC - Very detailed for the size of it! The lookout had better check things closer to home rather than keeping an eye on the horizon!

A very valid reason! My name comes from back at college where while playing football, I was accused of running... like a Duck! And it stuck. Not quite sure how I run like a Duck... in that sense the lad who accused me ran like a coke-vending-machine on legs!

Sadly some of us have to tick the next box now :(. It saddens me that being 25 I'd now be in the "old" category on x-factor even! My, that was a remarkably short survey.... Perhaps that was purely to give them a quick picture of what age-group is most active on Lego.com and where their from? But surely they could just get that from SAH accounts? It dunnae' make sense Cap'n!

I think (and again stress that I am no expert!) that it would generally follow the same principle as Star Wars music - where if its not for profit you might get away with it. I did try and read up about copyright during my lunch hour. Generally the law seems pretty clear - if something is copyrighted you have to have permission from the copyright holder to use it. Some (but not all) countries have a "fair use" policy, where you are allowed to use a clip of music for example - but it seems that it has to make up the minority of what you are producing (i.e. your whole video couldn't just be a clip from actual star wars!), not be for profit, and not be damaging to the copyright holder (going to reduce sales). However, its best to check your own countries law regarding this. Unless you could argue fair use, you do run the risk of being sued if the copyright holder felt it necessary to press charges. In my own view, a brickflick is probably not going to be particularly damaging to Star Wars and so this would be very unlikely, but its not impossible. Most likely, if there was a complaint your video would be removed or muted. That is my own understanding - basically it is at your own risk you upload something with a copyrighted tune in it to youtube. Again, it is probably best to generally ignore my advice as its probably wrong, but just sharing some thoughts on it!)

All I can say is - Amazing! I just wish I had the time, patience, bricks and space to build something that well shaped and detailed! Nice find!

Looks really good! I think a darker door and window panes would look more authentic but as a set conversion from a totally different theme goes, this is pretty great!

With infringing copyright you always run the risk of videos being removed. However probably the vast majority of videos on Youtube feature copyrighted music and barely any of them will have any rights to use it. About 99% of LEGO Star Wars brickflicks I've watched certainly use the music and dont seem to have had any problems. I think (and I am in no way qualified as a lawyer) that as long as your not making money out of the video and its purely as a hobby you shouldnt have too many problems. Also, I noticed with one video that I uploaded which included a tune by Taio Cruz in the background - Youtube automatically recognised the tune and put a link to where you can legally pay for and download the tune - so its possibly seen as a good source of advertising by some artists. Someone else slightly more knowledgable on the subject might well disagree but with Star Wars music you should generally be okay ! Duck Duck and Quackingproductionco accepts no responsibility if anyone follows this advice and gets sued!

Sorry for being a nuisance Seigfried! Feel free to just delete the second post then :). Sorry again! Duck

Hi castle/history lovers! I know that we have a special brickflicks forum but thought this video might be of particular interest to those who visit this one! I would like to present to you my latest brickflick which is a "guide" to the rather weak marriage system in Skyrim! Take a look! All C&C appreciated :)

Very nice! Only a fool and his army would dare attack such a fortress! However, with so many men taking up the space, is there room to store enough food to survive a siege? Lovely fortress! Duck

Thanks for the feedback Frank! I was a bit unsure about the slopes in the middle myself but thought that as this isnt supposed to be a precisely historically accurate ship they might be a nice feature. I might get rid of those next time I drop it on my bedroom floor however! Glad you like the stern design also!

Nice work! I really like the fact you've done all this without too much use of custom torsos! I think the tyre on the head of the Horse Artilleryman looks quite effective!

As a point of interest I used printed roads in my latest brickflick. These were ones that I made myself but I think the effect was reasonable and therefore lego style roads might be possible if they follow a similar format. The roads became quite battered though through use so perhaps laminating them might work if the facilities were available! For anyone interested the film is below - I must warn you however it does contain some strong language! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br8CDndjg5s&list=UU6s2O_EADRR47BeaGvBaLXw&index=1&feature=plcp

Hi folks! I am pleased to bring you my latest brickflick "Lego Theft Auto". The film sees a new gang in-town attempt to rob the city's bank. You are also saved from the pain of hearing me attempting female voices as my girlfriend did those thankfully! I must warn you that this film contains some strong language. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=br8CDndjg5s&list=UU6s2O_EADRR47BeaGvBaLXw&index=1&feature=plcp All c&c appreciated! Duck

I must admit that I've not really tried many methods. Perhaps you could enlighten me of your one if you've been through the same process? Well being in a one-bedroom flat I have a choice of the living room, bedroom or toilet to do my sorting so theres a 1 in 3 chance I'll be in the same room as her (1 in 2 if we discount the toilet as thats pretty unlikely!). But yeah its nice, and she's pretty tolerent of my hobby! I even got her to do some voices for my next brickflick so I think I'm converting her! With Blackadder, I've seen them a zillion times before so even if I get distracted I know whats happening! It was my first time of watching hornblower mind and I found not so much sorting took place! Stand-up comedy on iPlayer or similar is a good option also as it just requires listening and not watching most of the time!

Fantastic, thanks for that Whitefang! Although it did increase my posts per day to something like 0.017!

A nice guide to getting the most out of PAB cups! I was going to follow the technique in Liverpool today but sadly what was on offer wasn't really what I was after and was often illogical (such as tyres but no inner parts...). I shall try next time however!

When I used to live with my parents I'd usually work my way through various box-sets and television series. Blackadder, Hornblower & Sharpe are amongst many that I've had on in the background. Nowadays I live with my girlfriend and so she is in-charge of the TV schedule... So I just sit there and sort while we're watching something (usually of her preference) which I feel does not require 100% of my attention . Not quite sure why I bother sorting mind, as I can never find the bits I'm after and so end up tipping half of it out over the carpet anyway
