Time for an update . The disadvantage of a full hull battle ship is that it keeps tipping over when I'm building away from the central axis. To counter this I made this stand to keep it level. This stand will also be usefull to put the ship on display when it's finished. Now, as for the ship itself... The hold has been closed off. At times I considered having at least a partial interior there but in the end I favored structural integrity. A great number of bulkheads make sure the hull remains sturdy. On top of the hold we have the orlop deck, rarely seen on MOC ships since it is located below the waterline. This is the first interior section of the ship. Since I don't know yet what will be visible and what not, I decided to do detail the complete deck. Leaving some space in the rearmost area to anticipate a sturdy foundation of the sterncastle. I will attempt to have some openings on the port side of the ship to allow an insight in the interior. this will be challenging given the structural needs of this large ship. It'd be a shame not to display this underpresented area of the ship. The beam was slightly increased to 28 studs, making this ship wider that my Flying Dutchman and so making this my largest ship so far . I'm currently considering to maybe add some light functions to the lower area's, it's going to be quite dark in there. Grates may also be a solution there. I don't exactly like the idea of having a battery box to hide away somewhere. That's it for now, I have most of the ship planned out but feel free to express your idea's and suggestions. enjoy!

Well done! For me, the custom hull is the real highlight of this creation. I never quite liked the colour scheme of the original SES, good call to go for dark red and neglect the green gun flaps .

[MOC] Ancient Egyptian Cat Worshipping
Sebeus I replied to Sebeus I's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Building instructions are now online! Rebrickable I worked with someone to make this happen but I do plan to do more building instructions of some of my other models in the future, on my own account. -

It's funny, in my mind those don't fit either, although for another reason. The lantern design seems a bit old-fashioned for a modern submarine. Hmmm, let's find out if those canopies exist in transp. green .

The Sea Flap Flap, a one-person submersible for recreative use. Twin propeller for agile manoeuvrability. As the name suggests, there are plenty of flaps on this little craft. I've always wanted to try that windshield combo. It takes some effort to implement it in a good way though. Sea you again for next underwater adventure!

It's been a while since I last did a contest, this one is perfect to get back into it. The Arctic Explorer, an Ice Planet MOC. It was quite challenging to be using only four colours, Especially when I realized the only transparent orange canopy I had was one from the Aquasharks. Building a Jet fighter has been on my list for some time so I decided shape my space ship accordingly. I never owned any of the Ice Planet 2002 sets though, I think I've got the minifigs' visor from a Time Cruisers set . I did get these printed blue canopies from a friend, years ago, they were excellent to hide the small vehicle and satellite. The trike folds to fit in the cargo bay. I'm not entirely happy with it though, I think the front is a bit messy, a differently shaped canopy may have been helpful here. It was a fun exercise, quite challenging. EDIT: I forgot to show off it's radar . It folds into the fuselage, though in quite a cumbersome way.

A silly question perhaps but I feel Insectoids is missing on this list, or is that too recent to qualify?

Very impressive! It would be epic to see a ship sailing through there .

I had the pleasure of seeing it in person . I love all of it!

Thank you, It's funny you should mention, I'm actually considering getting a Rebrickable account . I want to finish some other modifications on the Slave I first though and then release it as a complete package.

I made a kinetic sculpture of an exploration car challenging rough road conditions. (Find it on LEGO Ideas) The video says it all really. The vehicle is attached to the landscape on the starboard side, keeping it in place. I hope you like it, don't forget to comment and support . Thank you!

[MOC ] Pirates strictly come dancing ... (Let's dance)
Sebeus I replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Pirate MOCs
What a lovely dancing hall, I like how you made those hoop skirts . -
I could... But once a contest is over I easily lose the incentive to build further in the concerned theme. However, since this is the pirate theme, I might actually go ahead with the Eldorado extension at some point . Thanks .

[WIP] HMS LIVELY 38 Gun Frigate (Step 3)
Sebeus I replied to boeing_787_8_dreamliner's topic in Pirate MOCs
This is an interesting endeavor, I'd like to see where this goes, keep up the good work! -
Thank you all for the nice comments. If there had been more time for this contest I would have considered making an Eldorado Fortress based expansion as well. Thanks, I have been doing that for a long time now although it's been a while since I last posed a building.

My second entry into the 90th anniversary contest at LEGO Ideas. This build are actually two builds, One is based on the classic pirates set Broadside Brig (although it might as well be Lagoon Lock-up, the two are conceptually very similar)... ...The other is based on 6265 Sabre Island. But the real star of this creation is the little ship! The hull is very similar to my earlier one (Cross Bone Clipper) Only the Broadside Brig part has an interior, although there's plenty of space to make some on Sabre Island as well.

I finally got around making a new ship... boat... dinghy... Yes, it's quite small . The Cross Bone Clipper is based on the classic 1997 Pirates set with the same name (6250 Cross Bone Clipper). I never had that set though, I believe it was never even sold in Europe. As this is an entry in a LEGO Ideas contest, I worked with a brick built sail. But I might add custom rigging later, she'll do well as a cutter I think . I actually considered having a limited sleeping compartment in the aft of the boat. However, earlier designs ended up being too gritty to my liking. An interesting fact: while my version is only half the size of the original set, it does contain twice the amount of parts. I'm hoping to build more of these small ships as they are very suitable to fill my Island harbor.
