Update 28/06/2014: third submarine coming up (surfacing ). Two exploration submarines, The yellow one is named Leviathan and the blue one goes by the name Mantis. The Swordfish, a reconnaissance submarine: I created the underwater effect by placing a transparent blue panel in front of the lens . The top of the submarine is detachable to reveal the interior, not that there is much interior, just enough room to fit a minifigure. I hope to inspire atleast someone to join me in my quest to get the Aquazone back up and running . We need more submarines and underwater bases. More pictures can be found at my brickshelf Gallery: Leviathan Mantis Swordfish

Nice! I'm planning to visit the Art of the Brick soon, I'll check it out up close then .

O yes! Arctic returns! I loved the old theme, I'm definitely going to spend my money on this one .

That would certainly be the first of its kind but it also seems an incredible challenge, to combine high tech machinery with relative primitive tall ship... Definitely not an obvious Idea but I'd like to see it happen

L'Impérial - First Rate Ship of the Line
Sebeus I replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Pirate MOCs
Well done, I love the sight of that stern, the rounded shape is indeed a characteristic of a french ship-of-the-line I believe, it certainly looks great atleast.- 26 replies

Nicely done, the row deck must be very crowded with so many peddels sticking out . Great display stand as usual.

I often find it difficult to find a good name for a ship, my last one, the Christine, well, that's actually my mother's name . A name like this fits well for a tradingship, less for a warship. As for your french ship, you could also call it 'Aquila' which is latin for eagle (it's also the name of the ship from the game Assassins Creed 3).

I was thinking about photoshopping my entry next to my teammate's, as far as it would be possible atleast. Would that be allowed?

The hulls of the Brickbeard Bounty match colors perfectly with the viking ship, in other words, you can perfectly use the viking ship's midsections to make the Brickbeard bounty longer (or make the viking ship longer) and the color will be consistent.

Thank you, My sails are made of recycled paper (it already has that tan/brownish color), I have a notebook of it, I draw my sails on them and cut them out However I must say they are fragile, easey ripped in pieces. Still, it's easy and it doesn't take too much time.

Nicely done, as for the ship's type I think it classifies as a brig, which is generally defined as a two masted ship with square sails, the ship MOCs are indexed according to sail plan here at Classic Pirates. Yet, by the general shape of your ship it could indeed go for a Galleon if it had the third lateen rigged mast. Either way, don't worry about it too much, it's only terminology. The ship, whatever the type, looks nice and that's far more relevant . Overall shape looks good, a decorated stern. I would have liked to see the jib attached properly, the Imperial flagship is a very bad example for that matter . All Ship-moccers remember this term; a Sebeus' Intersector slyle brig

Oh yes, it's getting there, I really like it so far, I see you used the capstan bars like you suggested a while ago for my FD, I must say it looks very good on this ship. I'm not going to suggest a functional capstan In a ship of cb4's technique it would be very challenging I reckon and it would consume some interior details I wouldn't want to miss. There's something about the hull, the bow actually. I don't think there's anything wrong with the hull shape, not at all, I'd even say it's perfect. But the studs in front being orientated vertically while at the rest of the hull they are orientated under an angle is troubling for the eye, atleast for my eyes. Yet I see no better way to close the hull at the bow so fluently. ...So ignore my note and carry on .

You've kept this jewel WIP secret for that long? This is an impressive piece of ship so far. I could be wrong but the two lower gun decks each have one cannon port too much near the bow, Keep up the good work! By the way, Did you base her on the HMS Victory?

Welcome at Eurobricks, I hope to see some of your work soon .

It's a great Idea, When I started my series I also had this in mind and chose a sailor, carpenter and gunner for the main characters (Although they're not really the average of their kind since I used signature minifigures ). Anyway, I hope you find some time to make your own lego-illustrated story.

That's a pretty good criterium I think
-
I like that story, You have indeed improved the original design, I love the bow section, it adds a much better shape on top of the prefab hull . I'm amazed that you managed to get an interior in such small space. The sails look great as well, three courses of sails is much better than two. I'm glad to have been an inspirement. Now I hope those bluecoats don't intend to chase me down, now that they have a ship faster than the Zephyr I feel a whole less comfortable .

Great job, I love the stern, particulary the angled galleries, It's cool to see that those even fit with the cabin interior.

I have around 36 ships on my record (excluding the smaller boats and rafts), I have pictures of almost all of them except for my very first ships. I keep a record of them at mocpages. At the moment however I have 7 ships still intact, some of them I intend to never take apart. I'll get working on the tutorial again after the Pirate Team Contest .
-
These are very nice I particulary like these, for a render they look extremely appealing. I do hope you build atleast one of them in real bricks .
-
I think it's perfectly justified to leave your brig of war without a tumblehome, eventhough I reckon a historical ship a tumblehome anyway.
-
I like how you integrated a real tumblehome, a great improvement . Attaching the jibs with ropes was an evident call but very needed nonetheless. I do hope however that you will also modify the cabin of the Imperial Flagship, Unlike many others I really don't like the look of the IFS set, what I think is worst about it are the inverted slopes making the cabin wider when it gets higher, while on a realistic ship the cabin should become more narrow, following the tumblehome. Keep it up .

I love the christmas lights, the cart holding the wardrobe looks pretty nifty, well done.

Nicely done, great walls, it would be awesome if the door could also open but that's not really an issue. Nice christmas tree . -
Vengeur - First Rate Ship-of-the-Line on a Prefab Hull
Sebeus I replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Pirate MOCs
Nice, very nice, I really love the open side view. Quite impressing for your first post . Personally I think the ship should be wider, eventhough you managed to widen the prefab hull in an elegant manner it still is not wide enough. Keep it up!
