  1. ouhhh ... from the German review linked above the tested gear sequence: "1. Gang → 6. Gang → 7. Gang → 8. Gang → 5. Gang → 2. Gang → 3. Gang → 4. Gang." Translation : Gang = gear this sounds not promising if the builder has built it correctly.... @Didumos69, i already see your errata on the horizon ;)
  2. No... first the bugatti simply contains about 900 parts more and for that 50€ more is reasonable and second: in real life the chiron is another price-tag than the porsche 911GT3, so the lego equivalent should at least cost more too...
  3. I like the proportions of the lego model better than the shape of the real stuff ;)
  4. If the gearbox work at least out of the box cause of the down gearing Then this would be fine for me... imho not the best but nevertheless a valid approach to make a gearbox-layout working...
  5. For me the most interesting question is the biggest pitfall of the Porsche: does front suspension comes up again after pressing down? imho the Front suspension of the Porsche was way to Weak and/or has wrong geometry and so was a faulty engineering and a well done front suspension which is at least able to handle the weight of the car is a MUST have.... second is realiable gear switching and a pushable car also in gear 1... All other stuff is peanuts ... ;)
  6. Edit: removed by Jim
  7. Maybe this i just a fake pic..?! can't imagine a really functional fake set without Leaking all necessary info from within the inner circle of TLG some time ago..,,
  8. Gravity might not be an issue if a linkage driven by the horizontal rotation axle of the gear selector is used... there are a lot of possibilities Even without LAs or worm gears
  9. I disagree. For the key customer-group (who are not AFOLS) moving and well visible pistons are a key feature... realistic size is not the most Important criterium for a technic component like the car Engine - with the size argument you could rate down each component, especially the gearbox. Imho most important is, that one can see how the basic mechanism works... all mechanisms built with lego have much larger size than in reality.... and: for sure bugatti would have put in a veto against this big engine if this monstrum would be too ugly....
  10. Wait- 5 driving rings - but only 4 seems to be used within the gearbox.... so we get an additional foreward/neutral/Reverse selector as with the Porsche? Hopefully now not with 8 reverse gears ;) 4x4 is cool... So but overall the bugatti seems to be at least one level above the Porsche.....
  11. Yeah- maybe i will add this shifter into my porsche- IMHO best Solution until now- this Is the Porsche TLG should have been released- if they'ed no complains would have been arised...
  12. bought the BI just some minutes ago - thanks a lot for sharing them! great model, one of the best looking supercars i have ever seen - kudos!
  13. Same here... and for me a nifty and well designed and well working(!!) front suspension adds way more value to a car than some boring additional vylinders.. so keep the v6 and the outstanding combo 4-speed + gear dependend steering mode
  14. Same opinion here- a flawless working seq 4-speed box is enough... overall looks very promising / if there will be BI i will buy it dir sure...
  15. Thanks for these great BI - very well done! BTW: great MOC - seems to be the brother of good old 8455...
  16. better then the A-model - at least concerning functions.... one of the best B-models over the last few years...
  17. Very cool and funny video review...;-)
  18. I just day: Each MOC from you would be and would deserve to be an official set of TLG... the crane truck, the rubbish truck, this little and cute one - just awesome and fascinating building skills
  19. I just day: Each MOC from you would be and would deserve to be an official set of TLG... the crane truck, the rubbish truck, this little and cute one - just awesome and fascinating building skills
  20. It is a Problem because the crane can not slew properly... here is the solution: Have applied some other fixes to the BI ... but Overall this is an awesome model- highly recommended
  21. No, not for this particular video - but here is one in english which demonstrates ALL 5 models of this set:
  22. the 360-viewer works very well for me - Firefox on Windows 7... Excellent review, many thanks for your effort, Jim! Cool model, very well done by Milan.... if it would have a gearbox - even if a "simple" standard one - then it would be a real and true successor of good old 8466... Unimog wheels with yellow rims IMHO work best - a great alternative to the tracked stock version... I probably will get this set - but it's not a must NOW have so probabaly not now but sometimes later on when good discount is available - or even second hand used in very good condition...
  23. Yes, it is the combination of accessibilty and easyness of usage. If this combination is reasonable then all is fine and no need for HoG - agreed... but in each case i like to have a working usable console shifter rsp paddle-shifter - the HoG is then a nice to have or ev necessary add on for better playability if the Accessibility/usage is limited... but i do not want to occupy the thread about Pauls great and incredible well designed car with this discussion about the need or not need of console/HoG-shifters... pauls intention was to do something new and he has done this very well... so all is fine because a designer should always build what HE want and not what "Never satisfied" people like me want to have ;-)
  24. Hmm, i do not understand the final remark ("would not even bother including a HoG shifter if..."): why do people include HoG-steering-wheels? because the allow more easy accessible operation - same holds for gear shifting: regardless of having a console shifter it will always be a pain for a adults hand to operate gear shifting - at least for a non open-topped car - in case of a convertible i agree with you - no need for HoG-stuff neither steering nor shifting... but with current supercars with often closed roofs and small windscreens i really vote for HoG-stuff, even if there is a full working console-shifter... of course you have packad in quite enough ;-) - i already said (multiple times): awesome supercar And my remark about a console shifter has nothing to do with typical "never good enough"-complainings - it was more about wondering why to leave out one of the most important and realistic operation-levers a car could - or should i say "should"? - have... or with other words: if your model would also have a console-shifter than i would say it's the most awesome supercar ever born... but on the other side you and meatman are right: maybe we should stop always searching for the MOST awesome this-and-that - being awesome is really enough - and your car is really really awesome, period. PS: well, here comes a "never good enough"-thing: ...and Ackermann...
  25. thanks for fast reply Paul - maybe i have not expressed good enough what i had in mind... for me the best would be to have a working gearstick for switching gears + a DNR-shifter (maybe combined into one stick) PLUS a nifty HoG-shifter ... so the same principle as for steering: working "inhouse" operating stuff (the steering wheel rsp gearstickl) plus the HoG stuff...
