  1. Actually I am not sure. Haha. I dont think I ever photographed that. But it isnt too hard. I believe I changed the cab to 8 wide and fitted a half stud offset seat for the engineer and build a footplate for the fireman to stand on to shovel coal. Also I made the tender 8 wide. The coaches I made I do have pictures of. Just to show what an XL motor can pull on a very small oval of track. Its on my MOCpages.com account. I cant post a link as my phone is being difficult and will not let me paste a link. Just go to the site and search for Trevor Young. It should work. http://www.mocpages.com/folder.php/77066 there we go If you cant figure out how to do my edit, I may be able to build a small example showing the fix. But It may take a while. I dont have much time lately for Lego.
  2. Looking nice! And I see a monorail too!
  3. My EN used the XL motor. It was strong enough to pull 3 custom 8-wide coaches. The coaches were considerably longer and heavier than the coach that came with the set. I saw some loss of power around turns but overall it worked great. And with the PF, its easy to disconnect the loco and tender by disconnecting the battery. And I was still able to put an engineer and fireman in the cab, although no firebox detail. But a good sacrifice IMO. Hope that helps
  4. May I ask why you want to use only Lego parts?
  5. That sentence doesnt sound...right...haha. I probably just cant read today.
  6. This is beautiful. Amazing work.
  7. Thats good your throat is better. But I dont think anyone has submitted anything yet. But simple question. Sorry if this was answered already but I cant find it. When is the deadline for entires? Im just curious as lately I havent been in the Lego spirit. (More of the model railroading spirit to be honest. But its still trains. )
  8. Well if you are getting the rechargeable box, then you are looking at about 55 USD more than just the AAA box. (Taking into account the box is 50 USD and the charger is around 15-20 USD.) Sorry I dont have actual prices, Im not in the mood to go on Legos website. Ill start thinking about spending more money.
  9. You had me confused for a second before. Haha
  10. He said AAA battery box. Not rechargable. Youre correct the rechargeable has the wheel. Not the AAA box. That only has a switch. I have both types so I know.
  11. Yes it would go if you turned it on. But it would go full speed and probably derail in corners. The motor bogie is the same size as the 9V motor. If that helps...
  12. Im not one for diesels but this is amazing.
  13. Do you have any images of the problem?
  14. Very nice lights. I have one set of em and they are nice. Although I havent yet incorporated it into any train. I just dont like that there are 2 lights per strand. Would prefer one but..
  15. The IR receiver has the same dial as the remote. So you can choose which channel each receiver and remote are. Both remote and receiver are easy to change at any time. So no worries about calibrating anything.
  16. That sounds interesting. Would love to see a tutorial on them.
  17. I can see it now, a new branch of Lego train modelers, Lego in the Garden. Haha
  18. I agree with bjtpro, lets build! Haha
  19. I may (probably) am wrong but, I dont believe it started as a clone brand. It didnt really directly copy anything (as far as I know), But Lego kinda went their own way with the interlocking brick design. While I guess 'cloning' then is A LOT different than what it is today, where we see sometimes direct copying. But yeah I agree with bjtpro and Annie in that we should allow 'clone' elements in this contest/challenge. Sorry if I seem stupid in my "facts". Im probably wrong anyway, might as well get it all cleared up now.
  20. If its a custom decal, you could print them yourself. You can buy decal paper at some stores and just print on them.
  21. This sounds like its guna be a great challenge. How will it all be judged in the end?
  22. I meant like entirely wood. No Lego track at all. Itd be cool to see even an attempt at a wooden one.
  23. This is amazing. But a switch would probably be very hard to make.
