Hobbythom replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Saruman has got nothing on Ragna! Great tower, great build. Love the magenta! -

Hi Andrew, First of all.. you are one of my top five favourite builders ever. Piazza Maria and Rua Amarelo are amongst my favourite MOC's ever. Having said that.. I am just not feeling this one. I feel like in terms of scale, composition and design of the building you've nailed the northern European look quite well. It's the colour differences from floor to floor and the bright whites that's not doing it for me. Anyway.. just my 2 cents. Keep on building!

The designing process of the modulars can take more than a year, going through multiple iterations. Can you, as a main designer, build the set without instructions after constructing and deconstructing the set for such a long time?

I started building this yesterday and it is a great building experience. However, the quality of some of the parts just isnt up to standard: bright ejection marks on the geen triangular, flash and noticable colour difference on the white parts. Does anyone else have this experience aswell?

I absolutely love it. The colours, the details: it's all equally great. My only gripe is the inclusion of the torso of the ticketseller. That old spongebob torso needs to retire. It looks off on a regular minifigure.

This is an excellent build. Beautifull facade!

Awesome build. The shaping of it all is excellent and the use of colour very good aswel. Great inspiration this!

And here I was thinking I'd see a MOC of a mohntain scene with the metroliner running trough it. Boy was I wrong. Cool vid.

The tribal woman of course for the introduction of the first ever legobaby. That elf is just a yellow Legolas with a decent haircut.

I'm rather disappointed with fatb aswell. Can't believe the inflatable duck from the batman cmf isn't included. Such a great piece...with huge batmask on it. Really deserved a 'clean' version.

Nice build! The angling of the facade is very pleasing to the eye. The signage with the paw print is a great touch. Good luck in the competition!

I supported your model! I have actually been on this tram a few years back when visiting Trieste!

Can anyone figure out how the photo printer is constructed?

I have mixed feelings about this one. I really like the density of the features, all the small buisynesses represented, the new parts and the irregular shape. I am just not a really big fan of the buildings themselves. The tribute to the previous modulars makes it feel a bit to familiar in terms of looks and colors. (the florist shop is the prime example). And for some reason I am not to keen on the upper floors of the bakery. Just feels a bit off. Nevertheless, since my modulars never stay assembled for long, a day one purchase for sure!
