  1. Most of you probably remember when Lego did alternate builds on the back of boxes in a lot of themes between the 90s and mid 2000s. A lot of these were very bizarre, but which stick out to you as exceptionally weird? All themes welcome
  2. We all love Lego mechs and we all love characters in massive suits of armour,so I am creating this thread where you can post your own Lego mech creations of marvel or DC characters. These can be your own versions of existing mechs or ones you made yourself In here you can -suggest a mech idea -post a link or picture -suggest a certain part that will look good on the character Have Fun!
  3. Make and share your LDD (Lego Digital Designer) Projects.
  4. I'm Tom Alphin, author of The LEGO Architect book. For the past 6 months, I've been working on a new in-depth guide exploring LEGO Storage topics. I'm pleased to announce that my LEGO Storage Guide is ready for people to enjoy (and give feedback.) The guide is extensive, with 10 chapters and around 50 pages of free content: Section I: Organizing, Sorting, & Storing LEGO Bricks — The guide walks you through the process of understanding your LEGO collection, exploring different ways to organize your collection, great storage solutions for a LEGO collection of any size, and additional tips and tricks. Section II: Displaying & Storing LEGO Minifigures — This section explores some of the best ways to show off and protect your favorite LEGO minifigures. The guide is informed by detailed surveys of around 200 LEGO enthusiasts. The data analysis helped me prepare LEGO storage recommendations based on the size of your collection and other factors. The guide is well researched... It contains results from a detailed LEGO Storage survey with about 200 responses, learnings from interviews with top LEGO builders from around the world, and recommendations based on numerous articles, books, and forum discussions on eurobricks.com website. LINK: http://brickarchitect.com/guide/ I hope you enjoy reading the guide, and I can't wait to hear your feedback! I will continue improving the guide in the coming weeks, and am tracking your suggestions for future improvements in the acknowledgements section. Sincerely, ---tom P.S. I'm eager to hear - what's your favorite LEGO storage product?

  6. NOTE: I have no plans on building this IRL for now, it was just for fun to pass the time. If you want the original Star wars version, see here. This model is a combination of the best parts of sets 8095 and 7565 (both of the sets mentioned are called General Grievous’ Starfighter.) but rendered in orange and white for the Neo Nexus Force. As such, this logo here goes on the nose of the craft. Background info: The ship's name in the Star Wars universe is the "Soulless One", and is General Grievous’ personal vessel in Episode 3 and both the Clone Wars cartoon and mini-series until his death at the hands of a Obi Wan Kenobi, who then "borrowed" the ship and later abandoned it. The ship was later found on a junkyard asteroid by Neo Nexus Force leader Bob, who gave a new paint job to the vessel and rechristened it "Creative One". It serves as Bob's private space vessel when on solo missions and also when the star cruisers Bright Hope and Bright Future are not needed. The ship features a slide open cockpit, which comes with a flight computer. The ship defends itself with four laser cannons mounted near the front by the wings, two per side. I heavily modified the tail, wings, and underside to attach better to the rest of the ship. Also, in case anyone is wondering, the wings and mostly from set 7565 while 98% of the body is from set 8095. The Bob figure is included with the space ship in the LDD file, which is available here. Comments, questions and complaints are always welcome!
  7. I've seen numerous builders who have a unique body of original work and I was wondering where you guys get inspiration from. I've noticed most of them are Castle and Sci-Fi based however is there anything specific that inspires your MOC's? At the end of 2016 I was reviewing my LEGO creation’s and I noticed the lack of innovative and original ideas, most of them are recreations and explorations of existing intellectual properties. Feedback and criticism is much appreciated. My LEGO Creation’s - www.flickr.com/photos/adeelzubair/albums/72157645785522606
  8. I'm Chris! I have the great pleasure of owning a shop (Brick Barn) on the tiny island of Prince Edward in Canada. In my shop I have a Lego Collection. It began innocently enough one day in 1985 when I received my first Lego set 6061 Siege Tower. Then I received some town sets, and some classic space and then more town. Oh, and then there was that whole Pirates thing in 1989! I loved Lego. I loved creating whole realms with it. Minutes became hours. Hours became days. Homework was forgotten. But then one day, I was told I had to leave home (gasp) and get a job and a career and make money to pay my own way through life. So I did. Lego was forgotten for a time. It was the dark days (years). Then I opened my eyes one day and saw Lego had released 10030! Drool. So I bought it. Built it. And suddenly I remembered the good ol days. One purchase lead to another and another. Before I knew it, I had 600 sets, 350,000 bricks all neatly sorted into 100 25L tubs and 400 2L bins. So I built a shop. I quit my job. Quit my career. And I went to work spreading the joy of creative building to a new generation of collectors! So with this time to truly enjoy building Lego projects again, I hope to share some of my MOCs here and elsewhere. I look forward to this new journey.
  9. I reckon I've come up with a new building technique using a 30134 - Staircase 7x4x6 as rafters. I apologise in advance if this technique has been posted before. The advantages of using a 30134 - Staircase 7x4x6 piece in this context is allowing the roof to be structurally stronger and they also represent the wooden rafters that go diagonally across a typical roof.
