  1. That's such a classic cobblestone pattern and you've represented it very convincingly - the small offsets and the twisted tiles are just the job. The gaps at the ends are a bit dicey, but you win some & you lose some. Nice work, cubo!
  2. Very nice I like the fuel tanks and the SNOT construction of the sleeping area. Glad you built the bonnet to swing up away from the engine. The whole assembly with the trailers looks great, too.
  3. They look a lot smoother now, nice work!
  4. Exactly: TLG won't release a church as part of the city line, nor would they release a generic tank & soldiers set, since those go against their guidelines. But if a religious / military topic is relevant for a pop-cultural or architectural reason? Fair game. We've got the Taj Mahal, St. Mark's, clone troopers, even Nazis in the Indiana Jones line. There's nothing stopping TLG from producing a "regular" Architecture set featuring a church.
  5. It's a decent interpretation of the original building, but I think it would be improved if the tower went deeper into the building. At present, it looks like you decided there had to be a tower and didn't consider how the original looks. Also, the "7" would be much smoother if you used some of these and their corresponding "normal" slopes: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2449#T=C All that aside, it's a nice MOC with a good classic LEGO city feel, so you've done very well. Plus those 8x16 tiles on the roof are smoooooooooth!
  6. Gold & dark green is a wonderful colour scheme. It's a charming model that reminds me of going to steam fairs as a child . Your solution for the rear wheels of the traction engine is convincing yet conservative in the number of parts, so good job there . I see you included the classic chain steering mechanism. Is it possible to steer from the cab, or is one limited to directly pivoting the front axle? If you had a steering wheel built into the cab, that would be a great play feature.
  7. Welcome to Eurobricks, Dump! I've seen your posts in the LDD forum and I'm glad you've experienced the help of the little community in there. I am a fan of the software, too; I find it quite handy. Enjoy yourself here, and happy building.
  8. ~Stargate goes medieval~ The way you arranged the tentacles and teeth gives the portal a wonderful kinetic appearance. Nice work.
  9. That's lovely! I love the gold details on the capitals, and the colourful pediment. The varied ways you've textured the ceiling also make it interesting. Well done.
  10. Hi everyone! Pembroke College, founded in 1624 is one of the colleges of the University of Oxford. In terms of architecture, it's fairly average in the city of the dreaming spires, but I have a lot of happy memories in this place. This is actually only about half of the college! There is a row of houses and a gated-off street immediately to the north, and a new build across a bridge to the south, but that would have made the whole thing too wonky for my liking. Did you know that Professor X went to Pembroke? Compare the view above with this panel from Uncanny X-Men #389. From above you can see better the geometry involved in this project. In all it took me around 45 hours, not counting rendering time. I used Bluerender. Thanks for looking!
  11. May I join in the fun, please?
  12. Looks decent! To be honest I was a bit leery of this project earlier on, from reading the first page of this thread and so on, but you've turned out something very good. I like the render!
  13. I recall there used to be a means to preview posts and, in light of a post I've made where I messed up the formatting dreadfully, I'd like to know if that is still supported.
  14. It is a shame, isn't it. We just have to make do with what we have.
  15. Hello, new moderator! I like to make my projects using bricks in existing colourways and it's generally worked so far... I know that Standard Mode doesn't offer all bricks as they exist, but I feel that Extended Mode offers too much freedom in that regard, particularly because I am not sufficiently au fait with TLG's constantly changing menu of pieces to know what I can and cannot use. But if Standard Mode is missing fundamental pieces like turntables, it's a no-brainer.
  16. I vote for #2 and #5; love those ruby bliels.
  17. Or brickshelf, which is a bit more straightforward if you can resize the images by yourself.
  18. I'm not having any issues; it's slow-ish but not any slower than the rest of the web on my connection. I've got 57Mbps download and I'm running Firefox Quantum (version 60.0.2). How about you?
  19. mopc, these are charming. It's a great idea to build three separate rear ends for the red car - I think the fastback is the best version. Out of all the cars, though, the minivan appeals to me most. I see in most of the cars, you've left a 1-stud gap so that the doors can open. Are you going for playability or for good looks? If I had built these, I'd have closed the gaps. Considering the large scale of these models, would they be better suited to the Special LEGO Themes forum?
  20. OK; thank you for your responses. I'll make sure to work in Extended Mode now.
  21. This is making me feel thoroughly useless but I've tried my best to find the 2x2 turntable (in any colour) in LDD: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3680c02#T=P but I'm not having any luck. I've tried "turntable", "2x2" and "3680" as search terms in LDD and I've turned up nothing. Does anyone know where to find it?
  22. It's a good-looking car, well photographed. You've got the feel of the thing just right, even though it doesn't look exactly the same as the movie car (but that's a tall order given the small size, isn't it?). As others have mentioned, your cobbled street is a great setting to put the car in. The car just pops
  23. Perhaps it's electrical tape? Or they might have a prototype mold somwhere that made legs without holes.
  24. Как прекрасно! I love that you included the swimming pool, but it looks slightly awkward sunk into the ground. My single other recommendation is to improve the curved class wall: Perhaps replace the 2x2 light grey plate with a dark blue 2x2 round plate so that there is less of a colour contrast. Also, I would turn the 2x2 round plate near the roof to dark blue instead of light grey; at present, that part of the roof looks too thick when compared to the original hotel. Nice work and thanks for sharing!
