I thought that was how it worked already with the first one, I had no idea that the time of posting made a difference. I was also under the impression that if one company scored 30, another scored 40 in the same week timeframe, then neither would have control. Can you clarify this? With the second, do you mean the difference between two companies is 0, or a company has 0 outright on a planet? The final vote is the most interesting IMO. It could be very cutthroat to be able to sabotage a strategy anywhere along the chain. This is fascinating tactically, but it might be more akin to a board game where a loss is over in an hour than a team building game where it's possible to get very emotionally invested. I haven't decided yet what I'll vote, but I'm swaying towards "no" as I think it could occasionally upset people, but the tactician in me wants to vote "yes".

I like the way the yellow makes it seem to glow, this is a good quality build.

[Challenge 1] Razorback Weel of the northern islands of Traig IV

Love it, it looks very otherworldly! -
Only credits you earn count for that, so Narb will remain CEO unless someone catches up the 200 credits he got at the start. Even though right now you've got more :) 98 credits to Narbilu

Edit: I think Orenji will be making a transfer so this one can wait. Plus my maths is awful.

Thanks for the explanation of what happened Rodiziorobs, it did look confusing from outside. Wasn't sure if there was some judicial bribing going on -

Exactly, that's the Kawashita spirit. Honour above everything, even in death. -
It's a suggestion to prevent you having a headache in 2 weeks when Octan have surrounded B02. It will give Kawashita the opportunity to hold up Octan as we deal with G10, as we will not be at arms with each other. The trade is basically that we will combat Octan now, and you can combat them in 2-3 weeks. Otherwise our teams will cripple each other as Octan sweeps the right side of the map. It's not an unreasonable suggestion :)

AG - Introduction and Discussion

Currently scoring is done by rounded averages between the three judges, who have their own personal rating systems. I've already suggested credits could be given by unrounded averages (e.g. 4.333 gets 43 credits). A more prescriptive system would be nice, sometimes there really isn't much separating a 3 from a 4 or a 4 from a 5. That said, we shouldn't expect the judges to increase their workload by adding more details - not unless you want 1 judge assigned per build. On the tactics; team members are definitely going to have to come to terms with being on a losing team. Only one team will be in the lead at any given time and there's no catchup system if one team is smaller. I enjoy thinking tactically, but it absolutely has to be second priority behind giving members opportunities for fun builds. To change topic a bit, it's interesting that the bribe bags have adversely affected Kawashita, as we're on a collision course. While Octan are going to surround 2 of the rare resources at the current rate without being affected at all. Individually the bribe bags sounded nice, but as a team the weekly 20 domination point advantage might have proven to be overpowered - MANTIS were not 60 points behind when they were introduced! This plus the bonus to credits has made Kawashita the underdog, especially as both other companies have headed to our side of the map. It all would have been fine if MANTIS had just gone clockwise like every other team I'm interested if any other balancing mechanics will be introduced later. -
Watch all these Octan shills rushing in to stir distrust. The offer is genuine :) Alternatively, we can prevent you guys getting it this week and when your bribe bags run out we'll be working to slowly overpower it and claim it for ourselves. It should be obvious that this will give Octan a massive advantage, and as they're the strongest company, we should be working against them together.

I don't know if you MANTIS people have noticed, but while you've been beelining towards Guinevere at full force, Octan are planning on encircling Freegate and blocking you out of there. Is there any chance of organising a ceasefire on Guinevere so that Octan don't block off both of the other special resource planets?

Cool, I spy a nice use of an old alien armour piece. I have a couple of those, I might have to try them out in my own builds!

Nice to have you onboard, Blackhawk!

This is a great little build. The detailing on your vehicle works really well.

Awesome! I've been thinking there's some great opportunities for microscale in this game, glad to see you're the one to get started with it. Looks great to me Only critique, since you asked, would be to make the guns on the ship a little smaller. Could have used binoculars alone. It's not like we're in much direct conflict, yet! -
This is ace! May you serve Kawashita well.

Please mark this as an alien build! I tried to also make it qualify for my "exploration" bonus. The target is A05. Kawashita Orinishi HQ "Our probe is on course for passover on Yallorn II." "I bet I can get it in closer. Give me manual control!" "As you command, sir..." 30 seconds later... "Catastrophic error! Probe has crash landed! Definitely a software error!" "Sir, look at this. There appears to be life nearby the landing site." "Interesting, it appears to be some kind of giant cuddly toy... Being ridden by an insectoid..." Insectoids refer to their mounts as "Padds", because when they walk that's the noise their feet make! "Ew, it is drooling all over our probe! Perhaps we can analyse the minerals in its saliva?" This seems oddly successful for a Sal experiment! No-one died, no equipment smashed, and the stolen Kawashita goody did not explode!

This is cool. I'm trying to work out the tree - are those horn/tooth pieces in white holding it together? It works great!
