    Congrats to all semifinalists! And thanks for the “leak” because it seems this information wasn´t worth it yet to be published on the contest website. The judges have a really tough job, I don´t envy them. I´m following the contest with great interest - a lot of inspiring models! IMHO these nice looking entries (that was not the main criterion of the contest) who did not qualify, but have my compassion, deserve to be mentioned and it just speaks for the overall high quality of this contest:

    Fantastic job! Very interesting gearbox and mechanisms around it, amazing amount of details which show your true fascination both for Technic and for that particular racecar! Perfect use of the Tumbler tires. I like your "beams over flexaxles" very much ! I don´t like so much the busy look of the roof, gaps around all the window parts, rubber pieces at the doors and rubber band supporting the front axle. But anyway I can see some sort of consistency trying not to compomise your original ideas and that´s a great result! This model has the most ambitious overall package including pneumatics, parts mix, amount of functions and most important - a lot of sweat and tears must have gone into this build! Good luck for the "race" !

    Great Porsche from you again! I have thought you might enter with your 964 which wasn´t bad as well. Of course I know that you prefer sturdy and rigid connections, but one little thing that bothers me a bit - the characteristic Porsche roofline should be sloping towards the rear at the B-pillar... Anyway everything compact, clean and well designed as usually !

    I wouldn´t buy anymore a USC Technic model if they´ll throw again something parenthetical "just on the top of everything else" on the market for such price. With only one exception: if it would be a Ferrari F40 which by the way was built for 40th jubilee of the company. I´m sure they have recognized how important the supercar theme is for us crazy AFOLs who have grown up with 8880 and hopefully won´t disappoint us again.

    Thank you Lucio for explaining that in such honest way! Indeed you are lucky thank God and I wish you and your family all the best for the coming weeks! Sure he does. He is involved in many sales on this website: http://mocplans.com/ . He is generous too, because he still does a lot of free work and helps many people to promote their work and add the value to their MOCs. Since such joint-venture is about sharing money with designers he won´t offer any discount on anything ever. If somebody prefers glory and honour instead of money as reward for all efforts - it´s great, hats off! On the other hand I have experienced that there are not many people even willing to say "Thanks" because in our times something that doesn´t cost has no value or is suspected to be a marketing hook. And by the way - your instructions prices are far too low in my very humble opinion!

    One of your best looking MOCs for sure! It shows that you still have some dreams and visions and never run out of ideas . Must have been an incredible amount of effort to gather all tan colored parts. The offroad performance isn´t as satisfying though I think, if to compare it to some of your tanks e.g. , but it clearly wasn´t your priority. Maybe it´s worth to make an alternative no-PF chassis / cockpit for display since I believe you will keep it.

    Nice to see the result of your honest work! This looks like a Porsche with characteristic proportions, especially the roof line is perfect ! How does it come that some of the greatest models in the contest don´t use any gearbox? I usually don´t miss them, but it´s kind of strange. Will nobody ever build some after the 42056 masterpiece ?

    That´s the problem which I see immediately! Somebody has no money - so what - go and try to get it anyway. Or go and steal it, better - sell it to others for "discount". ONE is not enough, there should be HUNDREDS /THOUSANDS! Such people ruin the creative energy of some of the artists who are putting a lot of effort to offer quality products to sincere people. Respect for (intellectual) property is beeing extremely violated nowadays. Such discussions have been hold regularly on this forum and I hope it speaks to some people´s conscience. I just can´t immagine to build "cheaply" some other´s MOC having illegaly saved some money on instructions - must be a great feeling...

    Congrats to this superb mining truck, I love it ! The renders on your website are awesome! LegoWorld will be just amazing this year, I really hope to visit it. I know that you have tried and I´ve still not lost hope that you´ll bring out a supercar some day (maybe it´s only Lipko and me ;-) )

    It´s a bit ironic that students have to afford the most expensive sets such as NXT. People who are interested in Technic, but have little budget, earn my deepest compassion. I´m also not an AFOL with the largest pockets. Sometimes I´m buying instructions from the best builders only to have them in my library and to learn something. And to show some respect to them! I don´t think you really understand and I´m curious if Blakbird is even willing to comment on this. Your question sounds bold and silly! If you cannot afford the parts – why do you need all those instructions? There are dozens and dozens of instructions from the best builders (Madoca e.g.) on rebrickable *FREE OF CHARGE*! Are you seriously asking for discount on 200/1000/2000 – like bulk discount in industry?? Maybe you´ll even find something satisfying your needs out there in “darknet” – good luck! I´ve heard some of these pirates are also members here on EB – shame on them forever!

    Don´t listen to the flattery, my friend - just do what you feel is right ! The roof does ressemble more a VW Beetle as it is now. IMO the decline of the roof line was better in your previously posted pictures (24. July).

    Nice model, thanks for sharing! I like the originality of your car and the connection to history to learn something about the real car as well . I share this feeling every time when I see such great entries and when some contest is beeing closed ... There are some really great entries on rebrick that weren´t presented here on EB. I´m wondering about the "true" criteria, the winners will show. Because the ones stated on the site sound quite spongy and leave much room for personal preferences: Overall coolness and originality (25%) Most inspired details and functions on the model (25%) Understanding of the Porsche brand design and competition theme (25%) Overall LEGO Technic look and feel of the model (25%) Will this contest derive any ideas for TC10?

    It definitely looks like a Porsche and you have kind of customized it for your needs – it´s fine and of course you don´t have to apologize for anything! Like you said – it is as it is. You´ve captured the lines very well, hats off if without blueprints, I can´t barely see anything disproportional. If the unique DBG bodywork color was a prioritized feature – good job. But if you want to highlight it by saying “panelless” – well, it´s unique if left alone, but not desirable at all. IMO the use of panels instead of beams is appreciated far more than the other way round. Doesn´t add much to character I think, simply because Technic Panels in DBG almost don´t exist with a few exceptions: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=2&pg=1&catXrefLevel=0&colorPart=85&catType=P&catID=154 . I think if you would have chosen black as main color, you could have avoided many problems. In general people don´t like beams over flex axles and beam stacking. Especially the doors are breaking the car´s lines literally. The roof could have some rounder shape which would harmonize the whole characteristic appearance of a Porsche. The bottom picture looks like filled with nice mechanics. But the use of rubber bands to support some fancy incline of the front axle is quite strange for my taste. Anyway, I love the rear end with its characteristic light bar! Spare the “hot rod style” hole, forgive me ... The use of the big round system panels at the rear arches is fantastic and make the 42056 look poor even with its new panels. Hopefully you will use the experience and try again to build something like this. You are a great artist and I love your stuff, especially the car paintings !

    You have done some justice to this supercar of which LeMans prototype Typ 980 unfortunately didn´t make it into the competition. I must say I like it way more than F. Hartley´s version (which I like very much too). Here we can see again how you can turn a handful of pieces cleverly into any car of your dreams! The builder´s skills have been improving to the next step – it´s clearly visible. A number of eye-pleasing details come together here which make the car just look right and distinguish this masterpiece from an average MOC. Who cares it´s red color and no gearbox. Everything seems to look like an “easy job” (it isn´t) – classy, solid, rigid, proportional, a decent and not intrusive color scheme. V10 engine is neat because not using the usual oversized cylinders. Adjustable rear spoiler is a cool feature. IMO the very best part are the headlights with short flex axles – an instantly recognizable face! I love the way how the front arches and hood are made – usually it´s a big problem due to wheels and suspension offset on flat supercars. Then the slight incline of the main body line. The dashboard is so clean and fits perfectly. Rear arches and side mirrors are not perfect, but who cares. Honestly, I didn´t like the “stairs” around flex axles in your previous models. Here you have used it again, but found overall better solutions. Some bottom and side view picture would be nice to see.

    Thanks anyway for the challenging question! I like your open minded approach to everything. I´m also trying to think outside the box and experience something new where as many components as possible can be put together . Joint-venture kind of work can be very motivating - thanks to the community ! A friend was willing to pay me something for a 2.0 version´s exclusivity (not compensate hours of work) and that´s all. Honour should go to him. It´s not professional at all! I don´t know many professionals out there (Sariel, .....). And I´m not Master MOCer in TLCB sense, at least I don´t know about it. If somebody wants to be jealous - positive too, go to your workbench ...

    You know it's not true if left alone. That would be the wrong motivation at first place. But it gives some additional value and accuracy to your finish if you think about fans and collectors - it's more about responsibility to those who want build my models. Nothing wrong with that. Otherwise I have invested too much time into it.

    Your gearbox is very nice regarding the great concept behind it! Now just apply it into your MOC, make it work under heavy load and - important - change gears in ms using a single servo! Not as easy, I think. A simple 2- speed is realistic IMO, but nothing special nowadays. A more complicated 4 / 6 / 8 - speed working (!) transmission with XL or RC motors sounds much better IMO, even it could be too ambitious.

    Thanks, buddy! As stated in the beginning it´s not possible because of the agreement. Besides this the car has many shortcomings, flaws and some "questionable / illegal techniques" are used which don´t need to be discussed here in detail. The model has been designed according to specific custom requirements and priorities which are not desirable for an average builder / user. I bet reverse engineering is not possible from the pictures ! There is some hope anyway. A black Spider version scaled 1/8 would be nice as well, hmm?? Maybe I should skip some projects next year and just do what I love doing... Don´t you guys have enough of gearboxes out there ? I have played around a lot with gearboxes recently but would consider a gearbox in a motorized model only if the car behaves more like a real car at speed changes. I just don´t want to see acceleration abruptly stopping while changing gears. We will see what is possible with some advanced double clutches design - a very challenging task, especially with motors.
