  4. Agreed. The issue here, Lind, is that you did not note in anywhere on your enemy. But ranged enemies are not impossible and not unfair.

  9. I've had an idea for a villain who knows about the relic and captures a hero and mutilates them daily because they know they'll heal for a long time now. Just haven't had the chance to include them yet.

We either head to the port and let this chap suffer for the night, or we head back to the library and see if we can't find if his lovely wife is still around. What say I head back, find his wife, calm her down and then Rex and I meet you and Eric at the resort in the morning?"
  12. Bobby switches to his twin sai from the front row, continuing his attack and focusing it entirely on the Cow Orc. "Sorry about this, breh." He glances over his shoulder at the rest of the party. "How's everyone else rolling? Doing aight?"
  13. "Never fear, my friend. You're in good hands. I've talked myself out of more than one sticky situation, and I don't even have the handsome mug you do. I'm certain your lady will come around."
  14. Boomingham claps Rex on the back. "You seem like a decent chap. I was always having troubles with my own wife, and like my fellow heroes said, we folks gotta stick together. We'd be glad to help. And if not, I'd be more than happy to at least share a drink with you and listen to your woes. Seems the right thing for us sellswords to do."   15. Sir Abel inhales deeply. "I do not doubt you. Bella stood for none of the things the Order should stand for. But she was my commander. And what is honor and loyalty without... I am not Ennoc. It matters not what I think the Order should stand for. The Light has a way. When we join this Order, we make a pledge to serve. We also swear to protect the lives of our fellow brothers and sisters of the light, and to avenge them should they fall. Samuel, you swore this same pledge." "And what would happen if I let you leave this room now? More of my brothers and sisters, simply standing by their word, would fall to your swords. Isn't that the truth?" Abel glances at Pretzel on the floor. "He truly was poisoned. You may get an herb for him, Samuel. I will not prevent that, at least." Abel has not lowered his sword, but he has not attacked yet.
  16. "I'm about the same way. Only the blood of real nasty folks on my blade." Boomingham offers his hand. "Good to meet you, chap. We're a band of heroes for hire, though some less educated folks might go ahead and call us mercenaries as well. How long have you been in this city? Are you on business, pleasure, or just returned to home camp?"
  17. "Always troubles with the women," chuckles Boomingham as he overhears the were-rhino. "How's it going, chappo? My names Lawrence T. Boomingham, who might you be? A fellow lady-killer?"
  18. "Abel, come here, man." Abel walks over swiftly... and he freezes when he sees the heroes and draws his sword. "These are the prisoners, Samuel! What is the meaning of this." He pauses. "Traitor, are you?" Meanwhile, Avery does not emerge from the shadows.

  20. Boomingham remains silent as the two other men discuss family. He considers offering his own history, but the Lucustoids start talking too, and he glances at them confused for a few minutes before he finally pieces back together where he knows them from. "Ah, you chaps are from that quest with Bluehood. Didn't know that you ran the library round these parts." He bows to them. "Glad to help you find the key. Knowledge is often difficult to get at, in my experience. Bit of a metaphor, this. With the lost key and all. And as my fellow heroes said, we're on our way to the beach anyway."
  21. "I know him well. I know he is reasonable, I know that he is loyal to the cause, and I know he disliked Bella. But I cannot tell you what he will do. How can you know with certainty the secrets of another man's heart? I just don't want to see him hurt if it can be helped. As for sending him off with soldiers... he would listen to me, surely, but I don't know if we will run into him again later, and if we were to run into him in front of his troops he would have no choice but to fight." Raising his voice: "A fierce and noble fighter. She has saved my life times over. I owe it to her to cure her." "Do you know the type of poison? I have worked for many hours tending to this garden since our arrival to this wretched place. Perhaps I can assist." "I know not the type of poison, just that it is lethal." Samuel turns to Pretzel. "It is your call, heroes." Then he takes his tunic and wipes the side of Pretzel's mouth. "You are drooling. Are you sure the poison is not affecting you?"
  22. "My wife always told me I was drinking it away, but I do have a brain in this head of mine." Boomingham taps his temple with his index finger. "My father had me with tutors from a very young age. I was taught to read and write, and I've been doing both since then. One of the perks of growing up a prince."
  23. Avery looks at Kiray blankly before slipping into the shadows. "He disagreed with almost all of Bella's policies, but he is part of the Order. I cannot tell you for certain. I can promise you, however, that he is a good man. I am still new at scroll casting. I'd need to get him closer." And then, raising his voice: "There has been an attack. I don't know by who, or what damage has been done. This soldier has been poisoned, and I must get medicine for her." He lowers his voice again. "That's the best I could think of at the moment." "Who has been injured? How great are the enemies' numbers?" He lowers his helmet over his face. "Shall I gather my men?"
  24. OoC: Apologies... I could swear that you made a post about going to the souk, I'm also headed to the Grand Library. Boomingham sets off down the street, heading for the Grand Library. It takes him a block or two to realize that Eric and Sarge are walking only a few paces behind him. Boomingham begins to chuckle. "Guess that's what I get for assuming," he says as he falls back into pace with his companions. "Didn't take you for book lovers."
  25. Bobby shrugs sadly. "Yeah, you know, dude, we can fight if you want to fight, know what I mean. I don't dig it, but we can't have you messing with these dudes, yo. They're just trying to live life."
