  1. For a starter myself, 8110(€162) and 9398(€159) serve me well! I ordered parts from bricklink to mod both of them and it the addiction price have exceeded my 2 sets investment (must really work your sum and part lists before ordering). I'd prefer to buy sets of the same scale or closed to one another. I've been pondering to get 8043(€183) or 42006.
  2. The controller is faulty! The left side (red marking control stick) for moving forward and reverse is not working. The blue control stick for turning the 40T black gear is working.
  3. The V2 Receiver has 2 ports. The blue tile port connection is faulty?
  4. Anything can be copied and made in China at great speed and also a choice of most manufacturers to get their products done at lower cost. With many factories and and technology buildup in China, the possibilities are abundance with demand. From toys, fashion, iphone and even food can be made real before your eyes. With social platform and information spreading around, it's the consumer's choice. Everyone is buying a hope, own something not within their reach and sometime risking their life...
  5. Welcome! Guess your questions are not direct and informative: Tires=wheels not moving at all could due to: - connection error (check the if all connections are plugged in as instructed, the orange and the blue tiles?) - check the receiving channel on the controller and IR? - check the batteries indicator lights (green led) - and due to the gear construction, you will not be able to push drive the crawler. It can only be move by motor powered by batteries. How to rechange the batteries when flat? Or you are looking to recharge the batteries? - seem like you didn't tried putting in the batts yourself? The battery box need 6 x AA batteries to work. (Please also check if you inserted 3 x AAA size batt to the controller.
  6. Nice video! Love the Unimog wheels and the truck bed!
  7. Very realistic! I like the implemented functions and build finishing!
  8. Seem like the competition has not ended... Posted on 1 Jan 2013: http://technic.us.lego.com/en-us/Creations/Details/Default.aspx?projectid=69c9578c-fb7e-45bf-b7fa-b574ae00fd70&sort=latest&index=2
  9. I'm also clueless at times when comes to getting parts in Bricklink. I always go with new pieces but they do look different at times in terms of the "birth marks". (Some deep, some nearly flush). Some even have stretch marks with 0.2-1mm dots. Number code changes but Lego markings are usually sharp and clear. Here's a few topics I've found: http://cache.lego.com/r/aboutus/-/media/About%20Us/Media%20Assets%20Library/Brochures/ts.20120110T175802.FairPlayBrochure.pdf http://www.aim.be/Documents/Misc/lego_aware.pdf http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=66642
  10. Anyone encountered the wheels stopped spinning with a "wheeeee" sound coming from the motors when the crawler got stucked? Will this situation cause any damage?
  11. Lovely Orange Truck Video. Matches Unimog really well!
  12. Yes! Technic is missing a dump truck with possible functions like RC, remote tilting bed and lighting features. Just wondering why there's no mentioning about the scale of all technic...Probably due to confusion between age recommendation.
  13. Sorry rm8, what meant was your build among the modernise submissions in the competition. Most of us should be able to recall the muscle car in 2fast2furious that won some races too. I'm from the 70's : )
  14. rm88 "The Boss" has followed the criterial rather closely: • Overall coolness (a muscle car) • Inspired design details (did his homework with images) • Design that people will purchase (why not) • A great colour scheme (4 great colour variants-limited edition) • Buildable using existing LEGO Technic elements (Looking good) • Well thought out functions (intro PF lights and Winch) • The relationship between your age and your design (old-school)
  15. Started my first technic 8110 before 9398. Look at my avatar for answer.
  16. I like this truck very much! It's cute, powerful and sturdy. The sound from the motor as though turbo spooling when it climbed over your finger~Cool! Overall score much much better than 9398 with those 3rd party tires. Will be glad to build one too!
  17. Nice! Prefer the ski landing.
  18. Totally Agreed! Since young (in the 80's), my parents couldn't afford to spoil us with Lego. I've this childhood encounter that I never forget my whole life when comes to toy. Every year, my parents will give us a budget of about US$40 to buy our favourite toy at Toys R Us. I happily picked-up 6921 thinking it was a complete set of the Space Trak Monorail. Nobody knows how miserable or happy I were but I actually played with the tracks and stands with my other toys for years and never request to get the complete set when I found out about 6990 ; )
  19. Cool! Hmm.. I wasn't aware that Lego is popular in China but seem like you are having good moc creation here.
  20. Nice white rally 8110! I do have the intention to swop the orange to white panels to match my 9398. Good inspiration! Wow, the black 8110 in your avatar looks good! Are you from Hong Kong? Why not combine all your moc collections in I topic?
  21. I actually missed-out my recent purchased of 9391 mini crane for the parts moc on my 9398. But withdrawed the idea for this attachment as the competition is closing. My lifetime partner has been supportive enough to ask me what I wanted for Lego but I rejected her goodwill as I never wanted her to know how much they cost. Yes, she was surprised when she realised how costly 8110 was during one of our visit to Lego store...as usual...
  22. Welcome : ) Looking forward for nicely taken images.
