    8110 was my first Lego investment after more than 30 years. It took me 14-15hrs within the next 3 days to complete. Time wasted figuring out my errors on the front chassis...

    I did it once (1) through visuals research (not lego samples). (2) refer to my available parts (mostly technic) and hands-on shaping the exterior for hours ("Eat, Sleep, Technic" syndrome). (3) Starts to order parts from bricklink and complete it with further modifcations (so long there're studs and joints to matchup, anything can take shape). (4) I left the pneumatic setup at the last stage. I do not have the luxury to own many sets and getting parts can be very taxing and never enough. Always thought I should have ordered more... Nevertheless, I'm still very impress and inspire by many MOCing fans in EB!

    Welcome koen claeys! I decided to shift the front suspension 1 stud backward to solve this issue. Since the unimog is front heavy, you'll realise a slight bend on the suspension when you lift the cab up.

    I guess the hydraulic(Chrome) retract back into the hydraulic cylinders(Red) and the hydraulic cylinders(Red) fold together with the lower arm legs (Grey) parallel with the platform? There's a rope-like attachment to control and limit the out-trigger?I believe Pneumatic for the top attachment and pair with Gears for the folding mechanism should work.

    Sample colours are very subjective unless we are referring to Pantone charts. All 4 colour presented by rm8 were consider good for me. For Stickers: Logos & Name: - Letro (Oil) - rm8 (Car model, can we get a technic figure driver name rm8?) - 8 (Racing number) - BOSS (Car name) Elements: - Stripes (For deco) - Flame (For deco)

    Thanks jm731lego! Once you invest in a good set, you'll be thought with the building techniques and functions from it's manual. It was a youtube video on 8110 which got me started with Lego Technic and my very first investment. All thanks to Tito Nobre who published his review back then. Take your time to read more and get poisoned : )

    The more you watch this space the more excited you gonna be. I was attracted to Lego Technic when I first saw 8110 demo video from YouTube. I was astonished! Kept the set over a year before I finally release my itch. The progress was build wow, build wow....

    Hi! Thank you for viewing this topic! Lego 9398 Challenge has ended. Before I dismantle and move on with other ideas.
