Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I don't think you can build such rocks with a specific technique someone else made before. Just try the angles out until you are happy with them... and with the time, every rock gets better ;-) -
Welcome to Eurobricks! This is one great MOC!

Thanks! It was a lot fun to build, because it was completely different to what I usually do. Yeah, I also had the LEGO Movie in mind when I built this (I watched it one day before this build), but I thought that the Unikitty wouldn't fit in there that well as the rainbow warriors (another reason was that I don't have one...). Thank you! I first had the castle without the minifigs and then they were a last minute detail. I think they turned out pretty sweet ;-). Thanks Leoric! Thank you for this kind comment! Thank you! It was a great experience, you should also participate in this contest (you almost have 2 weeks left). Thanks mate! This build was actually pretty much a rushed one, I built it in one day ;-). Haha, I still have some purple turbans left, so why not :-D. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you. I agree with you about the top. Thanks Infernum! Thanks Cara. I also first had the eye and then thought what I could do with it. What you see here is the (first) result ;-).

Hi there! I recently built the Illuminati sign. I'm not sure if this really belongs in the Historic Theme, but in the end it is something historical, so I just put it here ;-). Have a nice day! Simon

Hey guys! I present you my entry to the [ulr=http://classic-castle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=25172]Taste the Rainbow Contest[/url] on CC. Because this castle isn't realistic at all, I thought that it could fit well in a dream or even hallucinations. So I decided to name it after one of the most famous people from Basel, Albert Hofmann. He was that crazy chemist who discovered LSD... And now, enjoy the build ;-). Thanks for checking out, I hope you like it ;-). Have a nice day! Simon

Awesome build mate! The gold roof on the white house looks fantastic! I like how clean the whole build is! -
This is one awesome landscape! The colour combinations really make it stand out and the simplicity of the water makes a good contrast to it. All in all, this build is a huge win. I don't know what whould have made it better - it's just perfect.

I already commented on this over at Flickr, but I can't say how great this MOC is. I love the look of the walls and the elefphant armor is perfectly done .
-
Great build Gilbert! That wall looks really great . How long did it take to make that curved wall?
-
Hey Peter! Nice to see another build of you, it looks great! I love the classical feeling, while it still has some cool techniques in it!
-
Awesome build! I love all the details you put in there!

Wow, awesome architecture! I love how it feels very dark without using a lot of black in it .

Thanks mate! Here's a link to the roof techniques thread, where I posted how to do it: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34961&st=25 Thanks Ecc! I didn't finish with sorting (only done about 20% until now) and I found one broken bamboo leave until now, so I think that's pretty good. Also, there was a carpet on the floor and the table wasn't very high, so it worked well. I actually dropped it because I don't have my drivers licence yet and a friend drove me to the convention, but I coudn't find someone to drive my MOC back. That means, I had to go home by train and I couldn't it transport like that, so I dropped it and stuffed it all into one suitcase.

Thank you Gabe! Thanks Yooha! Thanks mate. I also worked quite some time on this ;-). Oh no, now this all starts again . Thanks for the kind comment! Thank you Gideon. Your castle was a great inspiration for me in this layout. And it also got a lot of attention ;-). You know, that's the good thing of LEGO: You can put the bricks together only to take them apart after it ;-).

Gilbert, you just joined the right time! The Avalonian Challenge should come very soon. I look forward to your GoH MOCs ;-). -
Thank you LegoPanda! Thanks mate :) Thanks Gunman! Thank you! My sister sent me a cup full of the olive cheese and the column parts from the PaB wall :-D. Thanks mate for this very kind comment! Thank you! Thanks kabel. P.s. being a Barbarian is pretty cool ;-) Thank you. The reason for the small buildings is the following: If I make them larger, the castle would seem way smaller. And then I also could fit only 2 houses in there, but I wanted to make enough to have all required categories for the Historican Settlements Challenge done. Thanks Gilbert! It's nice to see you here in the forum! Also welcome to Avalonia, you obviously choose the best guild ;-). P.s. I did a similar bear before with black studs as eyes and I was more happy with this solution (maybe because it is a little bit more comical). Haha, thanks mate! Thanks mate. The castle actually wasn't for CCC, I just posted it before because I had great sunlight outside and could take good pictures. Thank you! Wow, thank you for these kind words! It means a lot to me to hear all the nice comments from you. I didn't manage to put all my pieces in it, mostly because of the lack of baseplates (I only have 8 green and 2 blue ones)... also, a guy from the SwissLUG sent me a PaB cup full of 1x4 brown tiles, which I couldn't all use (maybe around 300 of 800)... and in the end, I also had many other pieces left.

Hey guys I haven't posted any builds for some time, but that doesn't mean that I am dead ;-). I just was busy... with building! Last weekend, I was at my first LEGO convention, the SteinCHenwelt 2014. I had a great time there and I even won a Orthanc set (not because I was the best builder, just because of luck). So now, I'm proud to present you the second part of my diorama I built for this exhibition (Belynia Castle, first module): Belynia Village I built 5 more HSS buildings in this: 1. HSS Laborers: Stone mine 2. HSS Nautical: Harbor Interior 3. HSS Craftsmen (General Goods): Carpenter Interior 4. HSS Agriculture (Livestock): Horse Farm Interior 5. HSS Hospitality: Tavern Interior Also here is a convention shot: And then, this... Thank you for looking and have a great day! Simon Schweyer
