  1. Letter of marque granted! @All who have (or will) receive an Eslandolan Letter of Marque - I will be sending Ska a private PM including the list of all ships sailing with the letter, with instructions to only attack Mardierian warships, ships holding Mardierian letters of marque, and NPC pirates (besides fighting off or taking any attackers in self-defense, obviously). So if you are a pirate and do want to attack any other ships, you will need to privately send Ska a counter-command to that effect. Of course, this is OOC, and any such attacks will not be covered by the letter of marque, or condoned by the nation of Eslandola!
  2. Thanks Elostirion! The machine was definitely the center-piece of the build, glad you like it! Go right ahead! The only pity about that floor technique is that (unless it's in an all-LEGO scene) it requires a humongous border to cover the edges! Thanks Capt Wolf!
  3. A couple more beautiful ships from you, KB, brilliant rigging, color-scheme, and flags on the Perseverante, and I love the amount of minfigure action and activity you always include in your builds! Excellent hull-shaping and stern are great as well, and the cannons look superb too! Excellent job on the second ship as well, while for some reason I generally prefer ships without the full hull, I can only imagine how much time and work goes into them! Great work, keep it up!
  4. A Quick Eslandolan Lesson on Profit has been given and received at the ETWC headquarters in Pontelli!
  5. Did I mess them all up?! Ah, phew, I didn't get every one wrong! - The HMS Hunter was captured (see Ska's results for that one here), the Mardier's Misfit did capture the Drawn Breathe (which is how I had it marked previously, see Ska's sheet here), and the HMS Gauntlet also took the opposing ship (which also is how I had it marked - see the last ship on the first linked sheet). Not quite sure how you read that wrong (unless you edited it and fixed it before I got here! ) Nevermind, I see - it is all correct in the Ship's taken list, I'll update the detailed report which has the mistakes in it in a second! The "Ship's Taken" list should be all correct now though, so just use that Edit: Alright, went over it all, and everything ought to be correct!
  6. Sure, will do! I'll just go ahead and include all the necessary information in the PM
  7. The ETWC has just licenced its headquarters office in Pontelli as a small commerce:
  8. The ETWC headquarters office in Pontelli (licenced by the ETWC as a small commerce)
  9. A couple of days ago on the Eslandolan island of Nelissa: It was a calm, peaceful day at the ETWC headquarters in Pontelli... Without, the citizens of Pontelli strolled leisurely about - a 'prentice boy chased after his run-away chicken, and a now well-to-do printer of our acquaintance carried off the latest news to his press in subdued excitement. Inside, Myles and Alberto da Pontelli, the mayor of the town, talked energetically of math and scientific experiments, as well as of the best ways to navigate the seas, and how well the ETWC was doing on its trading. The monkey seemed to be discussing the benefits of having four hands when it came to food with the second mate... In short, it was a normal day in the ETWC headquarters, when suddenly a commotion was heard outside, and the door - which had thankfully been unlocked - burst in with a crash. "Pshaw!" exclaimed Captain Whiffo with a breathless gasp. "What ever are you all doing! Haven't you heard the news?!" "What news, sir?" replied the first mate with a grin. "I'm afraid the news has been flying about recently in such quantities that it is really a bit hard to keep track of it all! Nevertheless, the outcome of all the news is the same - Eslandola is the great faction and most intriguingly wonderful nation upon earth- but that is hardly news, you know." "Ha, sirrah!" broke in the Captain with a gesture of his hook hand - "If you don't know what news I'm talking of your less of an Eslandolan than I thought you! What do you think it is?! The King has gone off and rocked himself mad!" "In short, sirs," he continued, shaking his hook hand at the mayor, not for any particular reason, "allow me to give you a quick Eslandolan lesson on profit, and how to make it! - a neighboring nation of happy, contented Oleanders will trade much better than a heap of mopes - for whatever else I might think, I doubt those Oleander fellows have enough sense to appreciate the benefits of living under the Eslandolan flag - and our King would do much better to sit in Terelli ruling over all of us, than bothering to rule over those mad fellows as well (for you know, if they weren't mad, they'd be Eslandolan, obviously). Whatever is to become of our excellent trade with Granoleon if all the Oleander princes flee at the sight of a green coat?!" "Sir," interjected the first mate with a wink, "I hear the demand for nightcaps in Granoleon is about to skyrocket." "Pshaw!" exclaimed Captain Whiffo, "bring a nightcap along with you than, Mr. Bowditch, sir, for we sail for Terelli at a moment's notice!" "Aye, aye, sir!" replied the latter. "And I just gave you that moment's notice, by the way," concluded the Captain - "we sail out with the tide!" "And that is," he added, sticking his head back in the door for a second, "in five minutes!" Out he dashed as quickly as he had come in, leaving the rest to gather the crew in the time allotted as best as possible. But of course, there was no problem with that - Eslandolans never need two quick Eslandolan lessons on profit! (In fact, they don't even need one - they just like talking about it... ) A couple more shots: A little reaction build from me to show what the ETWC thinks of King Fernando Augusto VIII's little excursion, and it will be licenced by said trade company as a small commerce in Pontelli. Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!
  10. And, you're approved too! I thought most people thought that the real king was mad... It's a piece of good Eslandolan policy never to attack merchant vessels - if you're Eslandolan you will make a lot more off of them if you let them come in and trade (plus, that way they'll come back and do it again! ) As far as the MRCA part goes, would there be a possibility of adding a note section to the form so that anyone submitting one could specify if they would like to let traders escape? (Supposing, of course that it wouldn't make your impressive MRCA work-load too much greater! )
  11. Yes it does - however, the difference between ESL's and MAR's is that, unlike MAR, we aren't condoning or rewarding the capture of tradeships (though I don't believe MAR has any, so its a moot point except for IC stuff, ), and of course, warships don't have any cargo space on board. However, if you were to capture a MAR predatoring WR or F or suchlike with an ESL letter of marque, the full treasure comes with the deal! Your letter of marque is approved
  12. To all the citizens, nations, and peoples of the Brick Seas! The nation of Eslandola, being currently busily prosecuting its war with the preying nation of Mardier, brought on by said nation’s ruthless and unprovoked attacks upon Eslandolan shipping of all kinds without the slightest discrimination, does this day (October 12th, 616) offer a letter of marque to privateers of the honourable nations of Corrington and Oleon (and Eslandola, of course), as well as to any free-lancers of good reputation, granting the captains of ships holding said letter the right to attack and take any warships sailing the Mardierian flag, as well as any warships sailing under a Mardierian letter of marque – which ships shall be considered as right and lawful prizes of war in all courts. The High Council of Eslandola shall further reward any captain that may accept this letter of marque with full possession of any vessels taken by his ship, as well as a reward of 110 gold doubloons for any Mardierian warship (or any warship allied with said disgraced nation) sunk or captured, to be paid by the crown upon proof of the fact. Signed, The High Council of Eslandola - E. T. Wilkinson de Chauncourtois Guy K. Wyndzon Sign up in this thread or by PMing Kai or myself!
  13. Eslandola has issued a Letter of Marque against Mardier and its cohorts - sign up either in the afore-linked thread or by PMing Kai or myself! (May I be the first to say that I love privateers and letters of marque? It's awesome to see the wheels turning in the world of the Brick Seas!)
  14. To all the citizens, nations, and peoples of the Brick Seas! Signed, The High Council of Eslandola - E. T. Wilkinson de Chauncourtois Guy K. Wyndzon In order to receive an Eslandolan letter of marque, please either sign up for it in this thread, or PM either Kai or me (or both preferably, if you have the ability) for one, which we will attempt to confirm before the deadline for the next MRCA (the 15th). Fire away!
  15. Yes - the other prizes haven't been hammered out yet, but I think we are going to slow down a bit with the islands just now - as you said, every faction has plenty enough to occupy them in exploring and settling for quite a while!
  16. Thanks all! Thanks, Maestro! Getting the interior to all fit together just right and be view-able from pretty much every angle was definitely the most tricky and time-consuming part, and I'm really glad that it turned out well! About the trees (or the lack thereof! ) - one of my most definite ideas going into this was to have no trees, as just about all of my brown slopes were tied up in a ship which I didn't want to total more than necessary before it was finished! I definitely hope to have time to build more for GoH soon! Thanks again! Thanks en_zoo! That removable section definitely made things way easier when it came to photography! Thank you! I really love that lighter green and used just about every piece I (and Kai, for that matter! ) had in that color here! Ha, ha, yes, that mountain was pretty parts consuming! I tend to agree that a few more splashes and variation towards the edges of the waterfall would have been great, but it can be quite difficult to get LEGO parts to look like a fluid substance like water! That staircase was one of the first interior parts that I came up with (in time, even, to steal it out of this build to use it in a small BoBS build while I was building this!), and I'm glad I was able to get the interior to look large and spacious! Thanks! Thanks! Snow can actually be somewhat difficult to build sometimes (like when you are running out of every single white piece! I really need to build up my white collection a bit!), but in the end it can be very rewarding and add a lot to the color-scheme of a build! Thank you! Thanks a lot, Legofin, I'm glad everyone enjoys the interiors! And I was quite relieved to finally destroy this thing by the time I was finished, as it just about took up the whole of my desk! Thanks a lot Blufiji! The angles of all the buildings and making them fit together was a bit of a pain sometimes, but I really like the aspect of it in the end as well! Thanks! Thanks a lot Kai! I hoped the snow would finish off the color-scheme well, and of course it was a requisite for Mitgardia! Thanks! Thanks Mpyromaxos! Great to be back building here! Thanks a lot SK, those were some of my personal favorite sections and details as well! Good point about the sudden change in elevation! - I had thought of that a little as I was building, but the castle walls were a bit in the way for making it much more gradual. I'll definitely keep that in mind next time, though, thanks!
  17. Excellent build and intreguing story, Elostirion (and Bregir!), very neat and innovative approach to the story giving a lot of insight into both Montoya and Fontanajo's views and plans! While I certainly don't promise to agree with them all myself, (IC, of course, I mean), I really like this kind of sig-fig cross-examination and hope more of this will be seen in the future of BoBS! And on to the build itself! - Wow! All those neat red roofs are very impressive - as well, of course, as the size of the entire thing, and I'm delighted to see that you've gone and included a full interior! Nice fig-posing, and lots of great details packed into this space, and it looks like a very appropriate residence for such an ambitious and up-and-coming fellow as Roman E. Fontanajo! Great work here!
  18. Great build, Faladrin, and great to see that you're still building here! The different delegations are very cool, and I agree that the double door trick is very clever! Keep it up!
  19. Very nice story and excellent build, Captain Mengish! The foliage and two-colored tree leaves look great, and the buried pirate captain, as well as the live one, are very nice as well! My only problem here is that I'm not quite sure how the build and story are connected - both are excellent in their own right, but I'm not quite sure how they fit together! However, overall, superb job - it's great to have you in the Brick Seas, and I'm looking forward to Captain Mengish's adventures!
  20. Very nice inn, SilentWolf - as the others mentioned, the blue looks great, and the interior is neatly furnished and filled up as well! I'm kind of wondering if you were talking about the King of Oleon or the King of Eslandolan, though Keep it up!
  21. Very nice build (and story as usual! ), Franco Clarke, that barge looks great, and the different uses of it are awesome! It's good to see that there are three less pirates in the Brick Seas as well, and I'm intrigued by that new weapon! Keep it up!
  22. Thanks all! Oh ho, I dare say the King would be a bit concerned if he heard of it - but no fear of that, he's locked himself into his private bed-chamber and is tossing his night-caps about in a superabundance of anticipation and glee! Thanks a lot, Puvel, glad to hear it from you! The action posing was very fun (after we stopped things from falling and smashing the build to bits in the photography! ) Thanks! Thanks Mpyromaxos! I definitely plan on doing more jungles and fort after this! - though hopefully not involving such - ahem - controversial action! Ha, ha, ha, thanks Captain B! The dark red and white towers just looked so Eslandolian our soldiers couldn't resist!
  23. Another awesome build from you, Ayrlego! Excellent job with the jungle, and the marching grenadiers, as Elostirion mentioned, are posed perfectly as well! And it's great to see you guys on our side in the war against Mardier!
  24. Great job with the finished fort, Capt Wolf, the triangular shape (yes, I know everyone else mentioned it too! ) looks great and is unique, and the round bastions with the raised ground for the cannons are awesome as well! If there's one thing I'd nitpick about (besides the light tan wedges, which I agree look a little odd), it would be the squareness of the block-house... maybe it's just me, but I don't think I've ever been much of a fan of just about any blockhouses I've seen! (Well, except for this one, at least! But two storied ones always look odd to me...) Great group of Eslandolan troops though (I really need to get some of those shirts! Though the probability is that nothing of the kind will happen for two or three years, and then I might have one or two... ), and the dark brown stripes on the roofs are very nice! Great work!
  25. Really an awesome build, Capt. Wolf, the walls being white-washed was a brilliant idea and perfectly executed, and the palm trees, palisade, and cannonball stack are just a few more of the great details! The flagpole and guys cutting down the trees are very neat as well - great way to build up Fuerte Unido!
