  1. @Thorg - Thanks for the insight. I didn't notice the change in the slope of the front edges. I have to agree that the new speeder looks much more movie-accurate than the older versions. That pretty much clinches the set on my "want" list.
  2. I say get this set. It is really well done, accurate, and a fun build. It is swooshable, and feels nice and solid. The TIEs in Rebels will likely be different from the movie TIEs. The ones I've seen in the trailers have much smaller solar panels on the sides. Makes them look a little weird, IMHO.
  3. So you are only talking about UCS sets that are also for sale on S@H?
  4. Oh I completely agree with your statement. I was just wondering why Frankjaeger says never to bid on a UCS set. I did a quick search and found quite a few that are obviously legitimate.
  5. Really? Please explain.
  6. When building a set I usually have the soundtrack from the movie where the ship/scene/vehicle is seen playing in the background.
  7. Ordered 75055 and 75054 from Amazon. $10 off each, free 2-day shipping, no tax; saved more $$ than waiting for double VIP points at S@H.
  8. Excellent work, Markus! This is by far my favorite scene in all of the SW movies, and you did a great job capturing in in LEGO. Like the others, I especially like the trench. It is exactly like the one the Rebel dug out in ESB. The turret is fantastic, I wish TLG would make one so movie-accurate. And I wouldn't worry about the lack of footprints. When its REALLY cold out snow is so hard that human footprints are pretty much imperceptible.
  9. It doesn't bother me at all if others MOD their pieces like that, but I don't think I could ever do it. I would have this gut-wrenching fear that I would destroy a piece I might need intact later on.
  10. +1 to buying at the big stores, Target and Wal-Mart to get the actual TLG prices. Another way to get around paying sales tax is by ordering on Amazon. They also often have prices lower than even the big box stores, so it's a double win. I just bought 75055 and 75054 for $10 below RRP each; no sales tax, and free 2-day shipping. Its a better deal that going through TLG on double-points month. The only thing is having a U.S. address. I wonder if Amazon would ship to a hotel room....
  11. Welcome to the site from a fellow Illinois-ian. I'm up in the Chicago-area.
  12. +1. LOVE the blurred photos. This and your next scene would have been good spots to show beer-goggles. The girls they picked up looked like a Twi-lek dancing girl in the bar, but the next morning were Gamorians. LOL
  13. I was stationed in Seoul for a year. That looks like a normal Monday morning for us.
  14. Hahaha. Very clever! Definitely a place I'd go to relax.
  15. Oh ok, I see it now. Nicely done.
  16. Very very well done! You were able to capture the details quite nicely. It looks close enough to scale, for me. One of my favorite parts of ROTJ is where the Frigate is trading broadsides with the Executor. I always wished they showed more ship-to-ship fighting. What's the orange/grey thing sticking out of the Star Destroyer's starboard side turret?
  17. Cool, thanks for the info, Doc. I'll have to check my library for the artwork.
  18. Is it me or does the AT-DP look like the head of an AT-AT attached to the legs of an AT-ST?
  19. People have been using this nickname for me since I was 13 years old.
  20. I agree with most of the sentiment on this thread: don't sell your sets! If you're getting overwhelmed and not having a sense of enjoyment from collecting your sets I think it's time for a break. Put everything in dark storage, find another hobby, then when the time is right there will be a trigger that will get you back into LEGO again.
  21. rollermonkey isn't saying you don't have the right to report on fake products, he is questioning the use of the word "official" in your organization. What makes it "official?"
  22. LOL, I should have known that. Thanks!
  23. I'm really digging all of the new battle-pack sets in this wave. The Shadow Troopers are an unexpected surprise, I like them a lot more than I thought I would. Senate Commandos, IIT, Geonosis Troopers, all look like they're going to end up in my collection. Overall this looks like a pretty good wave. One thought, is it me or are we missing the large sets? The ones that are $110+.
  24. Ehhh, I have to disagree. The V-Wing was very much purposely put in ROTS by George Lucas himself, and is canon. Quinlan Vos was just a nameless extra in a scene which was given a backstory by an EU author. From wookiepedia (sorry for the formatting): Rob Coleman originally considered showing TIE Fighters at the end of Revenge of the Sith, but Lucas decided to show V-wing starfighters instead, pointing out that the Empire would have nineteen years to build TIEs. As a reference to TIE fighters, however, they have very similar engine sounds, as can be heard towards the end of the film when two V-wings escorting Palpatine's shuttle fly to his medical center, or when several pairs of V-wings are seen patrolling the area where construction of the Death Star is beginning. Quinlan Vos was based on a background character portrayed by an unknown actor in The Phantom Menace. His character was created by author [/background]John Ostrander and artist Jan Duursema, though Vos's first non-film appearance was actually a cameo in the Timothy Truman–penned Emissaries to Malastare.
  25. The V-Wing isn't EU, it's actually in ROTS.
