  1. I'm not big into PT sets, but I was actually looking forward to seeing the AAT from this wave. However, I'm disappointed with the size. Like others have said, it looks like a slightly larger version of the micro fighters AAT. The more I look at the AT-DP, the T-16, and the IIT (I, too, am hoping for OT Stormies), the more I'm impressed. I am really looking forward to this wave.
  2. Oh, forgot to mention my excitement for the T-16! I'm always partial to Tatooine sets, and this one looks like a really big improvement over the original set. Hopefully the womp rat will be decent-sized. And I hope there are more than 1 Tusken Raiders included.
  3. Thanks for posting the link to that pic! The micro fighters look pretty cool, definitely getting the snow speeder and AT AT, probably the Spider Walker and Gunship, too. I like the looks of that AT-DP more than I thought I would. Probably will pick that up as well. The battle packs look great! Can't wait for them to start hitting the shelves.
  4. I don't see why anyone would care what Disney says about what is canon and what isn't. So what?? If you like the books, the video games, the comics, etc, they enjoy them, and set aside Disney's official stance on what is real SW lore and what isn't. It's all make-believe anyway, so why get so serious about it? Just continue to find joy where did before.. I love the books by Zahn, so I don't care what Disney says about them. I'll still re-read them and get as much enjoyment from the stories as I did before Disney's announcement.
  5. Yeah, that was my first thought. But this is LEGO so it's possible! Maybe there's a way to meet in the middle, like have people donate bricks that you need. It would also reduce the amount of brick sourcing you'd have to do. I might have missed it in this thread, but have you attempted to get a list of what you'll need to build this masterpiece from LDD?
  6. Now that is a fantastic idea. It would take some work to break down the ship into manageable sections and to QA the builds, but I think it would be much more rewarding to spend a couple hundred $$ on BL getting pieces to build a section than donate the cash.
  7. Very cool. What did you use for source material? I've read all of the Rouge Squadron books and the X-Wings are just as I imagined them.
  8. Yeah, that would be my suggestion. I don't know much about getting color back, but if I bleached out some black pieces I'd probably write them off. Get on BL and see what you can find. I don't have the set so I can't vouch for how many rare parts it has, but looking at it on Brickset, it looks like the black pieces are fairly common. So they shouldn't be too pricey.
  9. I think so. The set has great mini figures, and was a fun build. It captured the main moments in the hangar from the movie, and did so with a economical price.
  10. Damn dude, who peed in your cereal this morning? Battlepacks aren't battles in a box? Says who, you? LOL, if that's TLG's definition, then that's what a battlepack is. It's like arguing what a UCS set is; it's whatever TLG says it is. They make it! Please post the sales figures of the DS Gunner/Guard battle pack compared to other packs this year and years past. I'm curious as to how poorly it is selling. You should be able to post that information easily since you claim to already know it. Finally, minifigures are a big part of making a set sell. That's why TLG puts them in UCS sets, now. It broadens the sets' appeal. But you already knew that, didn't you?
  11. AFAIK if you have a MOC you just post a thread about it in the SW Lego section; and put (MOC) in the title.
  12. LOL, there is SOOO much potential here, isn't there? I'd love to see all of those figures created, and I really want a Cloud City set. I mean, arguably the most pivotal moment in ALL of the SW movies happens in Cloud city in the reactor shaft. Sorry, Doc, got a little off topic.
  13. Geez dude, you've done it again! That's incredible, simply outstanding. Once I'm back home I'll check out the pics on flikr. How many pieces is that? And how long did it take you to create it?
  14. After letting the initial excitement wear off I have to say I'm still pretty thrilled with this set. I do think that the color scheme makes the ship look too "new" and TLG should have used the same colors as 6209. But this is minor, like arguing whether an X-Wing should be white or grey. However, my main complaint with the set is the lack of mini figures. I think we should have gotten a Lando, Lobot, and/or Bespin Leia with this set. Or maybe even a Chewie with C-3PO in a backpack! Now that would have been cool. But I'll still be buying this set. TLG, you win!
  15. WOW! The rumors are true! I can't wait to get a better look at this set, but from what has been posted the UCS Slave 1 looks really cool. I hope we get a lot of interior detail.
  16. Score! You'll have to let us know what you think of the mini Ghost.
  17. I'm wondering how the Vulture Droid will look with a pilot. The fighters are specifically designed not to need a pilot.
  18. My advice is to use Bricklink as a baseline for what the set is worth, then see if you can find a deal on eBay. If you're in no rush you might have to wait quite a while, but you can find good sets from collectors for a good price. You just have to be really patient, most stuff on eBay is way overpriced. If you want the set sooner just get one from BL. Prices sometimes fluctuate, but you might not find the drop to be significant enough to wait.
  19. Are you thinking the aftermarket price will drop? I've got the newest version of the AT-TE, and I've seen it on sale at Amazon for a few months now.
  20. On the site right now, using Safari on a MBA. No issues.
  21. Depends on how much you'll get for the set you want to get rid of and how much the set you want is worth.
  22. Great work on making the cell look worn and aged. Even the floor is rough and uneven.
  23. Wow! This is coming along really well. Are you going to make it full height?
  24. Yep, I started working on the LDD design of my house about a year after I bought it. Then I started actually remodeling my house myself (putting in hardwood floors, built-in bookshelves, new baseboards, lights, etc) so the LDD project has fallen by the wayside. However, I'm nearing the end of my project list so I think I'll be starting up the MOC of my house this winter.
  25. You've even got George Lucas in there.
