Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Interesting. I question that this is actually the Devastator studio model because of the antenna array at the top of the bridge tower. It's flat, and the ship in ANH had the array vertical, like in Obi-wan37's post. -

Yeah, I can only find good images of the Devastator from an angle that mostly shows the bottom hull. After looking at my 10030 I see what you're saying, that second level should stick out more, like a wedding cake tier. Without good images of the Devastator I can't say if that's an error in design or was supposed to be like that. The ship is on screen one more time as it approaches the Death Star to deliver Vader and Leia, but it's hard to tell from this rear angle. -

It could be because 10030 is based on the Star Destroyer seen in ANH, not ESB/ROTJ. 10030 is the Devastator, Darth Vader's ship that chased down the Tantive IV. It's different than the ISDs seen in the later movies. The dead give-away is the communications antenna between the shield radomes; the Devastator's is vertical and the later ships have it horizontal. My guess (and I'd have to watch the ANH scenes where you can see the Devastator) is that this is why you see 2 steps on the side of 10030 and 3 steps on ESB/ROTJ ships. -
I guess I was good this year. I got these for Christmas! (sorry for the washed out photo, need to work on my LEGO photography)

Just saw on LEGO dot com that this set is Retiring Soon. Wow, that was a quick run.

I completely agree with you about the blocky style of the old Sandcrawler. It will be cool to see how TLG makes a new one with all of the new build techinques developed over the last 10 years. And since it won't be UCS I'm curious to see what the other 2014 UCS set will be.
-
Regarding the UCS Sandcrawler rumor. Sweet! I hope this is true, I missed out on the first one and would love to have one for my collection. I competely concur with having updated Jawas and Tusken Raiders. I also hope a Lars Homestead is included. There are so many possibilities here. And think of all of the droids we could get, too. Someone mentioned TLG using plates lately, and I've noticed that trend, too. I really hope we get a decent amount of brings if the UCS Sandcrawler does some out. That would make the build so much more enjoyable.

I remember the days when TLG had alternate builds on the back of the boxes. I miss those days. Very clever build.

Thanks!

Very cool. Good detail on the walls and consoles. Nice use of SNOT for the sides, too. I'd like a closer look at those chairs the AT-AT drivers are in.

Awesome! I modded my Rancor pit and Jabba's Palace so the tower doesn't have to be removed and the pit's gate can raise and lower. However, this MOC totally blows mine out of the water. I love how you got EV-9D9's chamber in there. Great job on the droids, too. That's room is sometihng I want to do with mine. Really fantastic job all around.

Wow! Great job on the new additions. The angles on the turret are terrific, something the TLG sets all lack. The AT-ST looks great, as well. Nice details on the body and engine section. Just curious, have you thought of making the legs just a bit longer?

I'm diggin' the new Microfighters. Nicely done TLG, a good way to replace the Planet sets. I just hope these aren't going to be the only OT sets coming out next year (besides the BPs).
-
Love the band, really clever techniques.

hahahaha. These new sets are ok, nothing really jumps out as fantastic. I'll be glad to get the DS gunners, maybe one or two of the PT battle packs. But thankfully this will be an inexpensive wave for me. I still need to pick up the Ewok Village.

Really great job, I like how detailed the whole ship is. The only thing I think might help is making the mandibles just a bit longer. They look a little short in the last pic you posted .

Way cool! Such realistic movement; great job.

Kenner Imperial troop Transporter in lego bricks.

I had that transport as a kid. Very cool! -
Just ordered the Series 4 Planet sets. Paid more than RRP, but since they aren't being sold here I'm ok with that.

The movie version looks greyish due to the lighting on Hoth. Same lighting makes Han's parka look blue when it's dark brown. Fantastic MOC, this is something I've always hoped TLG would make. The landscaping is also really well done. I do have to agree with Fuppylodders, the boob part should be a little bigger in relation to the nipple.

Simply amazing! Just an incredible work of art, so well done. -
Really cool MOC, nice work with all of the details. Your underground stations have so much more character than ours here in the States.

Love it! I hope TLG upgrades the Interceptor to look like that.
