I wouldn't worry, I'm sure we'll get the Series 4 sets in the next few weeks. I'm looking foward to completing my collection.

I've enjoyed reading the discussion about the fins. I must agree with brickdoctor, that even though the plates are more movie-accurate the studs do break up the sleekness of the ship. I think the regular stacked bricks look better.

Sweet! Those sandtroopers are probably my favorite SW minifigures.

I love the sound of this!! The Ewok Village looks awesome, so I can't wait to see what sets TLG comes out with in 2014. Like I've said in other threads, I would love to see another Mos Eisley Cantina, Cloud City, and an Imperial Shuttle. I'd also really like to see a decent Hoth Battle set; so far the sets have fallen short.
-
That would be pretty awesome, I could pick up some new sets that were last out when I was in my Dark Ages. Though I have to admit the PT sets this year are quite cool. I hope TLG mixes in some ROTS sets in 2014 with the rumored OT sets.

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
Chills replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
yeah, I was quite underwhelmed with the set. The N-1 is lacking a lot of detail and the Vulture doid is horrbly designed, especially with the missles. I'd get the 2011 version if I had to do it again. -
The wife and I went by Target and Meijer (a Target-like store in the midwest US) and they had ALL of the new sets. Woot! I almost bought some, but I am waiting to get them directly from TLG so I can get the VIP points. I did spent a few minutes looking over the boxes. I'm not a big PT guy, but the AT-TE, gunship, and Yoda/Dooku battle are all awesome looking. Heck, even the tank droid looks pretty sweet.

Right after Han is put on the platform to lower him into the chamber Ugnauts come over and take his handcuffs off. So he's not wearing any as he goes into the pit. It also explains his hand position when he's in the block of carbonite. Markus, another absolutely amazing MOC. Wow! This is such an amazing scene in the film and you captured it with such exquisite detail. Bravo!

Yep, I've got my fingers crossed. You're right, too, if TLG doesn't announce one by this time next year I'm outta luck for a few years; so I'll likely be hunting a copy of 7166 down on ebay. I've got the 7667, too. That's a great set. I like how the ship can actually drop off the Stormtrooper section and take off again.
-
LOL, that's quite true. To actually use some of the features in the set one must have small hands or a pair of chopsticks. So I do see what you mean by the fact that things are pretty cramped in there. Regarding future sets, this may have been mentioned before but I think a new system-scale version of the Imperial Shuttle would be really cool. It could be Shuttle Tyderium, in conjunction with the other Endor sets released recently. It would include Han, Chewie, Luke and Leia in Endor camo, and a couple of Rebel commandos. I know that most of these figures were already in the Ewok Village, but this set could be the less-expenisve alternative to get the figures (which TLG sometimes does).

Thanks. I recently picked up 10198 Tantive IV so that started my Rebel trooper army. Yeah, that version "Imperial Inspection" is a very cool set, but REALLY pricey. I recall reading somewhere collectors prize it because the stormtroopers have rare printed legs. Have you heard that? I'm keeping an eye out for 7166, the 2001 version. I've seen it on BL for $45, which is more in my price range. I'm actually waiting to pull the trigger to see if TLG comes out with a new version to compliment the Endor sets they've released recently.
-
That does make sense, and I hope you're right.

I heartily disagree. TLG provided an exspensive mega-set with absolutely fantastic minifigures. It also did a brilliant job of assembling the most notable interior DS scenes into a large Death Star playset. Each scene flows well into the next. There are so many ingenious little details throughout the set. During the build I kept finding myself saying, "wow, they even thought of this." Just curious, do you own the set?
-
Very creative, and well-done. I like how the pod itself is bulky, it's trying to be streamlined, but just they just don't have the technology yet.
-
Wow, too bad that isn't for sale around me. I'd make the drive to pick it up. Hey Pete, I've been following Dr. Dave's progress on his AT-AT and I tell myself one of these days I'll have my house projects done so I can build one. It is a truly amazing MOC.

Just grabbed 7668 Rebel Trooper BP from a collector on eBay. I'm down to just one out-of-production set on my wanted list: a version of the Imperial Shuttle.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Chills replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I see what you're saying, but as a rock climber and mountaineer I will tell you one doesn't use an ax when scaling rock faces in the summer. Ice axes are using when you're on snow and ice (like glacier travel, and climbing snowy peaks) where you may need to self-arrest (unless you're actually ice climbing, then you use ice tools) Summer or winter notwithstanding, it's more about the type of climb you're on. I can see him being dressed for a spring ascent of a glaciated peak. He should have gloves, though, if one is being picky. -
very creative. I like it a lot. The style reminds me of the Batmobile from the Tim Burton films, which I thought were very well done.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11 Rumours & Discussion
Chills replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I was wondering at all of the hate towards the mountain climber, he's the only one I really am interested in. I'm a mountaineer and my summit gear is red/black, so this CMF is perfect. Its cool he has a helmet, but I think a parka hood would have been more appropriate. -
I also missed out on the first AT-PT and have been waiting for a new one. This set looks pretty cool, and I really like the Wookie warrior. $70 seems steep at first, but this set looks bigger than the 2008 version. The piece count is nice for the price. I'll probably pick one up for my collection.

TLG's US site says the Ewok Village will be released September 1st. Hopefully you'll see them in England at the same time.
-
That's a really nice looking Y-Wing. I especially like the look of the cockpit, it's low and lean like the real one. The front end of the fuselage looks a bit wide to me, but that's minor. Overall this is a well-detailed MOC.
-
I read that book recently (working my way through the Vong books so I can get the background necessary for the better ones later) and I don't recall the J-type Nubian mentioned. Now I'm curious as to where it was. Off to Wookiepedia I go! But I agree with your assessment, and in all likelihood the ship won't appear in the next trilogy.
-
LOL, that was awesome, Nom Carver. I'm not sure if this has been done before, but I love the creativity in the story and the panes. If anything I'd like to see more action shots of the battles in space and on land.

That would be a pretty old ship if they do.
