HAHAHA, nice. This is a really cool MOC. The details, the lighting, and the SNOT techniques are awesome. Since coming out of my dark ages I'm always amazed at how great using bricks lying flat for a floor looks compared to the old school way of using plates.

I thought the original TLG version was pretty cool, but the engine size and the placement of the rear engine sections always really bothered me. You've done an awesome job of making the engines the right size and offsetting the rear sections. Those details are part of what makes the X-Wing such a unique and iconic piece of the sci-fi genre. Marvelous!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

I have to disagree, the Death Star's features makes it great to display. Since the set has so many details and iconic scenes it makes a great central display piece. -
Wow, so we really are getting Revan. I stand corrected. This is really cool, though; it looks like he's got a lot of detail printed on his body. I've gotta say I'm really looking forward to this year's May 4th.
-
Those characters are from the movies, just different colors. Revan is totally EU. I'm not arguing against having Revan as the promo fig, I think that would be pretty cool, I'm just not convinced TLG is going this direction.
-
Some good points brought up why this wouldn't be the May the 4th promo: EU is supposedly dead by order of Disney, and all other promos have been characters from the movies, this would be the first EU character.

Does anyone else live in fear... (of new sets missing pieces)
Chills replied to Farmer Harv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
YES!!! This has happened to me a few times; most recently when I was building the Ewok Village on my coffee table (which is solid wood... not the greatest color difference from the LEGO pieces). There were a number of times I either put the wrong color on or mis-sorted a piece because of the color, or thought I didn't get it out of the plastic bag. -
A month to go! EDIT: I just saw the set on the US S@H website and it says available May 3rd.

Does anyone else live in fear... (of new sets missing pieces)
Chills replied to Farmer Harv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have about 142 sets, and every one that's come from LEGO has been complete; not one piece missing. I am a sorter, so when I open the bag I like to sort by color and piece. Now when it comes to used sets I only buy ones that are said to be 100% complete. That being said of the 2 dozen or so sets I've bought used only two or three have actually been 100% complete. Of the sets that weren't complete the sellers have always been helpful about supplying the missing pieces. I wouldn't live in fear of missing pieces. What's the worst that can happen? One is missing, TLG sends you a new one, and you have to hold off on your finished set for a week. Big deal. -
Kuat Drive Yards Imperial AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport)
Chills replied to rx79gez8gundam's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very cool MOC! I really like all of the detail, especially the armor and the interior spaces. I have the same concerns as the others about stability, but I would like to see this MOC come to life. Any plans to actually create it? How many pieces is it? -
Very well done. Nice detail on the arms.
-
Not bad. I have to say the connector sections from the ball to the wings are a bit thick. The ball section should be more prominent.
-
My favorite was the ISD, until you just posted the Executor. WOW!!! I love the way it looks. Can you post some more angles of the MOC with the LEDs?
-
Hey MaceWindu, forgive me but I don't get it....

"Soon" is a relative term. How much time passed between the 2 X-Wing UCS sets?
-
Cool, that's a bit of SW trivia I didn't know about... or the tattoo.
-
Really cool, Anio. I like how you didn't just create a big MOC, you made one very detailed and with perfect scale.
-
WOW! That's one giant Hutt carving. I really like the creativity in honoring Jabba. The detail is fantastic and the use of SNOT really well done. Does the red design on the floor have a specific meaning?

I ended up buying a bigger house. Not JUST for LEGO but my wife and I more than doubled our living space, and the house has a big empty basement that I'm working on finishing for my LEGO addiction.

Very cool MOC, Bob. I like the hints of Corellian Corvetter in it, but it definitely looks Madalorian.

Intersting. So is that EB's official position on selling the pieces someone used to make a MOC from another's instructions? That it is only allowed if the instruction creator says it's allowed? You may want to halt the legal discussion, but the original purpose of the thread was to sell the pieces used to build the MOC from Baron's instructions. I think it would be a good idea to have EB's official position on such actions so members know what the rules are.

Nabbed the Death Star Trooper BP when I first saw it in the store a couple of days ago. Today I grabbed the Jedi Defender-class Cruiser for a good price, MISB.

Brickmamba, I think this is an interesting argument, and it should be worked out. This kind of issue will likely come up in the future. It makes sense that Baron owns the IP rights to the instructions of his MOC, but does that really mean someone can't sell a model based on the instructions? ISDAvenger never took credit for the build, he rightfully said his model was created from Baron's instructions. He is simply selling the pieces used to create the model; essentially saving a buyer from having to source the pieces himself. It would be like someone Bricklinking the UCS MF and then selling the completed model on ebay. Could LEGO go after that person, especially if the person gave full disclosure that the model was created using LEGO's instructions, pieces sourced on Bricklink, and in no way was trying to say the model was his own creation? I don't think LEGO could or even would do that. That being said, there is a printed "warning" on the instructions (which I assume were there at the time of purchase). Does ISDAvenger's purchasing of the instructions mean he automatically entered into a contract with Baron, and bind him to agree with the limits of use set forth by Baron? I think it would if at the time of purchase there was some sort of notification by Baron to ISDAvenger stating something like, "by purchasing these instructions you agree to the limits contained herein." If not then it would be difficult to enforce any limitations beyond currently recognized IP rights. Otherwise a MOC creator could put just about any limitation on their instructions and expect the buyer to abide by them even if the buyer did not explicitly agree to the terms of the limitations. I completely understand Baron's desire to exert control over his creations, but is this control reasonable? I think it is more reasonable to expect that someone in ISDAvenger's position be able to sell the pieces, but the instructions must be purchased from Baron.

Solscud, those are fantastic! Great job with the camera work, but also very creative. You had me laughing at my desk here at the office.
