  1. I have eight, I believe, of the new sort. I've got three of the old sort as well, two grey and one green. The Technic axel is great on the new one, but I find the crowbar tool's are better to separate bricks.
  2. I'm no way interested in constraction however from my non-subjective view Hero Factory is better than BIONICLE. I've got sets from both, but I think in one major department as discussed Hero Factory is better, the Storyline. As someone whom is completely disinterested normally in those sorts of sets, Hero Factory is much easier to understand and comprehend to a degree, I don't need to read a 1000 word essay to understand the basics, it's a group of Heroes stopping a villain/s dastardly plans etc. BIONICLE still gives me a head-ache, this, that, the other...For someone who became interested in Lego via the Indy sets in 08, at the far end of BIONICLE, trying to understand what a Jetrax T3 or a Mavzeka was just confusing and any flicker of interest was immediately extinguished by this utter confusion and madness of a storyline. It as the original poster said, became cluttered and too focused with quite frankly nonsense to a non fan. Hero Factory also looks more MODable than BIONICLE, the panels are easy to swap etc. Just my two pence.
  3. 6876 Alienator, 6882 Walking Astro Grappler, and 6848 Strategic Pursuer.
  4. Not as much as I'd like to, unfortunately. I try as much as I can every year, but due to many things, I haven't been back for just under three years.
  5. Cead mile failte! I searched around, and could find topics for a wide array of countries, but none for Ireland. So, to ask, is their any Irish around on EB? If I have missed one Mod's either delete this one or merge it. To get the ball rolling, I'm originally from Cork, however, I now live in England.
  6. Great review, Clone O'Patra! I believe I'll be buying this, I'm no Steampunk fan but a giant patched up Pirate, fully articulated and with a giant sword? And that skeleton will be good to make a skinless Terminator. Slightly disturbing, apparently that Treasure chest is what's left of him, his "body parts" according to my latest Lego catalogue after a battle with Lord Business before the events of the film. I can understand the bone, but the Sausage?!? You'd think they'd sensor that sort of thing...
  7. I wonder what the acronym will be for the MMO Series? Looks great, thank you for posting. It's great to see better pictures of the Marvel Minifigures and the Creator sets, particularly the new log cabin.
  8. Not a fan of LOTR or the Hobbit, however, if I see any of the sets on discount or for a deal or something, then I tend to buy them. Great parts overall, I'm more of the sort who embraces change but prefers a simpler approach, hence I prefer Classic Castle/Fantasy Era/Kingdoms/ 2013 stuff. To answer your questions, 1: I buy them yes, mainly to part out the minifigures, and then repurpose the set. 2: Do I prefer the minifigures? No, is the short answer. I'd take yellow for my Castle guys any day of the week, but I still appreciate them, and find uses for them in part form mainly in Super-Heroes. Do I prefer the parts/accessories? Hard Question. I like the fact that LOTR/Hobbit has introduced extremely useful parts to a Castle setting. New swords, new Horses, the new "Brick-Brick" parts, the Ring part, most of witch have been introduced into the 2013 Castle wave. I like them, but prefer them to be side by side with the standard stuff, than completely replacing them. 3: I'm not much of a MOCer, but Helm's Deep, Attack On Weather Top, Lake Town Chase, and Tower Of Orthanc look great for parts packs. 4: All the time! Lots of the sets, and parts, are fantastic for me, I'm more of a MODer than a MOCer. Almost all of the sets that are Castle/Tree based, and the Lake Town Case are extremely useful. This is my main use of the sets, if I buy them. Change the minifigures, and the flags, and you've got a Dragon Knight Castle!
  9. Agreed, I collected the Originals from 1 to 53, then lost interest in comics as a whole. I'd prefer Martinex, Vance, and a classic Yondu any day, however, if we just get the blue head, at least we might be able to customize a decent one. As for how many character's we'll get, or sets, I'd hope Lego will give us all the major players, as I can only think of a few finished Licences that haven't gave us all of the main characters in one shape or another. Meaning Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket Racoon, Ronan The Accuser, Yondu, Nebula, Korath, The Collector, and the Nova Corps.
  10. Had a look at the new video, and it appears theirs more classic space guys, and classic union men! I'm sold, I'll be going to see this. And another short trailer, that shows (I think) a modified City Tram, that looks like a monorail, at 0.03. .
  11. Guardian's seems to be a prelude to Avengers Three, as Two involves Ultron, not Thanos. It appears Ronan and Nebula are in cahoots with Thanos (obviously Nebula, if you read comics). Based on this, I'm hoping for minifigures of Nebula, Thanos (If he is in the film), Yondu, Ronan, and Gamora, mainly to make classic versions. X-Men, I'll take anything. Don't care about the price, I'll buy them. Maybe a small Danger Room assault course with Wolverine and Ol Charlie, Professor X?
  12. Best attack on the Blackbird I've seen, or the most inventive, was Magneto who levitated then dropped Juggernaut head first at the Blackbird's wing. It was in a different, yet similar Marvel universe. As a comic fan, their are plenty of X-Villains they could use, whoever I don't think most here or general Kids know who Proteus, the Marauders, The Savage Land Mutates, Magneto's Acolytes, The Reavers, or Brood are, and I think some are too mature perhaps for Lego to venture in to, such as The Hellfire club, U-Men, and the Purifiers. I think it's more likely that we'll see Sauron on his own, multiple Magnetos, Sentinel's and The Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants, maybe some odd Mutants such as Juggernaut and Omega Red. Great news about a better Storm, great observations!
  13. Fantastic! Great news on your lot, I always find it fun to sort such lots, the chance and excitement while going through it, looking up the unique parts and never knowing what you might have in front of you. I've noticed these sorts of lots are far from a kids collection, more like a family collection that's been passed from Cousin to Cousin to Brother to Sister. Good luck in your hunt!
  14. I always had in my own Lego story, that Ogel ended up back in time, and became that Evil Sorcerer In the 07-09 Castle sets, and used his Skills in Skeleton resurrection to make his army of the un-dead, aka the Skeleton army from those sets. I would love a Super-Villain team-up, and a final conclusion to both Alpha Team and Agents, while at the same time setting the stage for more adventures. Bring on the pictures! And wave goodbye to my money...
  15. From all this joking around about Arctic Police, I've now got an image in my mind of a huge blue and white ship, armed with Flick Fires and Spring Fires, blood thirsty killer penguins, and an army of hooded axe wielding Cops with that freaky over used head with the silver shades and grin. In all seriousness, I really thing Lego have out done themselves with everything this year. The great vehicles line this year is one I'm going to buy all of, a welcome return to the Arctic, and even the cops aren't that bad either. Well done Lego.
  16. To join in, I'd like the team to be a mixture of Alpha Team, Agents, newbies and maybe "Mission Specialists", Character's from other action themes acting as advisors on certain missions. Like how Brains from Power Miners was in one of Atlantis sets.
  17. Great! What a surprise, Magneto in his late 80s costume, I'm rather pleased with that. Disappointing somewhat about Storm, I was hoping for her classic Second Genesis costume however, I'm grateful that she is included in the first place. Observation's from the prototype picture, Wolverine's on the box, hopefully they'll do his Yellow costume with mask and/or his brown costume with mask. That blue figure, to me, looks like either Cyclops, Mystique or perhaps Apocalypse, although the latter is less likely as Lego's more likely to make him a Big-fig. That plane is obviously the Blackbird, or a smaller support craft. And of course GOTG logo, meaning theirs at least one set. I have no clue about set distribution between DC/Marvel, however, I'm thinking 3/4 X-Men and maybe 2-3 GOTG sets. Any more pictures? I'm hoping for a Sentinel...
  18. With GL, maybe Lego want to put him in a set that they know will sell well, hence theirs less risk in making him after the Green Lantern Movie? I still don't think we'll get one, but I still hope. Got to laugh at the name, the sea cow, looks a great ship, however, with all the other things coming out I don't think I can afford to get it, or afford the space with Benny's Spaceship.
  19. Why Lego!? Not only am I trying to catch up on the last few decades of sets, and a new Pirate ship, a new Classic Space ship, a new Johnny Thunder figure, three fantastic Marvel sets, all the city Vehicle's, Police... now I have Agents, a theme that I only got three sets from and I love like many here. Wouldn't it be great, if there was original Agents and even Alpha Team characters mixed in. Maybe have Dash Justice as their leader?
  20. I'm no expert, however, I might be able to help. There's the rear tail of the latest City airplane (http://www.bricklink...asp?P=54094pb01), one of the current bike pieces (http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=52035), some rare red scaffolding pieces (http://www.bricklink...&colorID=5&in=A), parts of a number of Coast Guard sets, and the huge green piece is from a City hauler (http://www.brickset....ail/?Set=7998-1). Also, there's a helicopter screen (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2483), palm leaves (either these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2518, or these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6148), and one of those cupboards, I'm not 100% sure if this is the correct sort (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6197). There is clone brand stuff, but their is at least some Lego in it. Hope that helps.
  21. Some thing to post while looking around the internet, on Wikipedia, I found a bit of interesting news. It would appear that Chris Miller's (The director) creation from his childhood, Space Village, will be "utilized" in the film. More Classic Space anyone? Here's the link, it's at the bottom of the "Production" section; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lego_Movie#cite_note-io9ComicCon-25.
  22. Damn will I be broke. Classic Space! Pirates! Giant yellow mech! Johny Thunder! Some police ship that'l soon be owned by my space police! I don't know about the Police Dropship, but I'd buy the Classic Space ship and Metalbeards ship at full price, and maybe the mech. Benny the space man look's great, Uni-Kitty is growing on me, I'm more death 'n' Distruction than a Unicorn cat fan however, she has become more appealing. I just hope, and I mean hope, that we get the Frank Miller esqe Bat "Mobile". I would'nt care if it was over £200, I'd buy it. Maybe GL is in Metalbeards ship? Considering that almost all the other characters in the book appear in sets.
  23. This look's great! First thing I thought when I viewed the set, much like another members comment about it's versatility, was "That'd be great for a Superheroes AIM lab to cut Iron Man out of his suit". Sure, I'm not going to lie, the Mini figs look great and play a large part in me buying the set. With the increase in price of the CMF's I'm likely not to buy any of them, and I'll wait for Amazon discount's for most of the line , so this will get me the two main Characters for cheap, and a useful set. Great reviews Clone O'Patra!
  24. This particular lot was from the British heart foundation. I've got some from Charity Shops over the years, but it's extremely uncommon, I'm lucky because my local area is in great decline, your lucky if a shop lasts longer than a week. The only shops that flourish are Charity shops, or large chain stores, such as CEX and Tesco. You get sick so quick of the "you just missed a whole lot with every damn thing you wanted" and the "we never get any in" but sometimes, on the very rare occasions, you find a gem or two. There's lull's as well, like between last December and October, I found one lot. Between October and now, I've found four. You never know your luck, and it's always a gamble. Now for something more on topic, I bought 7891 Airport Fire Truck to go with Century Skyway.
  25. Fantastic reviews, Clone O'Patra! Quick question with all these mysterious bits on the Micro Managers. Do they combine, like a Power Rangers Megazoid?
