And don't forget the Sentinal. One possible route they could have gone by was making it a big fig, instead its brick built. Still no news from toy fair? Any chance of them being at NY Toy Fair?

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion
Dr Leg O Brick replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Licensed
Well done and thank you! Ghostbusters was a huge favourite of mine while growing up. I can't get over the idea that I'll be able to have official versions of Captain America, Marty, Venkman, Indiana Jones, Han Solo and Batman on one shelf. Never did I think I'd be able to do that when I became an AFOL. Planes, Trains, and Auto mobiles, Groundhog day and Scrooged MOC's anyone from Ray's and Peter's figures? -
Really sorry to bump this after so long, but I had two questions for Trek fans who might read this: What do you think of Kero's sets? They've been out for a while, there even branching out from JJ Abrams stuff. Any others here collect or seen the Starship collection? I've been collecting them a while now, I found it interesting and somewhat of a coincidence that the ships are made of die cast metal and ABS plastic...

What Lego-related thing did you do today?
Dr Leg O Brick replied to Savage Oppress's topic in Community
I finally made a good professor X wheelchair, pictures soon I hope. I also made progress in getting my city in order after a few new sets arriving. -
I'm reasonably new to video reviews, I like a lot of them, while I'll won't name drop, there are three channels I watch that are active, and I love them, good quality and production values, a good analysis of the set with good recordings of the set, clear, and they've persuaded me to buy a hell of a lot of sets in recent years. As for TBS, I think there OK, not great, I don't necessarily mind the voices, I can mute the computer after all, what I don't like is that, at least from the reviews I've watched, they don't actually show the set properly, it's a blip on the horizon after all and its all about them, not the set, the lake of knowledge, really bugs me sometimes, and the cluttered look of the place. Sets, minifigs, green wall paper...really hard to concentrate and find the set sometimes. I've just had a look at some of there more recent stuff, and it seems to have improved, a bit . Al my opinion, though.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Dr Leg O Brick replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
100% agree! Love it, Pertwee's my favourite doctor, it's great to see Dr Who going back to it's roots. Wonder what his Sonic will be like, maybe, like his costume, the current Matt Smith desktop theme, and the overall direction of the show now, more classical, streamlined perhaps. -
Any news from Nuremburg? Is it possible we'll see some pictures of the Stratojet/Blackbird?

Finally bought 76005, Daily Bugle showdown, thanks to a very convincing review I watched. I was planning on buying it anyway, to get Doom and Nova, I was just waiting for the price to fall. I bit the bullet, and am I glad I did.

Well, uh, certainly a change from are usual news. As mentioned, guys at Cuusso must be really panicking, the stuff that'll end up on the internet... the Summer 2014 confidential pictures will be the least of there worries. Well, best of luck for those who want to enter this, just make sure your insurance is up to date.

Thanks for correcting me on MOS, I plan on seeing it soon, it's said to pretty good. IMO, I've seen a fantastic Thanos custom for sale using just a regular minifig head, and the gold Chima armour. As for Phoenix, she was one of those damn Comic Con figs, as they've done Azog and a few others CC exclusives with little to no modification in regular sets, just a year after there comic con appearance, I see it as a (admittedly small) possibility. Plus, they could do her dark Phoenix attire, crazy psychotic grin and all. In addition to my previous ideas, maybe a Sentinel figure? Minifig sized, like Nimrod and his Sentinels?

Best/Worst designed licenced minifigure ever?
Dr Leg O Brick replied to Santaduckz's topic in LEGO Licensed
Best (In my opinion): Wolverine, War Machine, Dr Doom, Magneto, Iron Man Mark 7, Nova, Doc, and Marty. Worst (in my opinion): Flesh faced Clone Wars figures, (although there extremely useful), new Green Goblin, Ultimate Doc Ock. -
I've seen none, nor heard anything, Marvel wise, although Argos does have the Juniors set available, as well as the DC stuff on their website. Even in other countries, it seems, there not available as I've seen zero reviews, apart from the afore mentioned Juniors set. Lego usually do this, DC in January, Marvel in April/May from memory in the UK at least. Hope that helps.

As the discussion is on what the exclusive could be, I think I'll contribute. Hulk was a comic based character, a character who had already got a figure in the form of the big-fig Hulk. Jor-El was in the MOS film, although he didn’t have a huge part throughout the film, correct me if I'm wrong, I haven’t seen it. Based on this, and assuming it'll be Marvel, here are my guesses: Coulson, maybe a way to test the AOS market? Thanos, comic based, my guess is he'll have a cameo at the end of GOTG, like Avengers Civilian Logan, or something else X-Men related, vest, jeans, dog tags, cowboy hat (either Indiana Jones style or Lone Ranger), alternative hair Maybe classic Cyclops? Or 90s Mohawk Storm? Phoenix?

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Dr Leg O Brick replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well, a bit belated but I finished A:EMH. I've got to say one thing, it may be the best cartoon I've watched. Sure, there where a few duff episodes (the Hulk and Korvac episodes, although that's probably just me) and there was a significant drop in quality with the writing change, but overall it was stunning, and it breaks my heart that they got rid of it in favour of the new Avengers "Movie cash-in" crud. My favs where To steal an Ant-Man, The Private War Of Dr Doom, The Ballad Of Beta Ray Bill, Behold...The Vision!, Prisoner Of War, and New Avengers, although all the Kree and Skrull episodes where stunning. Also found the Purple Man hilarious, due to him being voiced by Brent Spiner, an actor known for being more than a bit egotistical off stage. Least favourites where the Red Skull/Red Hulk episodes, while most disappointing where Korvac and Emperor Stark. Not they where bad episodes, but anything short of the 20 Avengers pile on a Bus to Forest Hills to fight (and die by the hands of) Korvac, a man from the 31st century who was experimented on by the Badoon, while his wife being the collectors daughter, would of been disappointing. And Emperor Stark carried the name of one the best Exiles comics, and one of the most chilling representations of Stark, and possibly the most accurate. The characters where spot on, the voices spot on, no toned down Wolverine or Luke Cage (Well, maybe a bit...), Vision, Cap and his escape...All just fantastic, just so much was great it's hard to put down in words. Can't recommend EMH enough. Nuff said I think. -
As long as they keep putting characters like Luke Cage in them nonsensical Spider-vehicles, I'm fine! Plus, I've got plans for these vehicles, I'll be adding some custom made stickers and figs to turn them into Hellfire club vehicles.

I forgot it my previous post to mention about it going evergreen, I've always thought so since the first set I opened. I thought to myself, "Could this Avengers wave be the equivalent of the 1999 Star Wars wave?", and it appears so. As I said before in a previous post, I think one thing that has and will set Superheroes apart from most Licenses, is the advantage of very few sets being repeated. Think about, all they have to do is every few years (7 years perhaps) re-release the main things, The Bat-Cave, Quinjet, etc. Apart from that, there free to do what Marvel/DC tells them to make. TBH, as much as I want more different Marvel sets, I can live with a few Spidey sets every year, as it seems, thanks to the cartoon, they aren't stuck with the Stereotypical Spidey rogues gallery or hero gallery. As for DC? I stopped being a completest on Wave 2. I'll get the Flash set, maybe the Penguin and Juniors one this year, other than that, I'd rather invest in Marvel.

Wohooo! First I was disappointed at the sound of this "X-Jet", until I realized that the stubby nose sounded familiar. Sounds like it appeared in the comics, the best IMO run of the X-Men. I remembered it from #129, the first part of the phoenix saga. Here's a pic of the outside http://static4.wikia...126big-SR71.gif, and the inside http://4.bp.blogspot...XMen1260001.jpg, to give you an idea of size. Anybody who has any versions of the comic can see it in better detail. Had a look around but couldn't find any better. As for Magneto, he should be with the X-Men in set. When he wore the costume without the helmet (I remember it from the first, original, X-Men V Avengers series, http://media.comicbo...vengers_001.jpg) he'd renounced his evil ways, hence lack of helmet. And to add, why lot's of us are comparing the Quinjet to the now Mini Blackbird is because the Blackbird in the main transport for the X-Men, ala Quinjet and Fantasticar. We naturally expected it to be big. Obviously not in Lego's eyes, maybe saving the budget for the Guardians sets? Also it appears the guy we where cautious of was right, Cyke was in the Mini Bird and the Blackbird turned out, well, to be mini.

How was Arkham unveiled? Didn't the prison uniformed Joker just pop up from no where and speculation started on a new DC set, and then later on it was found out that it was Arkham? I'm hopeful we'll get something, maybe X-Men related or Guardians? Just one more day till London toy fair, then we'll know for certain as to what's in the Blackbird.

I didn't like it because it felt like every single DC comic before hand was simply wiped from the board and that everything I bought was pointless. They may be good, but IMO I would've preferred it if they went the route Marvel took with the Ultimates, say this is here and that is there and left it at that, please correct me if I'm wrong. As for the crisis stuff, the original Crisis On Infinite Earths was utterly stunning. I have some of the originals, have a Graphic Novel of them and have read them. Up there with my favourite comic books, of any publisher. What I didn't like is that afterward the "crisis" name dragged through the mud for years, like how they bought Jean back in the X-Men and as a result gutted the fantastic Phoenix saga. Have a look at the contents and tell me that Crisis isn't over used. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crisis_(DC_Comics) I didn't realise, but Identity Crisis is listed. That's again, one of my most favourite comic series. Further, many in that list are great, it was just over used.

I can see your point, I haven't bought any DC since Infinite Crisis, and I don't plan on buying any more any time soon due to the new 52. And at the moment, I'm hating the "cash-in on the Avengers" costumes and the body swapping Spider-Man story arch. However, there are many comic writers, many comics in general that a great. I'd say there's less than 98%, a hell of a lot less that are bad. Maybe 20%, 15%. I've went out of comics twice, once in the late 90's (Heroes Reborn, money grabbing variant covers, Crisis on this that and the other, the "half the X-Men in Australia" etc), and again with Civil War. Why can't it be like the old days, no trillion part epic every day where a hero dies but ends up living again by the end of the week? I, of course, know why. I haven't bought a new comic, straight of the press in ages but, that doesn't mean I don't like Marvel, or I don't enjoy them. I read comics every day, I love them, and I enjoy them as much as I did the day I bought them, weather there originals, British reprints or Graphic Novels. And as for them being written terribly, hundreds, thousands are fantastically written, and some further address very adult and difficult themes for people, even to this day despite them being decades old. What I'm trying to say is that you can still enjoy past stories, and don't paint everything with the same brush. Some stuff's good nowadays, you've just got to give it a chance.

Exiles is great, if you have the cash and time, due to it being 16 graphic novels long. As an avid reader of the "What Ifs?" in my youth, I always found that Exiles was basically a "What If?" each week with a recurring cast of people. The line-up changes, a lot, as you can probably expect with the job they do. And, not to sound like a salesman, the prices are reasonable, I bought a lot of the Graphic Novels of the internet (eBay/Amazon) for between £5-£7, it depends on what kind of condition your looking at, some comic book stores still sell them for marked price. But what ever you do, as mentioned, don't buy "The New Exiles". The original Exiles succeeds in my mind due to the humour involved, if you get into the series you'll find that, in particular the first book and anything related to the Weapon X team, it can get quite grim, after all, to fix some of these problems with the multiverse they need to do what has to be done, Wolverine style. Then, obviously, you need humour, in the form of Morph, a real good laugh all though he sometimes can go a bit too far, due to many things his humour and role took a back seat and the team didn't mesh well in Claremont's, hence depressing in my eye's. It lost it's humour. On another note, something I'd recommend to anyone who's unsure about making an investment in comics, or just want to get a feel of the classics, particularly X-Men, I'd recommend the Marvel Pocket Book series by Panini in the UK. It's reprints of the classics, basically. I've got three FF's and most of the X-Men ones, however, they are essentially cheap full colour (unlike the Essentials series) graphic novels, 10 issues or 3ish issues plus an annual, £4-£5 each. My local Forbidden Planet (Comic book chain store) in Birmingham has most of them, on sale in some cases.

So, it appears, are enlightened friend hasn't returned with news. Toy Fair's on Tuesday in London, and I'm sure concrete info will surface on the Blackbird. With that in mind, I'm still holding out hope for either Mystique, Sabertooth, Bishop, Gambit, Cyke, Colossus, or Beast, at the very least a forth and fifth fig. Is there a possibility of a Marvel D2C as DC had one last year?

LEGO Ultra Agents 2014
Dr Leg O Brick replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, so I was kind of right in thinking these villains perhaps are using weather control tech. Thanks as always just2good for the link, this is sounding, and looking, better and better! That logo is certainly appealing, very nice with the black and electric blue colour, certainly gives the impression that it's an elite team of the best of the best. Maybe the bad guys are an off shoot of Ogel, maybe someone using other Lego villains tech for there own purposes, or Ogel himself in a Cabal of super-villians? These airplane pilots sound like Blacktron 1 guys, very threatening. I look forward to more... -
I can see Super Heroes lasting as long as Star Wars. It certainly has the potential to. Think about it, Super Heroes are the in thing at the moment, with three Marvel films on the horizon, along with many more after, It certainly won't loose interest any time soon. It also has something that's completely unique, that no other theme has, the ability to turn out completely different sets based on either comic, cartoon, or live action material, and the freedom of that. And I can tell you now, there are hundreds of thousands of different locations, vehicles, buildings, you name it, in the comics alone. Add in new movies being made and planed I suspect at this very moment, plus old and existing cartoons, plus the sheer number of fans, both Marvel and Lego, who are willing to put down there hard earned cash on anything from a £10 impulse set to the Quinjet, and the openness that you can have almost any situation made into a set, unlike most licenses, as long as it's relevant and accurate to the subject and appealing to your specified audience, you've got yourself a very large, money filled cash cow. The only problem, I see, is that Marvel controls the sets. They say what and who's going to be made, which may be the cat among the pigeons, so to speak. However, I'm hopeful, and I'm going to enjoy getting one of my most favourite things in Lego for as long as I can, even if I would prefer more X Men or a Jim Lee Cyclops to an Astonishing one.
